"I would argue..." with a few drinks in him, Ever probably wasn't terribly wise to keep arguing with the girl, but he couldn't very well help himself. His tone came out lazy and comfortable, his eyes kept wandering -- easily distracted by others as they pased by. "I mean, if you're saying that, I'd argue that if you step outside of your house you're choosing to be subjected to the opinion of others."
He winked at her. It was sloppy. Not terribly flirty. She was female; it was hard for him to ease into normal teasing techniques. "So I have just as much right to tell you you're rude as you do to tell me that I'm a crap singer."
And then he paused. Just a beat. For effect. "...of course, I already knew that I was terrible, and have long since accepted it. Totally tone deaf. While you have yet to come to grips with your own personality flaws..."
He downed his drink quickly. Just in case he had to retreat.

Lily rolled her eyes, but she was looking into her drink, so it was hard to see the gesture. When she did look up she nodded, "that is exactly what we do," she agreed, "and so we agreed to disagree. I no longer see the point of this argument. You are are terrible, I called out on it, you agree you are terrible. You think I am rude, I do not think so, but it your opinion and its a free country."
Lily sipped her drink once more before sighing lightly and turning back to the bar. She politely, gained the bar tenders attention and ordered a water, and another drink for Ever without being prompted, paid and waited for them.
"Enjoy the drinks," she said with a smile before looking to the stage were a couple was making their way off and the announcer was calling for another volunteer. Lily waved a hand at him before turning to Ever, "I think I will catch another song, I will be back in a few."
She walked off, taking her water with her, not really expecting him to stay put, she would check when she was done, but she certainly was not going to seek him out if he was not there.

No, certainly not; he stuck around just a little to watch her sing, to acknowledge that she was rather good, and then finally decide that he didn't care -- not a fan of her song choice. Then it was back to the bartender to ask him a rather blunt question with a very disappointing answer.
By the time she was off stage, Ever had definitely moved onto somewhere with cheaper, stronger drinks.
