"Of course, if it were up to me, I wouldn't be going back to that hellish place." Shadow muttered, folding up the papers and putting them in his pocket. "Shadow, there's more headed your way." "Got it." he said, backing up against the wall, looking towards a window. "How are you going to escape?" "Jump." "J-YOU'RE THIRTY FEET IN THE AIR!" "You forget what I'm capable of, Rogue." He said. He started running. Upon reaching the window, he jumped through it--even though it was shatter-proof glass, of course. He fell down to earth, landing safely in an armored car with missles. "You are the craziest guy I have ever met, Shadow."

Rosemary went to the window as he jumped out. She leaned out and saw him land perfectly fine. She was in awe. Was this the 'Ultimate Lifeform' she has only heard rumors of? She blinked and shook her head. "Oddities everywhere." she muttered. She could hear footsteps down the hallway through the now broken door. She turned and looked around the room. "Well," she said. "At least I know what happens around here."

"I'm telling you, it was that Ultimate Lifeform guy!" said a soilder passing by the door, accompanied by a girl soilder. "Yeah, right." "I'm not kidding! It fit the description perfectly! Red and black hair, odd shoes that seem to make him float--this wasn't a coincidence that the guy was here. We need to check on the safe! What if he took stuff from it?!" "Stop being paranoid, Steve. It was some teenager who decided to take a stroll in the woods, and came across our base." "Explain all the destroyed robots!" "They aren't exactly quality made, you know."
Shadow started the car and drove off into the woods.
The two soilders sprinted into the room, skidding to a stop infront of the window as they watched Shadow speed off.

Rosemary stepped aside as the two soldiers came into the room and ran towards the window. Hearing most of their conversation, Rosemary said innocently, "Sorry to say, but I think Steve was right." Shuffling away from the window, she poked her head out of the door and looked down the hallway. She sighed and went back in the room. What to do now? She looked down at her appearence. She was still wearing the clothes she had arrived in. And no guessing her hair was a mess from the sleep. Grumbling silently, she looked back towards the window. Who was he?

(HUZZAH FOR SONIC REFERENCES! xD)
Shadow drove through the woods, one arm over the back of his seat. He looked up into the trees at the sound of russling leaves. Something dropped down from the trees, landing in the seat next to him. "Hey Shadow." said Rogue, smiling slightly. "What are you doing here? I thought you were comunicating to me from base?" Shadow asked, looking from Rogue to the way he was headed. Rogue shrugged. "What? I wanted to keep an eye on you. Besides, how else could I get such presice information?"
 (Let's say she's another experiment ;3)

(Lol.)
As Rosemary was ushered from the room, she continued to think about what had happened. She ignored anyone who asked questions and simply kept her opinions to herself. She was placed in another room, this one apparently much more guarded. Rosemary snorted inwardly. Right. When she was finally alone, she took the opprotunity to change into fresh clothes. She had brought a bag with her. Absently grabbing a black tank top, a thick red jacket and a pair of black skinny jeans, she stripped out of her old clothes and put on her new outfit. She simply pulled her hair into a ponytail and pulled on a pair of boots. When she was dressed, she left her room and started to wander around.

"And anyhow, I have no clue on how to use that complicated machinery at base." Rogue added. Shadow shrugged. "You're part bat, I figure you'd think of something. Then again, I'm talking to the lady who'd sell her own mother for a shiny jewel." Rogue glared at him. "Well at least I'm not a jerkish know-it-all." She snapped. "Touche." Shadow said, before swerving to avoid a tree. "So what'd you do with the girl after you destroyed those robots?" She asked, changing the subject. "What girl?" "The enemy general's daughter." "Nothing. I just left her there." "Oh?" Shadow looked at her out of the corner of his eye, then back at where he was driving. "Why?" "Well, it's just, you've never held back before." Rogue smiled mischeviously. "Not even for girls." "I wasn't holding back. You told me to get my a** out of there, so I did." "Uh-huh." "What are you getting at, Rogue?" "You liiiike her, don't you Shadow?" "What the hell have you been drinking?"

Rosemary found her way towards a hallway with a large glass wall. When she looked through it, her jaw dropped. Inside were tons of the robots, all perfectly lined up. Shaking her head, she walked off. "That's a waste." she said. "They're not even high tech."
She continued wandering around when she crossed paths with a few soldiers from earlier. She almost groaned when she saw they were looking for her. "What?" she asked irritably. Before one of them could answer, Rosemary could hear her father's shouting from another hallway. She tensed and pushed through the soldiers. She was not about to get lectured for something she couldn't prevent. She went back to her room and closed the door behind her. She went to the only window in the room and opened it, breathing with relief as the crisp air chilled her lungs.

"I'm perfectly sober." Rogue replied, smirking slightly. "Then I'm worried for your health. The day I like anyone is the day the world ends." Shadow said. "Good point." Rogue glanced at the trees around them. "Um....Doesn't this place look a bit familiar to you, Shadow?" "How could you tell the difference? This whole place looks the same." "I think we're lost." "No kidding." "Aren't you supposed to be good at driving cars?" "If you want to try driving out of here, be my guest. I, on the other hand," Shadow swung himself over the side of the car, landing on his feet. "am going back to base the old fashioned way." He ran in the other direction, which turned into gliding, with his shoes. "Hey! Come back here! How am I supposed to get back to base?!" shouted Rogue. "Are you a bat or what?!" "Oh, right." Rogue stood, then jumped to grab a branch, pulled herself up on it, then spread her wings and jumped. She glided after Shadow.

After a while by the window, Rosemary started to get a bit cold. She shut the window and sighed, looking around the small room. It seemed almost identical to the first room she had been put in. She rolled her eyes. This place wasn't exactly a very good base. She wondered why her father spent so much time on it. But then again, when she first arrived she had thought this place was a top notch army base. And after she saw what Shadow could do it seemed...pathetic almost.
Trailing her fingers through her ponytail, Rosemary sat on the bed and began to think. Mostly considering her mixed feelings about this place. Mostly about who and what Shadow is. With a sharp intake of breath, she flopped back on the bed, hitting her head on something hard. "Ouch." she mumbled, sitting back up. Turning, she saw it was the wall. "Stupid, small spaces." she grumbled, shifting so she wouldn't hit her head again when she lay back. Closing her eyes, she drfited away in her own thoughts.

Rogue soon caught up with Shadow, gliding above him. They were going very fast. By the time Rosemary had hit her head on the wall, they were already out of the snow. Rogue noticed this. "Er, Shadow? You aren't by any chance stopping time to make us go faster, are you?" "Took you long enough to figure that out." "Hmph. I don't even know why I remain friends with you." Rogue said, crossing her arms while her wings remained flapping. "Who said we were friends?" "Oh yeah, I forgot." Rogue rolled her eyes, "You don't like anyone. Especially from the base. At least of the people there, you like me best."

Blinking her eyes open, Rosemary rubbed her face with her hands. There were so many things that she never thought could exist. Shadow being one of them. With a frown, Rosemary sat up when she heard a knock at the door. "Go away." she said. She could hear a muffled voice and assumed it was her father. Throwing a pillow over her head, she lay back down on the bed. She wasn't going to listen. She didn't have to. Rosemary wondered why her father had brough her here in the first place. Why he had obliged to her asking. Probably thought that keeping her in the same room as some important information would stop some freak from taking them. "Guess what, dad? You're wrong." she said into the pillow.

A beep from Shadow's tracking device. He raised his arm, speaking into it, but still running. "What?" "Shadow. You're headed back to base. I assume this means you have succeeded in retreiving the information. "Yeah, mission accomplished." Rogue listened attentively. "Is agent Rogue with you?" "Yes." "But isn't she supposed to be in Egypt?" "I don't know. I'm not aware of her duties." "I've collected the required gem, captian." Rogue said, flying low so she could be heard. "Ah, Rogue. Excellent. You're proving yourself as good as Shadow." "I live to serve, captian." Rogue said, "Rogue out." She resumed her altitude of flying above Shadow. "I expect to see you both back here soon. Captian Renald out." Another beep, indicating the conversation was over. Shadow lowered his wrist, then looked up at Rogue. "Have those idiots figured out that you're giving them fake gems and keeping the real ones for yourself?" Rogue smiled innocently. "I don't know what you're talking about."

(Sorry it took so long. I had mild writer's block...)
When Rosemary was sure that no one was in front of her door, she got off the bed and opened it. Glancing around, she closed it behind her and went off down the hallway. She went up a couple of flights until she as sure that it was the top. Finding the door to the roof, she opened it and went through it. A chilly cold made her shiver and pull her jacket closer but it was where no one would find her easily. It was a high veiw, but it made Rosemary feel better. Not cramped in that small room.

(I know what you mean. I hate when characters seperate, cause then ish boring xD)
Rogue stopped flying. Shadow stopped, too. He looked back at her. "What?" Rogue shrugged. "I don't feel like going back to base yet, as all. Here, catch." she took something from her pocket, throwing it to Shadow. "Give that to them." Shadow caught the item, which he found to be a diamond-like gem. He looked at her. "All right." He was a little envious she got to do whatever she wanted, while he was always stuck at base, but then turned and sped off. Rogue changed direction, flying back towards the enemy base.
