"Alright. I'll get my trio up by the lake and wait for you." Wykla, knowing what was coming, was already dressed in her worst clothes. She'd hated them, but found them much better than getting her nice stuff very dirty. No point in it and getting yelled at by the Headwoman. "They do get better when they get older. Sleep longer too." She ruefully remembered Boreal's first wake up call. It had not gone over pleasantly for the young girl.
"Mmmmm don't short him though. He's a growing flit and needs food. You might as well stuff him til he sleeps." She watched Shedrawn dash off, then pulled herself to her feet. Scooping up the sleepy green and putting her on her free shoulder. "I don't know how I'm going to take both of you trying to strangle me," she commented to no one as the green's tail automatically went around her neck in the opposite direction of Boreal's.
Kameth. It's time for you're bath. Get up. Lets go. Gently caroling the sleepy blue up, she lead him toward the lake. His stuff was already there where she'd left it. Or mostly. Wykla suspected the drudges might come and take it in during the night and bring it back in the morning. They brought it back, so she wasn't going to complain.

Shedrawn arrived at the lake, oil in hand and excited firelizard crawling ALL over hime, "Yes yes you first your lordship," he soothed his flit. "Then you can help with Kameth." He greeted Wykla again and rinsed his flit down and dried him as the lake was right there and he didn't want to rub in any dirt, least Isdrayon get uncomfortable. He proceeded to rub the oil in in little circles while Isdrayon hummed along. Scratching eye ridges with an unoily hand Shedrawn had almost lulled the little bronze right to sleep.

Wykla snickered at the baby bronze's attitude. It was cute in a way. She sent her two flits into the lake to get good and wet. Keeping an eye on them, she rolled up her pants and grabbed a couple handfuls of sweetsand. Wykla called Boreal over then started to soap the flit down. She made sure he was covered in suds before sending him back out to rinse. The process was repeated with Fescues.
"Alright, Kameth. C'mon and get in the water." She watched as the blue slowly pulled himself out of his wallow. Her lips smirked as she retreated from the water and Kameth went in. As she predicted, the blue's wings started to send a large spray up and out.

Shedrawn wasn't paying attention and got himself and Isdrayon thoroughly soaked, much to the firelizard's annoyance. He squawked and raved in Shedrawn's ear. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he vigorously rubbed more oil on the lizard in the hopes of calming him down again, when he was done he set Isdrayon down on a clean rock and wrung out his shirt. He didn't mind water but he didn't like to be covered in it unexpectedly. At least now as he approached Wykla and Kameth he knew what was coming, so he would not mind getting wet as much, Not so for his firelizard who was sunning far away from the water that had nearly ruined his oiling.

Wykla chuckled a little when Shedrawn came over. "Sorry about that. I should have warned you." Soap in hand she approached the blue and started on the delicate skin around his face. Her hand gently made sure his face was clean; then she had him duck his head under the water while she checked that all the sweetsand had come off.
"Boreal, Fescues come help." She watched as the two flits carried wet sweetsand up to start scrubbing the ridges. "So....." Wykla tried to think fast. "Any patches of rough skin on Isdrayon?" She wouldn't think so with the oiling he'd given the little flit, but it was something to talk about.

"Nope, not today, usually if he finds it he demands to be oiled anyway, although I do oil him twice daily. He decides that he needs it more often sometimes wether there are rough patches or not. So it is very rarely that I find any at all." Shedrawn replied. "He is very smart he just doesn't always use it constructively." Shedrawn shrugged.

"That's good to hear." She giggled.
Wykla worked her way down the blue's body. It was tiring and demanding work. Finally thought, she was sure the blue was as clean as he could get. She sent him off to deeper waters to rinse off completely.
Leaving the chilly water a shiver caught her as a brisk wind blew against her. Hopefully she'd be warmer once she dried out, otherwise she'd take a hot bath to warm up.
"Boreal, oil." Settling down into her accustomed spot with oil and rags right at hand. Wykla got the bronze flit settled onto her lap and began oiling him.

"The sun is warm today, I like it, although I can't see much." He squinted. Malvren was a pretty Weyr, if you ignored some of the craggy rough edges. He tilted his head back enjoying the breeze but lost his balance and stumbled a bit. Sigh. He wasn't often clumsy but when he was it was often in public. Or semi-public.

"Mmmmmmm." Engaged in oiling Boreal, with the flit humming happily, and a begging Fescues poised at the edge of her lap, she didn't see the boy stumble. When both flits had been completely oiled, Wykla called Kameth out of the water. The little blue dragon had been practicing his flying with much wing flapping. Time for oiling Kameth, then you can go sleep off you're meal.
She smiled when her dragon came over and scratched his eyeridges. "Do you want to help oil his wings?"

"Of course," Shedrawn replied cautiously approaching the striking blue, there were no other dragons with near his color, and Shedrawn loved the bright design. He gently took the oil and began to gently massage it into the delicate light blue membrane. He made sure his oiling was even and thorough, paying attention to detail as the wings would one day carry both rider and dragon through the skies of Pern. Yes a finer blue he had never seen and he said as much to Wykla as he was working.

Wykla moved to work down his chest and his front legs. She was slowly becoming accustomed to the amount of work he required. Her muscles were getting stronger and she could endure more. The first couple of days she'd been stiff as a board with pain. Now thankfully it wasn't much more than a mild ache in the morning. A hot bath quickly soothed it away.
Idly she wondered if Ralae would notice any physical changes in her when she got back. Sometimes her mind drifted while she oiled, to make the time go faster. If she missed a spot Kameth would tell her.
Kameth was standing politely as His oiled his face then down his neck. He liked her soft, gentle hands as they rubbed the oil in. His eyes whorled a happy blue, nearly matching his hide.
With his in front of him, between his feet, the blue was surprised to feel a second set of hands on his wings. He turned his head quickly to identify who it was. Kameth watched Shedrawn for a moment then politely opened his wing.

Shedrawn was happy that the blue seemed to accept him and Kameth even opened his wing a bit so Shedrawn could oil it proper. he was ever careful with the light blue membrane. he would never want to hurt ANY dragon and so he was very gentle. Shedrawn again wondered what color he would get, if he got one, certainly this was a beautiful blue with bright striking colors. Wykla must be so proud. As he worked Shedrawn quietly sang a fishing song, he wasn't a bad singer, despite what he told everyone but he wasn't on par with most other harpers.

Finished with the blue's front she popped up to check on Shedrawn and the little flits. "How's it going?" She grinned as she saw that Kameth had stretched open a wing. Her hand moved to brush her black hair back, leaving a streak of oil.
"So what are your thoughts about your first dragon oiling?" She hoped they would be good. Kameth was a sweet dragon and not mean tempered like some. She checked that the flits had scrubbed the oil in along the ridges well.
Kameth gave a soft hum to show his appreciation for the gentle help. Boreal perched on Kameth's back with his front paws on a ridge. He looked down at the two humans and trilled.

Isdrayon disturbed himself enough to go land on Shedrawn's head comically, and chirp back at his father. " I find it quite relaxing and I'm happy to see this guy again I remember him from the touching." Shedrawn told her. "I think I will enjoy this aspect of having a dragon, if/when I get one." He paused i his oiling to stroke the bronze firelizard who had grabbed talonfulls of hair to steady himself. Isdrayon rubbed his head against Shedrawn's fingers. The bronze warbled at the affection.

Boreal chittered back at his offspring. He should be helping His. His oiled soaked wings flashed in the sunlight. Fescues gave a small cheep.
Wykla tilted her head. She grinned, "It's relaxing until you have to do it yourself and they itch everywhere! What did you think of him at the Touching?" Her hand affectionately rubbed Kameth's closest eyeridge.
