[15:28] Jcaner09: She grimaced, the bones of animals, small and large alike littered the back of the cave. "I don't think you want to know." She muttered, fighting the nausea rising in her throat. "I don't think we're the only ones who use this cave as shelter during storms....I think we have stumbled upon the wolves den..."

[15:30] spoof2468chan: He stepped back nervously from the back of the cave, "W-wolves den??" he said, a panicked note in his voice. As another howl pierced the air, very close this time, he swiftly turned to put his back to the inside of the cave again, his eyes widening in fear. "You think they're coming here??"

[15:37] Jcaner09: "That would seem to be the case." She replied wryly. She turned to face the mouth of the cave. "I think it might be best if you tried to stay back, defend yourself if they come for you, but otherwise let me take care of them." She instructed grimly. "Keep your back to the wall!"

[15:39] spoof2468chan: Aryon shivered again, though this time not from the wind. "No problem. I hate wolves! But...are you going to be okay??" he said, panic receding a bit at the idea that he would be behind someone else in the coming attack. He wasn't proud of having a mare defend him, but he also didn't want to die and knew he was pants at defending himself.

[15:52] Jcaner09: "Its good to have a healthy respect for such creatures, I'll admit, being cornered in a cave by a pack of wolves...and in the dark, is not exactly my idea of a good time." She shivered, the adrenaline already starting to thrill through her system, she was afraid of course, but she shoved the feeling off to the very corner of your mind, it would do no good here. "We'll want to scare them enough so that they'll leave us alone. I don't think we can take down the entire pack ourselves. Luckily, there isn't enough room for them to surround us."

[15:56] spoof2468chan: Aryon nodded nervously, he could almost hear the wolves closing in now and he was feeling trapped. He was pretty sure this was no one's idea of a good time ((elsewhere Knucklebone sneezed lol)). "Okay...look intimidating...eh. Right" he said nervously. Too bad his father had flutter in him, Aryon was rather small for a stallion and he knew it. He drew level with most mares, Ellette was a good 3 hands taller than he was being a war horse. He tried not to tremble and put a scary look on his face. Hopefully his horn would come in handy.

[16:13] Jcaner09: Snarling, the wolves spread out to cut off all escape routes, food was scarce in the cold months, they could not afford to let such an easy meal get away. The first wolves slunk through the entrance, nipping at the female's flanks and drawing her away from the stallion. A small group broke off to harry him, his scent was sharp with fear, they would take him down first.

16:16] spoof2468chan: Aryon panicked at the sudden appearance of the wolves, lashing out with his front hooves and catching one of the wolves in the side. He surprised himself at that and paused briefly in shock. This was not the best of ideas as it gave another wolf a chance to go after him. Hadn't they been further away??

[16:47] Jcaner09: : Ellette screamed in defiance, laying about her with her hoofs and snapping her teeth at any wolf foolish enough to get in her way. There was a sick crack as her hooves connected with bone and one of their attackers collapsed in a limp heap upon the floor. A deep burning pain stabbed into her flank as one of them sunk its dagger like fangs into the meaty muscle of her thigh, she gasped and lashed out with her back hooves, again her attacker slumped to the ground. Hot blood pumped down her leg, slowing her movements but thankfully the pain hadn't hit yet. She backed up until she was side by side with Aryon, cursing herself for her foolishness at not taking her own advice. Almost as soon as it had started, it was done. Abandoning their dead, the remaining pack members scampered off into the night. Ellette collapsed to the ground with an breathy exhale, "That was brilliant Aryon!"

[16:50] spoof2468chan: Aryon panted with the remaining adrenaline still coursing through his veins. He had taken one of the wolves out all by himself, and made quite the mark in a couple others with his horn...looking over at Ellette he registered the praise at his performance. "I...wow." he muttered, surprised that they were even alive. At that he noticed that Ellette was bleeding, "My god, you're bleeding!" he exclaimed.

[16:55] Jcaner09: Ellette shifted her weight and winced, "Its nothing" she assured him with a grin at their victory but her face was strained, "I don't think they'll come back, and we'll want to get rid of these bodies before they start putrefying, we can drag them out of the cave for now but the further away we can move them from here, the better, we don't want the smell to attract something even worse than wolves."

[17:00] spoof2468chan: Aryon winced at the though of something worse...but he nodded. Coming closer to her he tried to covertly examine the wound. It didn't look bad, but it looked painful. Being only partial uni, he couldn't heal completely but he could at least jump start it. "I can help, gimme a second to concentrate." with that, he closed his eyes and lowered his horn to the wound, causing it to scab over quickly and hopefully easing some of the pain.

[17:05] Jcaner09: Ellette's eyes widened as she watched the wound knit before her eyes, "How remarkable! Thank you Aryon, I admit I was concerned about how well it would heal without proper care." Her leg was sore, but the pain was bearable, "I didn't know such a thing was possible! How did you manage it!?"
