What else could he do? He didn't know what he could do to stop this guy from being upset with him. The painting, the youma investigation, all of it seemed minor in the face of having this boy take Ladon's suspicion to heart and so personally that it ruined his outlook on life and made him feel unworthy of being 'saved'. While he was very unsure why anyone would considering him some holy savior of light, he knew that for some INSANE reason, Billy was taking his advice and his judgment on him to heart. Right now, he didn't have the time to ask him why. He certainly didn't understand it.

But he had nothing more to say. Maybe Billy had been right and if he left, Ladon would deserve not seeing him again, feeling bad, and having been a passing spark in someone's eye. He'd then have plenty of time wondering what had happened and what could have been.

But maybe he deserved it. He'd certainly been alone before, and Billy was sure to realize how silly it was to say those things about him.

Still.

"Don't go." He muttered, looking at the table top and frowning.

Billy couldn't help but smirk a bit before he turned back around to face the other boy, wearing his usual dull expression. Oh, Billy knew he had won, but he was in this for the fun of it. And he was going to drain every drop of fun that he could.

"Yes?"

The Billy he tried to put forth was a tormented soul who had seen the world and all its horridness. It wasn't hard, considering Billy truly regarded a lot of the world as scum anyway. Billy could play the dark knight. The real trial of this game? Keep your distance, yet stay close. And don't fall.

When the boy was still here, he tried to keep him here. For some reason, he felt that if Billy left, he'd go off to live a life of hopeless pessimistic and whatever happened would be a result of what Ladon did. He couldn't live thinking he ruined a good person's faith, and he scrambled to find a way to keep Billy from just giving up.

"I'm really sorry. Would you.....still sit with me?" He said, hoping that once they sat down, he'd have a better chance of talking to the boy. The torn, guarded expression that the silver-haired boy gave him just really ate at him and made him feel like the dirty scum of the city. He should have never opened his big, fat, mouth. He always ruined everything.

When Billy made his move, though hesitant, to sit, Ladon slowly eased into his chair. Then he sat there, watching the boy, wondering what he could say. Apologizing more wasn't going to do anything. He already did that enough and the painter seemed ready to take off. Something else then?

Well, there was plenty on his mind.

"Did you really mean it?" He asked sheepishly. "...about the gem thing?" He didn't know why anyone would associate him with something precious. ".....why did you think that? Just because ...because I'm .." His face flushed cherry red. "..a virgin. He whispered. As if saying it was a crime.

Ah, haha. Thins just kept getting better and better! Ladon couldn't even say virgin without blushing like a tomato! Perfect. Even if there was no true challenge in hooking him, there would be one in perverting this boy.

"I said such because I perceived it to be true. Some would call respectably turning away from sights that would have been best kept behind doors anyway as prudish. It is those people who are part of the many vermin of this world who have come to accept such displays and thereby drain love and sex from its intimate virtue." Hypocrisy? Oh yes. But all in the name of the game.

"I think that if you perceive the rest of the world so virtuously then you are most definitely better than the rest of the worms that make up the majority populace. And as I said before, i do not waste my time on such lowly creatures. I seek out those worthy of my attention. And I was lucky to finally find someone who is exactly what I had been searching for."

Oh, Ladon was what Billy had been searching for, but not in the way that his words made it seem. There was just enough truth in Billy's lies.

They way Billy talked was far above the level of 'like' and 'ums' that most kids their age used, and he felt he was talking to someone who was either very poetic with his speech all the time or that he was greatly above the level of intelligence than he was. Was he a Azure Valley boy? Not knowing what to make of it, he let it pass and listened, taking in Billy's detailed way of describing not only what he wanted, but why – and from what Ladon was piecing together, that thing was him.

……

……..

………..O/////_/////O;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He hardly thought that being a 'prude', as most of the people he talked him said he was, was some sort of virtue that would have been understood by others. Most people thought he was a Debbie Downer and rolled their eyes when he tried to pass on a sense of modesty or manners to them. To have someone not only say it was a good thing, as he was brought up to believe, but to actually find an attribute that brought him up higher than the rest – well, he was a little overwhelmed!

Taking a moment – more than a moment – to look at the boy and check for any apparent holes in the head, he hesitantly asked, "And what exactly are you searching for? What for?" If he just wanted a very worthy friend to hang out with, he wouldn't mind. Not at all. He needed more friends. If….if he thought it was something else…………….well, he wanted to be sure.

"To love and be loved. I will not pretend for a moment that I am anything but a villain, are not villains equally deserving of love?" Again, truths braided with lies. Unknown to Billy this would likely strike a chord with the Negaverse agent within Ladon. The villain within the boy. Well, if he perceived that side of him a villain. However, as mentioned, that was unknown to Billy.

He didn't know how Billy could be a villian and wondered if he really was talking to some maniac that mashed up people in his spare time to make paints. Billy did say he saw monsters, but he wasn't so sure if he was being firmly set in telling the truth or not. Thus far, the boy had appeared honest, and his stern, set confidence and strong words only seemed to reflect a person who was sure in what they said and believed it fully. It was hard to doubt that sort of tone.

"I suppose. Yes. Everyone deserved love." Of course not only was Billy appealing to the Negaverser in him, but also the deserperate romantic as well. Ladon had always been a one person, holding hands, ideas of sharing a house and marriage type of person. Love was a big part of what he approved of aside from the common adoption of lust and flings everyone else seemed to be all about.

It was just that a boy of all things, and a random one at that, would be talking these things to him that were making his hesitant to approach the subject. He still felt on guard, but even he was hopelessly desperate. While he didn't go off and throw himself at anyone, it didn't mean he had spent plenty of hours alone and wondering how nice it would be if he had someone, ANYONE, that would give him the time of day. The real problem with being with anyone was that no one wanted to be with him. As far as boyfriend material went, he was on the bottom of the barrel.

"So....let me get this straight. You..." He resisted the urge to point. "...want to love - uh, go out with ...me?" It WAS what this boy was talking about, right? That a "villain" like him to be saved and love a "gem" like him and somehow be saved by it. That's what it was, right? He hadn't drunk some drugged up, bad hot chocolate. This wasn't a hallucination.

Billy gave a half hearted chuckle, "I apologize if I come off as desperate or anything. But I believe in seizing opportunity as it presents itself. I don't know how long it would take me to find another person like you. But yes."

Whatever role he had to play, he'd play it to the end.

And there was his confirmation, and while Ladon thought that knowing for sure would help him decide what to do next, it didn't. He nodded to show that he understood, and then sat there..........and sat.......and just looked at Billy. He said nothing for a good few minutes.

...because Ladon had no idea what to do. He knew he had two options. A simple 'yes' or 'no'. However, what either one did had a lot attached to it. Saying no meant he went back to his life. True, he would be straight, but he would be alone, and he might come to regret not being more daring, to take an opportunity, and to at least give this love, as weird at it all seemed, a chance.

To say yes would mean he gave it a chance, but he was also stating then and there that he was gay, and that he liked Billy 'in that way'. That was something he hadn't been prepared to decide today, and he wasn't sure he was able to now.

However, a small voice simply said that he wasn't getting married to Billy, and giving it a shot might prove to be the best decision he ever made in his life. The little voice also happened to be very desperate for anything at all as the little voice felt he would die alone and a virgin for the rest of his pathetic life.

And so, slowly, Ladon spoke. "...Okay. Then...yes." He wasn't sure how he went about saying he wanted to go along with someone's desire to date him. 'I do' just wasn't fitting. "Then...a date then?" Right? That's what you did. Right?

He was way over his head and this crazy ride hadn't even started.

Billy gave a satisfied grin. As far as he was concerned, this had been well played, and in the process Billy had formed the character he was supposed to play. And it wasn't...too harmful to his pride. The End Game would restore anything he lost.

"I am glad~ And a date yes.. This hardly counts. I promise, though, I shall come up with something most interesting for us."

The word interesting made him wary and curious at the same time, but he kept any questions on HOW it would be interesting to himself. He'd find out, and hopefully wouldn't be too scared from finding out. For now, he was settling into the idea that he had a date. A first date. His first date ever!

"Well, I guess I'll see you then. You..have my number. So....you can call me whenever." Did that make him sound desperate or not excited enough? Was he hurting Billy's feelings. "I ..look forward to hearing from you." What was that? He sounded like he was applying for a job, not talking about a date. Geez. He was such a dork!

Billy had to return to base and plot. Ah yes, plot. Now that he had the essential ingredient, he now needed to plan, oh so carefully, how he would use it. Use Ladon. The grin Billy gave could have very well been mistaken for gratuitous, and happy, but in truth it was more the grin of a man who was quite satisfied with his own dark plots.

"Yes! My only regret is that you can not contact me~ At the moment a phone of my own is not an option. However, I know where every payphone in this city is located," okay, that was perhaps an exaggeration... "So have no doubt, I will be in touch. I have a painting to finish after all. I pray the monsters don't get to you before then."

Oh, but one already had. And what fiercer a monster than one that lurked in human form?

Whatever nervousness that might have been a primal instict to tell him that he was messing with a tiger or one of those heart-eaters in the concreate jungle of Destiny City was just brushed aside as the peculiar realization that he had a date. His head was to busy swimming with what had just happened and, grippint his heart more, what would be happening.

Strange didn't even begin describing what was going on.

Seeing as he couldn't think of anything more to say and his hot chocolate had long since been forgotten and grown cold as a result, Ladon rose from his seat and nodded. "Oh, I should hope not." He said, voice slightly still high, still on edge from being approached in such a fashion. With that, he debated on what else to say, not wanting to appear cold. "I'll...be waiting for that phone call then. Well...I have to go. I'll see you later." He said, and offered a small wave before turning and walking away.

He had no idea what he was in for.
