"We do not have swings where i live now. At the orphanage we had lots of swings. But my care giver does not have a yard. Well, not one big enough for the placement of swings. It is a house in the city. What i believe she refers to as a 'historic town home' so it does not have an area for swings. I have not been on a swing in some time." Nora engaged in some more blinking while staring at Cambria, still clutching her papers and pencils. Her little feet just barely touching the ground.

"Well you could go to the park?" Duh. This kid was way weird. It kind of made her want to start poking her again. What more was there to do? At least trying to figure out how her mind ticked was somewhat entertaining.

"Park? What is that? I've never been to a park." Nora said quietly, almost to herself. "I do like to go outside though and i do enjoy the time i get to spend with my care giver's animal, the cat." Nora straightened her dress out and fixed the pleats in the fabric. She then stared at Cambria some more, wondering what they would do next. Nora had never instigated a conversation, let alone carried one very well. She was very isolated and had never been around people who she enjoyed the company of for long. She did enjoy the care giver's company and perhaps, one day, she would come to enjoy the creature Cambria's company as well. So Nora sat and waited for a moment while she fixed the pleats in her dress.

"You've never been to a park!? That sucks! A park's a place where there're lotsa trees and grass and benches and swings and slides and jungle gyms and seesaws and a whirly turny thing and maybe even a baseball diamond or a soccer field." Cambria liked parks, it was easy to give Alice the slip and actually enjoy herself. However Cambria thought cats were prey. "Alice's cat, Fluffy, is evil. He tried to suff... suff... suffocate me! So I yanked his tail." and dumped water on him, and put him in a box, and painted his fur, and....

Nora thought that the hatred of a cat was odd. She enjoyed the company of Bronnson, who was a beautiful black and white Norwegian Forest Cat. "I am sorry to hear that the cat tried to suffocate you." Nora blinked before continuing onward, "I have never been to a park. I have also never been on any of the other contraptions which you speak of. I have only been on swings and a slide. Which is all the orphanage had where i grew up." She moved her feet back and forth a little the tip of her small boots scuffing the floor underneath the chair.

"That's ok." She said about the cat. "I got him back good. And you should totally go to the park! There's lotsa nifty stuff there to do. And sometimes people drop change on the paths! I like it when that happens. 'Specially when it's shiny change." Cambria didn't know what "contraptions" were but she guessed it was a fancy way of saying "things".
Cambria grabbed one of the hoarded pencils and then snatched a clean piece of paper from Nora. She started doodling on the page, drawing out the things she'd mentioned. "This's a whirly turny thing, and this's a seesaw, one person sits on each end and pushes the other into the air. And this's a jungle gym, you climb it." The drawings weren't terrible for a little girl. She'd at least got the shapes right, and they were recognizable.

"I see," said Nora, "the mechanics of such devices are quite simple." Nora studied the drawings and then stashed them into her notebook for further study of, 'whirly turny things' and 'seesaws'. "I also like change," stated Nora, "Which is why i like when the tooth fairy comes and takes away my older calcium deposits in my mouth and exchanges them for currency. Even though the likelihood of such a thing being real is preposterous." Nora blinked and opened her notebook to begin examination of the physics of the 'whirly turny things' and 'seesaws'.

"Calci-what? You know what? Nevermind." Cambria was tired of feeling as dumb as cat poo. Cambria was somewhat pleased that Nora was a fan of her scribblings but things had gotten complicated and incomprehensible again.
"Now what's this about a tooth fairy giving away shiny change?" Alice had never told her anything of the sort, and Derrick had been watching the football game when her first "older calcium deposit" fell out. Alice had thrown away the tooth, which Cambria thought unfair since she'd wanted to make a necklace out of it. And now to find out she could have gotten sparklies for it? Horrible!

"Yes, the tooth fairy. A most interesting tale. Apparently when you loose a tooth, you put it under your pillow. In the dead of night the tooth fairy invades your home, and effectively takes the tooth under your pillow. Thus leaving you shiny change in exchange for the tooth. However i strongly doubt that the 'fairy' part is real. Probably some kind of social myth. But i have received currency under my pillow after my tooth fell out." Nora engaged in some more blinking. "If i am not mistaken, then the larger the tooth the more 'shinys' for it you will receive. However, that also could be a social myth." Nora started to swing her feet back and forth a bit more under her chair and intertwined her fingers together, tilting her head a bit to the side she watched Cambria.

Cambria was stuck in silent horror at how she'd been deprived of a way to get shinies that everyone knew about. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair at all. If looks could cause physical pain. Alice would be dead. She didn't even have her baby teeth to put under her pillow for compensation. Derrick had finally made her stop chasing Alice with them and throw them out.
Cambria was deep in the pit of despair. How could she have missed such an important event? Was there anything else that she should know about?!
"Is there anything else like that?!"

"You could always celebrate Easter. A holiday in which a rabbit comes into your home and hides a basket of chocolate, various candy's, and trinkets and toys. Other then that i do not recall of any other holidays or occurring much like the tooth fairy." Nora sat with her hands folded in her lap. She wanted something to eat. She glanced at her care giver, who was arguing on the phone with someone over what appeared to be an item purchased from a catalog. Nora did not understand catalogs.

Cambria took a couple moments to ponder the idea of a rabbit bringing her chocolate and toys. Were these baskets tailored to the individual child? Would she get tinfoil? What about beads? She liked beads. Maybe the rabbit would bring her some of those. Trinkets did sound promising.
And why the heck was she the only one gypped by the tooth fairy? Now she'd have to hunt down some fairies and get compensated. Or at least fix what was wrong. She wanted her shiny coins, dag nab it.
"So when is this easter? And how do we get on the rabbit's good side? I want tinfoil."

Nora blinked again and pushed her hair out of her eyes. "One does not 'get on the rabbits good side', it just happens. He is not a practicer of favoritism as the fabled Santa Klaus. Easter is in April, there are in actuality, three of them. But they are religiously affiliated gatherings. I am unsure as to whether or not the rabbit will bring you your most prized possession of tin foil. He usually brings things to consume." Nora switched her feet around from their position to a more comfortable one. She then began to count things in the room in her head, making a mental documentation of all of the magazines, coffee cups, people, watches, eyeglasses, and book she could see. She cataloged them and would write them down later, when she had a chance.

Cambria was about to open her mouth and ask if the "consumables" came in tinfoil when the doctor finally called Alice's name and she was suddenly plucked from the floor and carried off to the doctors office. "Bye!" she waved. How rude of Alice. She decided to mess with her make up collection later.
