This question had Morin scouring his memory for when he could have met her. It would have to be before he left to join Harami, not that he knew he was joining at the time. Then it would be understandable that his memory was fuzzy, he was a bit dare devilish and uncontrollable even sadistic in nature as he dangerously kept taunting a daeva. It was anything to forget the pain Kitsumi had caused by disappearing. "I could have been acting a bit differently, but no I dont want to say I did that either" Morin stated. He would have been civil towards her. He was civil to most foxes unless they set off his sadistic like nature. She didn't so he knew with out a doubt that wasn't the case. "Perhaps it was during a down point in both our lives and we where worried about something else. Well then Faiza its a pleasure to meet you." Morin nodded politely in greeting. He hesitated not liking to give out his name but she had honored him with her own. "I'm Morin"

A small smile actually cracked her normally emotionless face. Faiza really did look pretty when she smiled, but it wasn't something she naturally did much. "Maybe we knew each other in a past life. I have heard souls group together in packs of thirty or so and tend to reincarnate with each other. It could be nonsense of course, but I suppose a little whimsy every now and then does not hurt."
The smile melted away from her features and her expression went back to neutral. "Morin. It is a nice name." She looked him over again. "It seems to fit you well."

Morin smiled along with her having always thought that genuine smiles tended to be very contagious. Morin decided she looked very beautiful smiling but knew not to push the subject until he knew more about her. After all everyone had secrets in their past they didn’t like sharing. “Ah that’s true and some foxes in the India region believe that you only have thirty days before you reincarnated again. However if that where the case would we be reincarnated with the same colors?” Morin laughed again when she mentioned his name suit him. He hardly thought he was dark and swarthy or like the sea. When he was little his mother used to say it was a Japanese name since she was so fascinated with the human warriors that trained in the way of the sword then he had found out his name wasn’t as Japanese as he had originally been told and was actually celtic of all things. He blamed his father for that one. "I suppose"

"You never know, we could have. Or it might not even be my colors at all and we simply feel like we have met before." Not that Faiza was an expert in past lives or anything. It wasn't like she had any recollections or stuff like that. It was only for pleasant banter.
The subject of names did darken her mind. "My name is.... something of a joke," she said. Right away she always wished she could take it back. She really wasn't sure she wanted to get into the subject of why her name was meant as a mockery rather than a blessing. Strangers who knew what her name meant always seemed to think her parents named her as they did for good fortune in their daughter's life.
Faiza closed her eyes, willing the dark thoughts away. Her childhood wasn't something she thought about if she could help it anyway, so her mind was more than eager to help her push the thoughts back to the dusty corner they came from.

Morin had to admit this was the strangest conversation he had contributed to in a while. However it hardly put him off. Everyone was up to their own beliefs even though Morin knew Faiza meant it as light banter.“This is true. I mean hey we’re just a couple of red and black turtles who did so well the modeities reincarnated us back together to meet as modiphims.” Morin said with a straight face nodding. It was more of continuing on the banter than mocking what she had said. “Don’t ask me why we were turtles though” He smiled. “I suppose we could have been cats but I haven’t seen a red cat… come to think of it I haven’t seen a red turtle either... no wait we were fish” He inwardly imagined himself kicking his own shins as the mood suddenly dropped. Names indeed seemed to be a touchy subject. “Ah some parents are cruel like that,” morin stated and didn’t continue the subject any further so his opinion on what she could have meant by saying it was a joke remained hidden. Having traveled pretty much the world when ever it suited him he knew what her name stood for. The dark reaction was plenty enough.

Faiza thrust her shoulder blades up in another shrug, the wings on her back rustling with the movement. "It is not important." She didn't add much more to that, since there wasn't much she really could add. Morin seemed nice, but she hadn't known him near long enough to tell him about her past; no one wanted to hear yet another sob story.
Another tiny smile threated to tug at the corners of her mouth, but her neutral expression held. "Fish. I would say this is an improvement then, to go from hunted to hunters."

“I shall take your judgment on the matter” Morin stated and let the subject. He noticed his fish comment seemed to be enough to cheer her back up but his own mind ruined it by implanting more thoughts into his brain. ”Well I wouldn’t say that. Some fish hunt other fish so they would be considered hunters. Modifoxes are hunters but they aren’t on the top of the food chain so even we get hunted” Morin stated his voice nearly dropping to a rather cold tone. Apparently it was his turn to have a quick trip back into memory lane. He shook his head and decided to look at the more positive aspects. “Then again our brains are bigger and we can talk to our deities.” He pointed out.

Faiza sat, feeling her wings settle on her back, and curled her tail neatly around her feet. "I think we do well enough for ourselves. After all you do not have to be the toughest to be at the top. Humans are not tough on their own, we would beat them in a fight." She slowly blinked. "But that touches on a whole other debate."

“yes we do, against other creatures and animals but against ourselves not so well at times. Most Modifoxes tend not to be material in nature. They attack anything they see as different or weak” he said in a cold tone this time. However he did ponder about her human statement. “yes we could probably take them in a fight but humans like I said earlier seem to be gifted with opposable thu….” Morin trailed off. He hadn’t said that earlier. They had talked about strangers and reincarnation and their names. The familiar feeling was back again and he was shaking his head trying to see if perhaps he could clear the familiar fuzz invading it.

Morin's cold expression wasn't lost on Faiza, but it didn't faze her. She knew it wasn't directed at her. Shoot, her expression was probably just as cold and closed. It seemed they shared similar experiences of disappointment in their kind at an early age. Or disappointing their kind, more accurately.
Though still sitting tall and straight, her eyes took on a more curious cast when Morin mentioned something to the effect of them having a previous conversation about humans. As far as she knew she was the first to bring them up in this chat, yet what Morin said didn't seem wrong to her. Why was that?
Faiza sighed. "This is frustrating. This does not feel like the first time we have talked, yet I do not have clear memories of you. I would not have forgotten you, I keep careful tabs on all winged creatures that I meet." Thus far she hadn't met a Daeva, but given how her father abandoned her she doubted she'd like them any better than Phims.

Morin sat down as well and rubbed his head with his paw. As he tried to bring up a conversation he must have had with the vixen in front of him the conflicting memories of his childhood he foolishly brought up. Morin knew this was going to drive him crazy. He prided himself on remembering foxes and faces and this was definitely taking shots at his confidences. He had figured out when it must have occurred. Did he get sick and the fever induced memory loss. No he would have remembered being sick. “Maybe… I have the same problem I remember the faces of everyone I meet so not remembering yours is troubling. I was trying to think of a time not to far ago when perhaps other stressful things where going on and our meeting could have been passed on into the background.” Morin suggested.

Faiza shook her head. "It may be bragging, but I am not easily stressed. Even then my memory is still good. And I take.....particular care to remember-," she paused, the word stuck in her thoart. She swallowed, and didn't finish the sentence. "Perhaps a dream? I have heard of others sharing dreams with strangers, and then later meeting them." Yea, it was as outlandish as her reincarnation theory. But still, Faiza could think of no possible way she had physically met Morin before.
((Gah! Curse Reo and Anila >.< I knew Faiza's past was touchy to her, but I didn't know how bad it was 'til now. She's on the verge of an emotional breakdown in my mind. If it wasn't for ages of hiding her feelings behind emotionlessness, she would be crying! *grumbles* I have to try to pull her together to get a reply in here that's not colored by her sadness.))

Morin listened with an understanding and soft look to his eyes. He knew Faiza must not have had it easy. He alone was bullied and nearly killed for not knowing how to fly to be stuck with out the option to fly and still a phim. He felt concerned but didn’t let it show, no this wasn’t something he could teach her to do like Anila. Then again Morin could see strength in Faiza as well and knew she probably didn’t need his help so he steered his mind back towards the fact they seemed to have never met yet remembered each other. “No its not bragging. Everyone should be proud in their skills no matter how weird the skills may be. Yes but then why would we both have the same dream? However there are a lot of strange things that happen in the world. Who isn’t to say that’s not the cause? The modeities are fickle creatures some times depending on the modeity.” He pondered.

Another tiny smile briefly crossed Faiza's face. "I often thought it was a Modeity who gave me these," she said, moving her legs in a way to push the complicated series of controls in the wings straps so as to fully extend both wings. "They just appeared one night, attached to me. I doubt humans could move that silently. They are remarkably strong as well. I do not doubt they could pluck me from the ground were a strong enough wind to fill them." Again Faiza was thankful for the lack of wind close to the ground today.

Morin cocked his head to the side briefly wondering if Faiza had ever smiled this much before. However he didn’t want to bring it up again just in case it stopped her from doing so. Besides she was intelligent and didn’t bring out his famous sadistic side he was quite known for. No Morin wanted to be his old… normal self even if it was just for a little bit and he had a feeling keeping from bringing up too much questions was probably the way to achieve this. “Well that’s not exactly true they have those shiny metal stick things that can knock a modiphim out for hours with out said fox knowing it, however you are right. It doesn’t exactly seem like the sort of things humans would do, the ones not trying to hurt us are convinced we should live out our lives in peace with out human interference. You are probably right in that it was the work of a modeity” Morin agreed absent mindedly lifting up a paw to touch them. He stopped inches away before deciding it was too invading and drew back. “They look like they would help in gliding… you could probably…” Morin trailed off and abruptly shut off his train of thought. Being a phim anything having to do with flying instantly came to his mind . He would not finish his sentence on how he thought the wings would help support the weight and help her fly if let a modiphim carry her. However it was none of his business and he instantly crushed the idea. Faiza might take it as offensive and he thought something of her wingless state… which he didn’t. Morin was perfectly fine with the fact and he had… said so? There he went again with those phantom dream induced reincarnation memories.
