Argh! It hadn't occurred to her that he would dodge the other direction and it pissed her off even further to see all of her best-laid plans get foiled. Also she was starting to get tired from all this jumping and clawing. She couldn't dodge, and sighed, going limp in his maw the way all pups do when caught by the ruff. "Fine," she said, sounded completely defeated. "FINE. I surrender."

Rua just simply held her there for a moment, calming himself down and letting her realize she'd been defeated. In a manner of sorts. After a few moments he placed her gently on the ground and shook himself. He sighed to himself and gave her a few light licks on the head to smooth her ruffled fur. "Good, your first lesson is learned." he says in a vague sort of way.

Her ears flattened. "My first lesson....?" She stared up at him, thoroughly disgruntled, her eyes narrowed and head scrunched down into her shoulders, not at all liking having his tongue on her now. He might have cooled down but she was still very annoyed, and it was making her sullen. "I thought I was supposed to be learning how to be a hero."

He chuckled at her cute way of scrunching up like that. Pups were just so adorable. He stopped licking after a moment and sat down to make himself more comfortable. "It is, and the first lesson is to know when to accept defeat." He says sagely and gives himself a shake. "It wouldn't do to fight some unconquerable foe and to die because of it." he points out. "You regroup, come up with a new plan and try again. Perhaps you could reason with your foe, or trick him somehow." He says with a nod. He'd make this pup a hero yet.
