Despite the slow take off, his large wings helped to propel him into the front of the pack. Scarath was determined to chase the green, but he also was careful not to hurt any of the others chasing. Her flirting intrigued him and lead him onward.
No! That bronze's massive muscles, his power on take off, was giving him an advantage. Opeth snarled up at the brute; his lead would not last!

Ah, two of the bronzes had pulled in closer, and poor Lifth was starting to fall behind. Keep going, Lifth! was what her next melodic bugling seemed intended to say, though she didn't forget Plexith and Scarath, as she trilled once more before moving into a series of acrobatic rolls in the air to try and shift out of the way, make them a work just a bit harder--after all, she did not mean to be an easy catch!
Lerath clawed at the air as they climbed, but he was outside the slipstream. Knowing he couldn’t compete against the bronzes’s stamina, he curled his left wing, and with a scream of challenge and warning, barrel rolled between two blues staggered over one another. Miraculously, the maneuver put him within the group once more, but no further ahead of the others.
Lifth was more than a bit frustrated when several of the much larger bronzes pulled again. He wanted to vent his frustration with them, but remained cool and decided to try a different tactic for now. He flew down low in hopes to catch Sleeth if she made any dives his way. He was not about to give up just yet.
Her rolls caught him a bit off guard and he lost some ground to her aerobatic display, it was after all his first flight and he'd been so caught up in her cheerful callings that he'd failed to react swiftly enough as she played her games.
Though he'd gotten off to a slow start - too distracted by the color of two of his competitors, perhaps - Pipith finally got going for real. Sort of. He passed a couple of the blues, at least, but the younger bronzes were still ahead of him. The dragon rumbled unhappily and dug deeper. Surely he could win this green!
S'kor stood with the other riders grouped around the green's rider. All his attention was taken by his dragon.
Scarath jerked slightly as a blue snarled at him. He hadn't meant to get in the way! A croon worked it's way from his throat as he watched the green preform some pretty rolls. Trying to follow, his bulk wouldn't allow the bronze to gain any ground on the agile green.
Another blue screamed a challenge and Scarath answer back with another of his brassy calls. He wasn't the only one here!

Ooh! Her trick had worked! Sleeth bugled merrily as she sped ahead on agile wings, but she could feel her efforts in the air starting to take their toll. She didn't expect to keep outflying the others for much longer now, but she'd keep them on their draconic toes! Now, for a quick dive and roll!
Having ducked into the main group, Lerath found himself squarely behind the rump of one of the trailing bronzes. He roared, indignant, but it made no difference, and he didn’t dare risk pushing through just yet. Tangled wings might hinder whatever other male he came against, but he couldn’t afford any extra setback himself. He wouldn’t have the strength to catch up if he fell behind.
Plexith was close to the green..but Scarath it seemed was closer and he fumed silently as the other bronze seemed to catch her right before his very eyes.
'It was only your first try' D'lin consoled his agitated bronze even as he stumbled off to find someone willing to see to his needs.
Scarath felt his ichor heat from the flight and challenges from the other males. He would give them a challenge back. The bronze bumped his wings to gain more speed. Then seeming in out of no where the green dived then rolled right toward him. It was too much as he latched on and claimed her for himself.

No! Lifth couldn't help but let out an an angry bugle as the bronze cut in and claimed the green, but he quickly cut it off and regained control of his senses. He had lost this time perhaps, but another time he would win. Besides, he couldn't entirely begrudge Scarath his victory, given how nice the other was. The blue turned away and teleported back to the Weyr.

Sleeth had just started on another call, when suddenly Scarath moved quickly to catch her, taking her quite by surprise. It was a nice surprise though! And it felt so nice, to be held...
Akaya was little better, firmly ensnared in her dragon's mind as she drew S'kor to a more private setting, all doubts and inhibitions long gone in intensity of the Flight that seemed to have lasted for far too long...
