Barth ended up with a Carol of Bells as well, a two-punch combo of being lightest to carry and easiest to use. The pills were small enough to pocket, he just hoped he didn't get them mixed up with his peppermint points at some crucial juncture.

He mumbled an improvised marching tune to himself.

"Trudging through the snow,
I hope we don't get slain
who knows how far we'll go
since some gnomes crashed our train.

Bells and wreaths and bags,
cannons, snow, and lights
All-of-us-are-going-to-die-if we get in a fight.
"

To Simone he said, simply, "Very."

But, like Alwine said, it was good that most of their car was alright. For now. He wasn't optimistic about the long term.

Alwine turned around and wiped a piece of snow off of her shoulder almost like someone with a head would wipe away a tear from their cheek.

"Barth!! You're alright!" She ran through the snow, tripped and stumbled, but managed to give him a hug, too. "This is great, my friends are okay!"

She looked up and tilted her neck. "You sing well, did you audition for the school play?"

Tsetsiliya was beginning to feel nervous again, realizing that she didn't really know anybody in the present company. It was best to have comrades in times like these, wasn't it? It beats trudging through unknown lands without a soul to talk to, after all. She clutched the wreath and glanced from face to unknown face.

The headless ghost bemoaned the loss of her camera, and really, her heart went out to her. She especially felt sorry for the poor thing having had her lovely dress torn to shreds in the crash. Examining her own outfit, she noticed the large rips and bits torn from the dress and sleeves, but otherwise she was fine. Nothing a little basic repair couldn't fix. All that mattered was that the braided belt was still there and undamaged. That would have terribly upset her - now she knew how the ghoul must have felt.

She unwrapped the long sash from around her waist and draped it over her arm. Then, tottering over to the ghost and the boy she was engaging in conversation, she mumbled to the ghoul, "H-Here.. perhaps you might like my sash for wearing? S-since your dress has been ruined.." It was a breaking-the-ice maneuver with the secret hope she could stay involved in the conversation this time (the train ride had made her so sleepy). But also it was an effort to survive the raid - there was safety in numbers, wasn't there?

Colette dragged her piece-of-crap tent along in whatever direction that gnome had said they were headed, the Carol of the Bells faintly jingling in her bag with every step. Why did she choose the damned thing? Its jingling did nothing but make her sound like a done up reindeer. If anything was looking for a meal, it would be able to find her easily. She grew more annoyed with every step's jingle and rolled her eyes, I might as well have picked the yellow snow..

Her seemingly bad mood was mainly to the fact that she stood in the cold, waiting in hopes of finding a Krumm car companion, when they were in fact ahead of her! She predicted some lonely catching up was in order and was saddened at the idea. She would have to get over it though, it was nothing worth holding a grudge over. She was stuck with everyone once she caught up anyway. Being cold, no pun intended, wouldn't help the situation.

She trudged further until she heard singing just past a snow mound. Very faint, unenthusiastic singing. Either that was one of the dreaded joy-creatures, and she doubted a joy-creature would be as unenthusiastic as what she managed to barely hear, or her group. Colette hurried over the snow mound to see a handful of the Krumm car riders, and she was relieved it wasn't something else. Picking up speed as best she could in heeled boots, she waved with her free hand and called out, "Hey, you guys! Wait!"

Sheeki pulled the Sack Full of Joy over his shoulder and started floating towards the rest of the group. "At least we weren't separated..." Sheeki mumbled to no one in particular. It was frightening to say the least, seeing the sleeping occupants in the Krumm car being carried away to the infirmary tents.

He looked towards Alwine and gave a tight frown. Her dress... At least it would be easier for her to move in since they would be forced to fight (he was starting to dislike the Academy staff). "Sorry about your dress Alwine. Though I don't think it's really important if Barth tried out for the play or not; this doesn't seem safe."

Rain glanced down at her bag, "Is this what?" Was she missing something? "This is one of the weapons. It's like this white stuff around us, only it's yellow. It might be special or something. Why, do you know what it is?"

She didn't have time to question further, she was caught in a tight hug. Alwine certainly was stronger than she appeared! "I had to pull out a bunch of glass, I think I must have flown through a window or something but I'm fine. Can't really kill the undead, except I guess a bullet or some blunt force trauma gets to the brain. Lucky for me, I didn't go out head first!"

She turned to face her friends. At least, she considered them friends. It really didn't take much for her to like someone. "We should try out best to keep together. This place looks really big and we don't know what we'll find here. There could still be that Trail Chaser about, or worse. If anyone is cold, I can take off my hoodie and lend it to you. It's got a few holes in it from the glass I pulled out but it's warm. And don't worry, I have bandages that protect my girly bits, not that there's much of them there. I don't feel the cold really." She barely felt anything. Enough that she knew it was cold to others but nothing that she really felt herself.

She kind of liked it here. It was pretty and different but it wasn't home.

When the announcement of the train crashing came Mandy found herself standing in the middle of the aisle out of reach of things to grab onto. Jac- With a lurch Mandy was thrown to the back of the car, slamming into the wall and blacking out.

Waking with a groan she rubbed her head and clambered out of the car, legs a bit wobbly. As she did so the cold hit her hard causing her to give out a violent shiver. Just barley resisting letting out a girly shriek she quickly zipped up her jacket. As she got to the top she went to clip her skull pin together to seal it when she noticed it wasn't there, the pin had turn off as she was thrown. Oh Jack- was she going to turn into her koala form!?! She couldn't travel like that!

The seconds ticked past and nothing happened causing Mandy to give a small "Huh.". Apparently she spent so much time in human form her natural form had given up asserting itself. Well that was convenient.

Shrugging she tromped her way over to the group of students to listen to the gnomes explanation, having missed Professor Shoxx, and then went to grab her gear. Stuffing the pills in her pocket and using the material of the tent to tie the poles to her back she went to look at the weapons. It really wasn't a hard choice for her, the Tangled Christmas Lights sounded similar to her FEAR so why not go with it?

Finally all ready she looked around for her fellow Krumm Car occupants to team up with when she noticed the gnome calling them on their way. Smiling at the convenience of it she jogged over to join back up to the group, waving and giving a small shout as she got closer, "Hey, wait up!"

Igneous heeded the gnomes' call and joined her group. She had ripped a bit of cloth from the end of her now torn dress and used it to form a makeshift strap to carry her supplies, including the Sack of Joy she had snagged.

"I'm glad most everyone seems ok," she said as she approached. "That crash was no fun! I hope there is a safer way home!"

Barth was getting used to attack-hugs. He chalked it up to the public school experience.

He answered Alwine's question, in spite of Sheeki's protest.

"I did. Under a great amount of duress." Noting some of their party were lagging behind, he added, "We should slow down. For err, Colette and Mandy. To catch up."

He was already slowing down, out of courtesy.

Oh Jack! This girl didn't know what she was holding? Obviously both Mei, and Simone had clued in as soon as their eyes had caught sight of the dreaded substance. "I can assure you, that's not special." Just who the hell supplied THAT weapon anyways? Probably the gnomes. Or may Hellma, if she had a weak bladder? In any case, that was just disgusting!

"Its.. Um.. Never mind." Mei felt pity for whatever creature crossed Rain's path. She would hate to be on the receiving end of that attack. Sticking close to the group, she watched as more people began to separate from the large group and into their assigned ones, letting their little 'army' to grow more.

"Heh heh, this is definitely going to be interesting. I'm glad I didn't miss it." No doubt, she was probably going to get some laughs out of this trip. So much could happen. So much.

Alessa finally shuffled over to join everyone else form their car, muttering something angrily under her breath about perverted snakes and how just because they were low to the ground didn't mean they had permission to peek up people's skirts. Apparently there were other things besides the cold that was bothering her. She carried with her a Christmas Wreath and unfortunately he shapeshifting was a bit...haywire at the moment. For now it left her awkwardly with a tail that, while hidden by her skirt, definitely looked rather strange to anyone who saw it. It wasn't her fault the Jack damned thing wouldn't go away.

"Sorry guys," she mumbled when she finally reached them, "I don't know how I ended up so far away. I'm not sure I want to. It certainly left me with a bruise on my head." She peeked around at everyone, seeming to relax a little now that she wasn't rambling to herself, "Is everyone okay-um..." She didn't know how to finish her thought after seeing Rain's weapon of choice. Well then...right.

There was a brief moment of silence before another voice broke out into the snowy land, in the form of a tirade of light sneezes that richocheted over the landscape. The owner, Jack, had been slightly rocketted from the car when it took it's last skip when it crashed, and he had spent the last couple of minutes trying to find his cat - who had been securely hiding up a tree.

Taking to the group, he and his reunited ally looked at the numbers, noting that a few had been missing since when they were on the train. "Good, I'm glad to see that there's at least most of us here." He murmured out to them, his tail dragging through the snow and his arms curling around his chest, shivering lightly. Jack was not a man to wear too thick of clothing, so he spent most of his steps rubbing his arms up and down to keep warmth, Zwei crying out here and there about how annoying the action was, and that he was a suitable means of warmth.

On his side, he too, had grabbed a Carol of the Bells, only because it was the lightest thing he could get, and with a cat balancing across his shoulders, this could be difficult either way. and he really liked how its sounded.

"Has anyone seen Belladonna?" he asked, as he curled up closer to Alwine, looking down to their group, and then out to the snowy expanse.

(( Merope is stuck in his true undead sea serpent form, armed with a wreath. ))

Merope followed along behind the students, trying to pick the best path possible for his large form. Not to mention he was slow. Despite practicing earlier, the aquatic undead was swiftly becoming annoyed with how close everything was in the forest. At least he was rather tiny for a dragon -- only eight feet from snout to tail-tip mean he wasn't stuck too often between trees and other pieces of annoying foliage.

He kept his wing-like fins pinned to his back, not wanting any tears in the membranes. He liked these fins! In all honesty, if they became ruined he didn't know where to get another pair. Could he call in sick and go home? No, that wouldn't work. With a sigh, the lost-fathoms leviathan pushed himself forward and wiggled, moving like an over-sized snake to catch up to the group.

"I hope we don't have to walk," he rumbled to Igneous when he caught up, "I have enough difficulty moving around here as it is. Now if there was a way to swim back..."

It took quite a bit of work to get around in her shoes and make sure she didn't trip over something under this blanket of white, but she was doing good so far! Soon, Colette managed to join the others and she was happy to see she wasn't the only late one. The Reaper didn't particularly pick anyone to huddle by automatically, but instead she stood in what she figured the general center of the group.

Already a little tired, she dropped her tent and arched her back in a stretch. The white water vapor of her breath came and went as she apologized, "Sorry.. huuh.. for taking so long," she sounded nearly out of breath. The fact that Reapers weren't much physically stronger than humans wasn't a great thing, but she hoped it didn't show. Colette didn't want to look weak in front of others, but the fact she didn't eat anything earlier was catching up with her.

Shoving her racial differences and bad decisions out of mind, Colette regained a normal posture in attempt to look fine and poked at the snow with her boot. "So.. is everyone okay? I didn't miss anything, right?" She would feel terrible if she wasn't around when she was supposed to be and someone got attacked. "I didn't run into anything suspicious on my way up, so we should be okay," she kicked aside some more snow before stuffing her hands in her pockets, "but I didn't see Belladonna either.." Colette was certain she would hear Belladonna before seeing her, what with all the happiness and then drop-of-a-pin whining, but she didn't mention it. She wondered if the Reaper was even okay, she seemed fragile from what Colette could observe.

Mandy gave a little snort of amusement when Sleepy suggested the main group slow down so the rest could catch up, it was nice of him but she could guess that wasn't the only reason he wanted to go slower. Jogging she got level with him and  gave a small smile, "Thanks, I didn't want to run to catch up, this walk sounds like it's going to be long.". Mandy really didn't like that fact, Drop Bears where sprinters not long distance.

"So, ah, I feel sort of obliged to ask this after the mistake with Dasher but why are we stealing from Sandy Claws?", apart from the whole completely opposite from them thing, that seemed a bit of a dodgy reason to her.
