Burakku_Kitsune An Exceed Summon can be conducted when there are two or more monsters of the same Level on the field. Those monsters can be used as Material Monsters to Summon an Exceed Monster whose Level is equal to the combined Levels of the monsters on the field. Material Monsters are not sent to the Graveyard. Instead, they are used as overlay. 'Overlay? That bugs me. Not because of the monsters in general. I am not competitive enough to care about game mechanics being changed, but I am not sure what they mean by overlay. Is this something that exists already in the game? In my mind I imagine someone placing a monster ontop of another monster." That's what I thought it was, but how can you do that for two monsters of the same level, which in essence occupy 2 monster card slots? It would be a problem unless the monster takes up 2 monster card slots anyway.

I bought the new V-jump (for the Machinecle card) and there's a chapter for Zexal in it. Now this may be just because i can't read a single character, but this makes no sense to me @_@;;;

I think that they mean to replace, or substitute like the tag-out from glad beasts, the monsters would probably be removed from play while that monster is in use, and after it gets destroyed or removed from the field the monsters used for the summon would be brought back, either that or it would just mean sacrificing them for a monster that has dual tribute integrated and not just an effect.....I really don't know how to make sense of it...the changing of game mechanics is always radical and difficult so we'll have to wait till they release the excess monsters to see how they really work....

Basically, their idea is that you place one monster over top of the other (in the same monster card zone) and then lay the Exceed Monster on top of them as well Her's a rough diagram: Exceed Summon

Ok,other monsters with similar summoning conditions destroy the required monsters to balance it out but Excess Summoning only requires them to be Overlay, it's only fair to destroy them when the monster summoned is destroyed to balance things out...

I'm sure this will all be explained more clearly when it becomes relevant to us.

Wow that's what I was thinking and I have to say when synchros came out I saw them and said WTF because it had a fresh, new look to it, but these exceed monsters look wetawded

Simply put: Exceed summon sounds stupid. It sounds like they were just fishing for ideas.

If they wanted ideas, why not go back and improve Ritual monsters or Spirit monsters or Gemini monsters or Assault Modes or some other kind of card that doesn't get enough credit.
The entire concept of Excess Summoning is ridiculous and, as the name implies, excessive.

Fresh Porn Sexual Weed axean . i have my doubts about this excess summon, but hopefully it might just force them to increase the size of the extra deck. From what I heard, it's gonna be in the main deck. What a waste of space. rofl Can you say reason to run trade in at 3 for every deck? Lawl, word! XD. But it will depend on certain Exceed monsters. "Of course it will be the 1st one. ;P

The first Excess Synchro to be revealed thus far is something called "Aero Shark", a Level 6 Excess Monster. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Aero_SharkOther than the fact that it's an Excess monster, few other details have been revealed.
