Suddenly, there was a sharp pain in Cheyenne's lip and a metallic taste in her mouth. She had bitten clean through. "Oh! Ow!" Frowning and blushing, horribly embarrassed, she stuck her paw up to her lip. It came away red.
"I-I-I... I'm sorry... I just... Well sometimes... I just... Um... I'm sorry..." Still playing with her bloody lip, the vixen jumped off the hill, stumbling a bit on the landing as she wasn't the best with balance. "I-I-I... I'm sorry..." She repeated, pacing a bit and stopping every few steps to touch her lip with her paw. "I-I-I... I should go... I'm sorry... I bothered you... I was just... feeling... Well it doesn't matter what I was feeling I bothered you and you don't even know me and now I'm sure you really don't like me and I'm just sorry..."

Shen shrugged. "Whatever. Not like I'm your superior or anything. Go do whatever you want to." Again his tone was bland, almost bored. To involve himself in the affairs of someone else, especially someone he didn't know, was just too bothersome. He wasn't out to try to fix all the wrongs and make everyone happy. You had to find that balance yourself.

If there was one thing Cheyenne could be famous for, it was how quickly hurt turned to anger. "You are a very rude fox, you know that?!" She jumped back on the hill, standing over the dark male. "I'm bleeding here, and trying to apologize for coming along and spoiling your perfect day," There was a bit of sarcasm in her tone when she said this. "And all you do is say 'whatever' like you're too lazy to give a flying flip about anybody but yourself!!!"
Glaring down at the fox, she did something Cheyenne was not known to do - she pushed him so hard he went rolling down the hill.

The hill wasn't all that big, so Shen didn't roll far. He came to a stop on his side, legs sprawled in a tangle. "Tch," he said, proceeding to untangle his limbs so he could stand. "What is it with women and having to make such a fuss about everything." It wasn't really clear whether he was speaking to himself or Cheyenne, probably to himself.
Finally he stood. It had been hard to tell with him laying on his back before, but he did have a nice frame; slim-looking but with strong muscles under the fur. His expression was somewhat bored and uninterested. "Tch-," he said again, a bit louder, "-really. You came up to me, you made yourself bleed, you insisted on apologizing, and you left. This is just too troublesome for me."
Shen shook some loose grass out of his coat and began to walk off, wondering if maybe he could find another nice clearing, or maybe something amusing to do that wasn't going to require more than brain power.

"Ugh!!!" Cheyenne cried in frustration and trotted after him. Since he stood up, she got a good look at him, and handsome or not this fox was getting on her nerves. Why did she not just turn away and walk off? Not even Cheyenne herself knew.
"And what is it with men and just not giving a rats tail end?! No wonder so many of you are going gay, you're too lazy to bother with a good woman!!!" She had nothing against gay or bisexual foxes, oh no. She just saw it unfair that all the hot ones hooked up with each other. Well, that and she was really determined to provoke this fox since he seemed so intent on ignoring everything.

Shen still looked bored. "Women always get mad no matter what a guy says in the end," he replied. "Why should I bother to get worked up just because you're worked up? Not like anything I say will make a difference." He sighed, and if he would have been human he might have shrugged and spread his hands out to either side. Since he was human he just kept up with easy gait. "Why do women have to prove they can be annoying?"

Well this was turning into a sexist conversation. Cheyenne sighed internally. At least it was an actual conversation. "That is so un-true. Women are actually quite easy to please, if guys would just listen for a change! And for the record, what you say will make ALL the difference."
Since he kept walking, Chy bounded a couple steps, sat down in front of him so close he might just fall over on her, and stuck out a poking paw. "Why do men have to prove they can be *icks?

Shen's expression was someone between a deadpan and annoyed. He had stopped before running into Cheyenne, which wasn't hard since he had been walking at a fairly slow speed. There was a breath of silence after she finished speaking. Two. Three. Finally....
"Ugh. This is so troublesome." With that he turned around and headed back the way he came, since Cheyenne was blocking him. So annoying, he'd taken all those steps for nothing.

Cheyenne deflated. This fox was impossible! Sighing and shaking her head, she noticed that her head fluff was blowing with a bit more force than a simple head shake should create. Frowning, she looked up at the clouds. Looked like a storm was blowing in. "Perfect." She sighed. Just perfect. While she loved to watch a storm, she hated being out in it.
"Hey!" Jumping up from her spot Cheyenne chased after Shen, which of course only took a single second. "What is your problem? Everything is just too troublesome for you, isn't it? Is nothing worth your time, worth your effort? Are you really that lazy or are you one of those who just doesn't give a flip about anybody?"

Shen shrugged, expression bored. "Guess I'm just lazy." He halted suddenly and tossed back his head, looking up at the clouds. 'Man, it looks like a storm might be coming. Even though just a second ago the weather was perfect.' Without moving his head his eyes glanced backwards to see Cheyenne in his periferal, and his expression just dead-panned a bit more. 'This is what happens when you start arguing and getting all upset. What a drag.'
He sighed, face going resigned, and changed his position just a bit so he'd stay under tree cover but could move somewhere he could at least watch the sky to be sure there was rain coming. "Better find shelter. Looks like things are going to get wet," he remarked in an off-hand way over his shoulder, then faced forward and kept going.

It was impossible to yell at this fox. Impossible! All the fight just went out of Cheyenne when he dismissed her, and guilt came flooding in. Here this male had been enjoying the day, and she came along to ruin it. She knew she had no right to be mad at him, and now she couldn't quite remember why she got upset to begin with... How silly of her. How... inconsiderate. No wonder Shen hated her immediately. Chy bit her lip again, only to cry out as she had also forgotten she'd already bit it through.
Sighing, she looked up at the handsome blue fox who's day she totally destroyed - only to realize that she had been following him, tail dragging, head down. Feeling horrible, but still not really wanting to be alone again, the vixen scrambled up into a tree, jumping from branch to branch, tree to tree, staying one step ahead of Shen.

Shen stopped and looked up at the trees with another of his unreadable expressions, the kind that could slip into just about any emotion. 'What the heck is she following me for? Not like I know where I'm going either.' He supposed he could alter his path, or even try to run for it since he was willing to bet he had some speed advantages over her, but it was just too much trouble really.
Instread he just sighed through his nose and kept walking. Maybe she'd just go off on her own if he didn't say anything.

Cheyenne looked down at the male when he stopped, but unfortunately her paws kept going. With an embarrassing thud, the vixen landed on her shoulders and neck in a very awkward and painful manner. For a second, she just stared at Shen. Then she rolled herself into a sitting position, ducked her head as low as she could get it, and cried. Not the wailing, dramatic kind of cry, but the kind you could only recognize by the shaking of her shoulders from behind, which is where Shen was because Chy had put her back to him.
Why was she crying? Chy wasn't really sure. She just felt like she needed too. Almost as if the clouds mimicked her thoughts, a few drops of rain began to fall.

'Really, this is getting just too annoying. Why go in trees if you can't climb?' Shen sighed through his nose again. He couldn't really help this thoughts, but there wasn't any serious irritation in them. Just a slacker wanting to do his best to avoid overly emotional females. Still. "Fall didn't break anything, did it?"

The vixen nearly choked on her tears. He was actually talking to her, without her asking a question? Taking a few deep breaths to re-stuff her emotions down, she wiped away the tears and looked back at Shen. Her neck hurt a bit, but nothing was broke.
"N-no..." Cheyenne said in a quite voice. Looking back up at the clouds, she whispered, "I'm sorry..." But it wasn't Shen she was talking to.
Swallowing hard, not wanting to start bawling, she looked back at Shen, standing up. "Um, I know a place we can go to keep dry, and still have a good view of the storm. We'd have to hurry a bit though..." She looked back up at the sky. Storm was rolling in, all right. The place she was talking about wasn't far from them, it was on a hill of sorts and had a cluster of trees. Good view, with wind and rain blocks too.
