I think it's sad that people do that. I mean, there are extreamists in every religion. Suicide bombing in the Middle East are not only performed by Muslims, but by Christians and Jews as well. And in the 60s Bhuddist Monks set themselves on fire to protest segregation in the Unite States.

eek They did? That's terrible! crying It's sad they felt they had to do that. Anyway, negativity towards Muslims in general is just cold hard racism. me no like racism.

I am a muslim and I can understand why people would think it's negative but many of the people I know (and I include myself) don't support terrorism - so it can't be bad! Also, people who carry out terrorist acts and suicide bombings ARE NOT considered to be "martyrs" - people should learn more about ALL religions so they don't come such silly conclusions.

I think this made national news... I'm not sure... I haven't been paying the media much attention lately.... But a week ago eight or so people were killed at a mall in Salt Lake City, Utah.
It was okay when the identity of the gunman was unreleased, but as soon as his name was made public, someone pointed out to the media that he was from a Muslim, everyone was in an uproar. Members of both the Bosnian community (his family was immigrant) and Islamic community received threats. The mayor released a formal press statement saying the gunman was acting of his own accord and not following Muslim or Bosnian values.
It pissed me off that the newspapers here decided to state that he was Islamic. stare It matters not what his religion was, and it was apparent from the beginning that it was not religiously motivated.
