He chuckles at the question and shakes his head. "Oh no, that was a long time ago. It was my great grandfather who found the unicorn, not I." He said in amusement. He'd always heard such great stories about his grandfather. He'd tried to be like him his whole life in fact.

"Oh." She said. She considered this thoughtfully for awhile, and then, "...So if that's a replica. Where's the real horn?"
She'd have to ask someone about all this later. Oath, maybe. She knew lots of stuff. Maybe she knew what all this was about.

"It was used up over the years to cure any sickness my old Pack had. Unfortunately it ran out three or four years ago, about the time I was born, and everyone died." He said with a sigh. Then he paused and thought about it. Maybe eh shouldn't have said that, since puppies were very impressionable. "Er-, well...The horn replica has kept me safe all these years." He says with a nervous chuckle.

She looked at him shrewdly. "Sounds like you're bad luck," she said, quite bluntly, the the lovable honesty of a pup -- not meant to be mean, but merely stating the facts as she saw them. "There's a puppy here like that. From the other litter," she stressed 'other' like it was a proper noun. "She's bad luck everywhere she goes."
And that was true. Glory had learned long ago now that Rabbit's Luck was generally best avoided unless you wanted to see something really humiliating, or worse, get pulled into some bad situation.

Rua was brought up short by this. Then he gave himself a shake and brushed off the comment. He'd heard worse from older, bigger wolves. "Perhaps. But I have sworn to vanquish all evil, and I'll work to accomplish that bad luck or no." He responds just as bluntly. In many ways Rua was like a pup himself. He was clumsy, not very good with words, and he single mindedly pursued his goal without considering the consequences of his actions. But he took it all in stride. "And is something wrong with this other litter?" He asks curiously, noting how much emphasis she put on the word.

Well, if he said so. Vanquishing evil sounded alright. He'd done OK with the bush, after all.
"They're all a bunch of weirdos, is what's wrong with them," she said, in response to his question. She had all but forgotten her run-in with the bush now -- despite it looking like the end of the world a few minutes ago -- and she pulled herself into a seated position. "They all have this weird gross animals hanging around with them. Some of them are dead, too, I think." It was kind of hard to tell sometimes.
She started to go off about what a know-it-all jerk Conk was, to drive in the point, but decided against it. Best not to bring up stuff like that around grown-ups. They acted dumb about things sometimes.
"But. Tell me about vanquishing evil," she said. It took some effort to get the word "vanquishing" out, but she managed. "What kind of evil? Where do you find it?" Her eyes narrowed suspiciously. "And don't tell me just rocks and bushes and stuff. Any idiot can do that."

Well, she was quite the firecracker. He didn't approve of the way he talked about the other litter though. That certainly wasn't very nice. But maybe he'd bring up the point later if she decided to hang around. "Evil comes in all forms." He says and absently flicks his tail. "It can inhabit the mind as well as the body. It could be a cruel word about another, or a murder upon a pack member. There's no end to the roots of evil. It corrupts anyone and everyone for its own gains." He says, speaking as if evil were a tangible thing bent on destroying the world. Which to him, it was.

"What's it look like?" She asked, mulling this over. Part of her -- the part that thought he was a sparkly rainbow quack -- wondered if she could find a way to make a certain other rainbowy someone look like evil. The other part of her was genuinely curious.

"It comes in many forms. And you can't really see it per se. But you can certainly feel it. It will feel...wrong." He says, not really knowing how to explain it any other way. "Your conscious will tell you when something is wrong. That voice in your head that tells you not to do something you'll regret later? That usually helps. Or your gut, your gut almost never lies." He said, trying to convey what he meant in a sort of jumbled way.

"The voice in my head?" She asked, thoroughly stymied. There were supposed to be voices in her head? And his gut? Her gut never talked. She wasn't sure about his, but hers certainly did not, unless it was hungry. What did being hungry have to do with evil? This whole thing was baffling.
But intriguing.
Getting into trouble was a lot of fun. But getting into trouble...for the sake of conquering evil...sounded a lot more fun. Besides, nobody could yell at her for that!
"Tell me more!" Her tail gave a little wag and, slowly, a subtle change formed in the rowdy pup, as though she'd been given a new purpose in life.

Rua smiled gently at the pup. Perhaps he'd have a new protege? A new squire, per se? This sounded good to him. And besides, he loved pups. They had so much potential and so much opportunity to do good in the world. So he laid down comfortably on his belly so he was more on level with her.
"Well, defeating evil is a very serious task you know." He says seriously and stares intently into her eyes. "I've been doing it for years and haven't even scratched the surface. But I like to think I've saved many wolves from injuries and perhaps even saved a few lives." He says a little proudly and puffs out his chest. "You have to keep your eyes peeled for anything suspicious." He says and pauses, waiting to see if she was listening.

Saving lives? That sounded fascinating! And really important. Glory wanted to be important.
She leaned forward, her nose nearly touching Rua's. Her eyes were wide and genuinely fascinated. "Will you teach me how?"

(Do you want to do the teaching in this RP or start a new one? X3)
"I certainly can Miss Glory." Rua chuckles. He was very pleased someone was listening to him and seemed genuinely curious how he worked. He felt a connection to the small pup, thinking he might be able to take her under his wing and teach her a few good things. He gave her a companionable lick on the head and stood up, arching his back with a grunt before shaking himself.

"Okay," she said, and gave a tail thump. "We'll start...tomorrow, then." And just like that, she was already taking charge. She was pretty sure she knew a pushover when she saw one. But he seemed like a useful pushover. "I'd better go check in with my mom and stuff. But tomorrow -- we'll start, yeah?"
Without waiting for a response, she bounded off.
Oddly, she couldn't wait to tell Conk. Even if she didn't want to see his ugly mug ever again.
((we'll resume in a new thread methinks smile give her time to go brag to her buddies lol))

Rua chuckles again and nods. "I'll see you then. I'll be around." The older wolf says and watches her bound off before she could even hear him. Pups were always amusing to him, even if he was a big pushover. He didn't mind. You were only that innocent once in your life and you might as well relish while you can. He shook his head and smiled as he trotted off to his own den.
(Sounds good ^^)
