Hmm... I think a good criteria might be as follows:

You are a regular gamer if you play for fun.

You are a hardcore gamer if you play to win.

Does that work? sweatdrop

@Kannonm Achievement Hoar = Hardcore? LoL

*randomly to everyone* And I'm so excited there's so many posts in the guild (compared to before) I dunno where to start! @ o @ !! I love all of you!

I'm somewhere between casual and hardcore, but it depends on what games I play. I can be dedicated to about one game at a time, which means that I'll end up ignoring the other games while playing with one of them.

I'm always like this.
Although, it may be due to me not being able to play more than two games at a time,
because I forget what's going on or how to function optimally/properly. DD;

Zero the Crimson

Oh no, it's not for enjoying the game, It's the character. I use Brick (the huge one) and they think I've lost it when I use his ability against just about anything. Is it so wrong that I find it fun to fight enemies with guns by laughing like a mad man and punching them?

It was fun and stress relieving in that way that the crash into s**t modes were for the burnout series. Up until my Brick came across the aforementioned group of assholes that aren't far from the starting town. Like, you leave the gate, they are over to the right. Almost always one of em shooting from a distance. And if you follow them into their hole, there are tons of them. And one of them WILL NOT DIE. Brick Rage failed. Guns failed. Grenades failed. I rage quit eventually.

Heh, I was thinking about making that point myself. With achievement points there is a definite way to measure how hardcore you are. We'd have to come up with some system to rank how many means what. I've over 30k on XBL. What does that mean?

I don't see that as being hardcore though, as it may simply be dedication and patience, lack of other things to do, having money to buy a lot of games, etc. I see hardcore as the douchebag in some mulitiplayer team game, that has 75 percent of the kills and is bitching at his own party for sucking... or something like that...

My head's messed up right now. I can't guarantee I'm able to make sense of things right now. That's a whole nother subject that I don't want to talk about.

Casual by default really. I want to play a lot of games, but between work and school it never really happens.

I have around 640 trophies on my list but I don't truly consider myself a hardcore gamer. I consider a hardcore gamer as someone who plays to win, and when he does moves on. I stick to the games I have and don't really move on. I'm going to get Uncharted 3 when it comes out.

Then again, I think it depends which game you are playing whether you find yourself as a hardcore gamer or not.
