"Of course I heard you," Jack said flippiantly. "I just ignored it."
He was a little disappointed about what the kid said about the women, though the kid's red face was promising. "Hey really, that's it? With Team Rocket being such a big group, I'd think there'd be ladies interested in a little... more."
Jack noticed that Agnes was lagging behind when the elevator came and backed up to give her a nudge with one foot. She snorted and glared at him but did move a little faster and they eventually entered the elevator as well. He turned to look at Leonard and waggled his eyebrows just to get a reaction.

"No. Nononono." Leonard couldn't help but feel flustered by his questions. And the look he's giving him. And the fact they were trapped in this elevator.
"Ok, maybe there might be women interested. But don't try to hit on every female you see. There's more scarier ones than tolerant ones. I mean, there's one Elite that's just as old as me. She's small, has pink hair, so you'd think she's doable. But rub her the wrong way and you get a knife at your throat. And you know, most of them are probably taken too."
He stopped to take a deep breath. He couldn't believe he was talking about this. Let's hope there's not security cameras in the elevators.
"Do you have any other questions! I mean, change of topics! Seriously!"

Jack swallowed his snickering but allowed himself a sh*t-eating grin to appear on his face. Ha, the kid was very obviously uncomfortable at this point. Though the info on the pink-haired elite was definitely interesting, Leonard's reaction was much more amusing.
"Okay then." Jack decided to give the kid a break and change the subject, tucking his hands in his pocket. "What was that black device you were waving around awhile back? When you said you 'studied' me."

Leonard let out a sigh of relief. Time to regain his composure. And any dignity if he had any left.
"It's a Pokedex. Team Rocket's standard issue. Along with recording data on Pokemon you've met and obtained, it's also like a Pokenav. Your superiors can contact you through it, mission and assignment information is available through it, and stuff like that.
"You'll get yours after we finished the tour." Though at this rate, he was considering not giving it to him. Don't bite the hand that guides you.
After what felt like eternity, the doors opened to reveal a spacious room filled with couches and vending machines.
"The recreational facilities. There's a room for video games, quiet places if you want to read, a pool table... Like for the game, not a swimming pool."

Jack bobbed his head in understanding. The Pokedex actually sounded kinda cool, though he wouldn't say anything like that to the kid of course. He just hoped that Agnes wouldn't break it or anything. Her smoke had the tendency to get everywhere.
Jack craned his head around the recreational facilities. It was surprisingly... empty. There were only a few people milling about. "Where is everyone?" He asked Leonard. "I'd think there'd be more people here?"

Leonard was hoping Jack didn't notice. But he did. He was damn perceptive.
"Well um..." He hoped that the lack of people wasn't because of the raid, but maybe it was. "There was a raid. A lot of people got hurt. Like... really badly. And their friends, they would be upstairs hanging out in the infirmaries with them instead of down here."
After pointing out several more things about this floor, Leonard headed back to the elevator. Staying silent. The next destination was the one place he wanted to avoid since coming back here.

Oh.
Huh.
Jack stood awkwardly in the elevator, not really sure what to say. He could ask about the raid, but he didn't think it would be a good idea to keep on picking at the topic, when it seemed the raid had gone badly. "Eh... So where are we going next?" He asked, uncomfortable in the silent elevator.

"The first floor. I mean the first floor above ground floor. That's where the cafeteria is, along with offices and infirmaries." Leonard sounded like he was reciting something. His voice was flat as the elevator was going up. "Why don't they call the underground floors negative 1 or something? It'd be easier to know what I'm talking about."
No, really, what the heck was he talking about now? Why was he rambling to the guy that was pissing him off a while ago?
The elevator opened up and revealed a hallway. This one was busier than the others, with most of the commotion coming from the left wing. Leonard veered right.
"This way is to the cafeteria. I... wouldn't recommend eating here, because we don't hire professional cooks or anything. Grunts take turn cooking. Which means yes, you will have to endure the torture one day."

Leonard was rambling on about floors and Jack was getting... bored. Bringing up the raid had dampened things and now the tour was just that; a tour. He followed the kid as they arrived at another hallway and noted how he went the less busy route. And now he was talking about the cafeteria. And cooking?
"Oh, cooking? Great. That's wonderful." Jack piled on the sarcasm but kept his tone deadpan. "I suck at that. And I don't even want to think about how well you cook. So, if not the cafeteria, what other options are there for food?"

"There's some cafes on this level. If you can live on coffee. Or once they trust you enough you can hit the towns and the food there." Leonard noticed that Jack wasn't pushing his buttons anymore. Was he sobered by the raid? He should be, if any part of him was human.
He continued forward, turning this way and that. This part of the base was quiet, since the people here were for work and not for play or eating.
"The main offices. When you're assigned a mission you'll come down here to get what information wasn't given through your Pokedex. And other mission-y stuff like that."
Leonard was being nonsensical again. He better wrap the tour up quick before he embarrassed himself. Further. So he walked with a brisk pace, past some rooms where people were lying in beds and being attended to by nurses but he didn't say anything about that.
