Frosty smiled lightly at the confusion that struck across Nalani's face. He gave a chuckle, and shifted his wings alittle as he nodded to her. "I'm absoulutely sure you could Nalani." He chirped, his honesty and optimism practically overwhelming. That was Frosty afterall, never letting the darker side of the moon cast shadows over his face. He blinked alittle in slight confusion as Nalani turned her head at his compliments. He wasn't fully aware of why, since his experiences with mares were less than complete, but she gave off the air of appreciation, and Frosty gave a smile, not letting her head turn concern him. He embraced it rather, as a success in making her look at her own positive features, rather than what she lacked.

He watched the careful changes in her demeanor, even though he himself couldn't quite make out the reasons behind the slight changes. He laughed softly as she spoke about Umbra and gave a sweet nod, even though her guesses about them being more than friends were nowhere near accurate. Childhood best friends were as far as they ever achieved, and it seemed very unlikely they would pursue a greater relationship together. "We've been best friends since foalhood, and to this day we have kept that. I do hope that I will savor many more occasions with her. I hate to see relationships drift with time." He told her, smiling at her gently.

"I would also love to be able to keep our relationship strong Nalani. You are a wonderful mare." He gave another cheerful laugh and grin, tossing his mane to free himself from the chills of the winter air.

'I'm sure we will be good friends.' Nalani replied softly, feeling a sense of disappointment. But really did she expect him to be anything other than faithfully attached a lovely young mare? He was pleasant and attractive, the most charming stallion she had met.

She still didn't know for definate, but she assumed from his continued warm words about this mare Umbra that there was something there, and he was most kindly letting her know that although he was with someone that he would be a good friend, and she supposed that was compensation of a sort.

If she only had the kind of spirit that her mother, or even her elder sister had! If she was not so proper she could have outright asked him, looked Frost Feather straight in the eye and let him know that her time with him had been the easiest and happiest she'd had in her young life. In short, that she was taken with him, and wanted to know if there was a possibility that he felt the same.

But her manner prevented her being that forward. She fell quiet as she continued to lead him to shelter from the wintery weather.

Frosty smiled happily as Nalani answered to him positively, even if her voice was soft. He pushed it off to the fact that the vivid coated mare was simply proper, and thus a loud voice certainly wouldn't suit her. He fell in step with her once again, the chilly air frosting over his sensitive feathers, and he shook them out once more, spreading the plumes and chuckling in cold. "It's truly great to be heading to warmth. Is it just me and my feathers or are you just as chilled?" He inquired, his curious, dreadfully honest gaze alluring in an unconscious manner.

He laughed softly and shook his mane out once more, feathers that were frosted over with snow sprinkling them both with white flakes, which blended into Frosty's cool colors, yet contrasted so with Nalani's coat and mane. Blinking, Frosty leaned in just a bit closer toward the mare, observing how she stood out against the snow. It made her beautiful, and he smiled, his dark eyes shimmering with enlightenment and enjoyment of company.

"The way you stand out against the snow is very pretty." He commented, so innocent the young colt inside him practically lept from his pelt and skipped across the blankets of white. His charm was perhaps not of a stallion, but it certainly worked the way he held it.

'It really isn't warm.' Nalani said, her words as before accompanied by a puff of white that quickly dissipated. Though they were walking, it wasn't doing much beyond keeping her limbs loose and it was with a sense of relief that she turned off again, her hooves crunching the frosted grass underneath the snow. She led him towards a far patch of dark, that eventually resolved itself into a copse of evergreen trees.

'Thank you.' she said, looking away again, blushing more this time, feeling it even more so as the cold air touched her warm cheeks.

She fell quiet again as she led him between and under the trees. There was spot where an autumn storm had caused some of the higher branches to fall and tangle with the still sound branches and they had formed a canopy of sorts, keeping the ground relatively snow free and the air was several degrees warmer. She stamped her hooves; she knew that the best way to keep warm was to exchange body heat but that would mean a closeness she'd never had with a male that wasn't her brother.

'You're very handsome.' she said, managing to form the words, as she looked at him, the sound echoing them a little.

'I'm..Umbra is a lucky mare to have you in her life.'
There, she'd spoken a little of what she felt. It wasn't much, but it would be rude to say more. It was not his fault that he'd stirred the beginning of what could be deep feelings - well, were he single. She was still unaware that Umbra was only his friend.
