I WANNA JOIN THE GMS BEHIND THE CURTAIN!
How much experience do you have as a role-play manager? Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)? I've worked as a colorist in, and owned, several small shops, and am currently working in colorist position (and general advisor) at Resurrection Wolves, now that the owner/manager and part-manager have both gone missing. I don't have experience in the exact catagory of 'role-play manager', but I have managed and/or worked in several RP events, ranging from full-out meta-events to RP contests for pets.
What sort of events are you interested in running? Roleplay events have always interested me, and meta-plots sound very fun with an insane (in a good way) shop like this. I'd be up for anything you threw at me though, from random contests to raffles.
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any: Most of the shops have died, and I've lost the links to them. We did recently have an Event at Resurrection Wolves though. (It was kind of pieced together last-minute though, so I wouldn't recommend using that as my entry piece/skill level. ^^; I promise I'm better then that.)
What interests you the most about This is Halloween? The entire world is just amazing. The concepts are funny, the characters are gorgeous (or hideous, if they're supposed to be), and the plot is genuinely magnetic (In the sense that it pulls you in.). Also, the contests are so funny, I couldn't stop lurking here. (The one for Wrath was one of my favorites. Seriously, it was hilarious.)
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching? I'd be happy to teach any class that I was needed to, to a certain extent. (I think a class on how to lurk at old ruins/houses/caves/etc would be funny, too.) An idea for a class I'd like doing, if I could, would be this:
Hunters and Slayers 101: What to do when you run into a hunter/tamer/poacher/slayer or any other kind of unwanted company while in the Human World.
Class Description: A class suggested for all undead, vampire, were-creature, ghost, or monster students. (Or any student who wants to protect their rear in the Human World.) This class teaches students how to spot a threat in the Human World before the threat spots them. While not as common as in the olden times, some humans still dedicate their lives to destroying the 'monsters' (Term used loosely; can be linked to any inhabitant of Halloween, not just monsters.) to 'protect' their species. This class will provide all of the information you might need when encountering a human who wants to fight back. For example: Run into a Vampire Slayer? You might need to know his weaknesses, and which of his weapons (ranging from garlic to a stake through the heart) you should be worried about. Meet a mob raving about the zombie apocalypse? You better know just how many bullets from that shotgun it's going to take to take you down. This class will prepare you for any of these situations and more, and situations tailored specifically to fighting off those who specifically want to fight you.
(This class isn't like the 'Human Studies' class, although I could see them going on field trips together. This class is more like surviving a human attack, rather then studying humans in general. Just wait until you see what the final exam is. )

The reason I would do that class is because, if creatures are going out into the Human World, they better have some way of fighting those pesky Slayers and Hunters that just show up and ruin everything. They can do some serious damage sometimes, and we wouldn't want our precious students getting hurt, would we? (It's like the 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' class, only reversed to be teaching the creatures how to defend themselves from humans instead.)
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher? Note: this will not bypass the probation limit of not having art. This option is merely to indicate whether or not you are interested in playing a premade teacher that needs a player. I definitely would. Even though it might be a little challenging, I'd like to see if I could play other characters that I didn't make. (And I think I probably could. o u o; )
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? Of course. ^^ (Mentos and Coke? (As opposed to cheetos and mountain dew.))

(A note for you: I'm going on vacation from tomorrow until this sunday. (So if the Train event happens within the next few days, please know I didn't mean to bail out. ^^; ))

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: (Acting Like the Person Trying to Kill You 101) Application Assignment #1.
Summary: A Hunters and Slayers 101 class contest, of sorts (other people can show up, but they'll be at a disadvantage). Somehow, Miss Reikis (Just using my quest character as the example teacher for this) managed to pull some strings, resulting in one of the weirdest in-class activities she's ever done. She's managed to make a few deals with some minipets, which leads to this contest. This will be a CYOA of sorts. Each of the five minipets will be representing a category of student; Demon, Undead, Reaper, Monster, and Ghost. The minipet will be acting like the generic/stereotype 'what a human thinks you are' of each category (So, the 'undead' would waddle around and act like they were trying to brains or something, while the 'monster' would be howling at the sky or something to that extent.) Judging by this, the participants choose from a list of choices CYOA-style, and have the option of RPing it out. They would be playing the generic/stereotype of a Human Slayer, and whoever best 'destroys' ((gets the most points) as each choice has a point to it, "Best answer gets 3 points, second best gets 1, etc.") the minipet representing that 'category' gets the minipet. (If an RP post is so awesometastic, I might still give them points, even if they failed choice-wise.)
Opening Post:
(Acting Like the Person Who is Trying to Kill You 101)
Application Assignment #1.

"So, my pupils..." Miss Reikis began, looking at her students with a bit of a smile on her face. She'd been acting quite serious, seriously devious that is, for some time, and was finally going to tell them what was up. (And yes, students hiding outside the door, she knows you're there too.) "It seems that a few of the local critters, some creatures you all know of as Wishing Crystals, decided that they wanted to call my teaching skill out, and have given me a proposition for all of you." She waved her hand and tail slightly. (She was known for being a gesture speaker, after all.) "They decided that they wanted to have a contest with us, the Hunters and Slayers 101 class. They've all scattered around the school-grounds, and have started acting like like a stereotype of a member of one of the five groups attending this school. Your mission is to act like a Human Slayer, got that?" She let her words settle, watching the startled reactions on her students' faces before continuing. "Whoever wants to participate can. Yes, you lurkers outside my classroom, that includes you. I'll be providing fake weaponry and such, and we're going to see just how much you've been paying attention in class, kay~? How better can you get to know your opponents in the Human World, then by getting inside their minds? Plus, you can put your knowledge to the test." She shrugged her shoulders and gave her students a snake's smile. It was calculating and looked like she had something up her metaphorical sleeve. "They'll only react if you 'hit' them with the right weapons and such, got that? Oh, and they mentioned that if you win, they'll submit to being your pet. So, want a Wishing Crystal? Then go make me proud! And remember, my reputation (at least in the minipet world) as a good teacher depends on this! Oh and your reputations are also at stake, so try hard, my students! If you want a good grade, get out there and win~! " And with that, the Amphithere Professor started getting a head-count of who was going to attempt the crazy activity, and how many mock-weapons she needed to pass out.

So, think you can manage to catch one of those Wishing Crystals? Just fill out the Form and you're ready to go! (Just remember to read the rules in the next post, so that Miss Reikis doesn't light your face on fire.)

I WANNA JOIN THE GMS BEHIND THE CURTAIN!
How much experience do you have as a role-play manager? Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)? I've ran Faekats for 7 years. I really am not any good at roleplaying but I love helping out with events and stuff all the same.
What sort of events are you interested in running? I really like interactive events (CYOA, Battleship, RP, Battles).
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any: I've done a little bit of everything over the years? I don't have any links off hand because I don't keep records of the threads.
What interests you the most about This is Halloween? The fact it's a town full of ghosts, undead, monsters, demons and reapers. I love horror, I love monsters. It's really one of my passions in life. Zombies especially.
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching? I'd love a class related to Zombies. Teaching you how to apply zombie thinking to every day life, regardless of if you're a zombie or not. There's a lot more to them than people usually realize. Mad respect for the Zombies.
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher? If you have a zombie one, sure. I understand that teachers will be rehomed if needed, so wouldn't form a personal attachment with any teacher but it would really be nice to have a Zombie if I ran some Zombie themed class.
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? Yeah. It's a respectable request.

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: Dodgeball!
Summary: Like mentioned before, I like interactive games. I think a Dodgeball game could be fun to roleplay out. Each player could roll a 1d6 and if they roll a 1 or a 6 they catch the ball, 2 or 5 and they get hit and 3 or 4, they dodge it completely. It would be Red Team vs Blue Team . The only difference is that once a student is eliminated, they stay eliminated. If catching a ball brought a student back in, the game may never end. Team Captains would be able to choose players one at a time, bringing back the high school tradition of being afraid to be picked last. Fear would not be allowed to be used in the game but Natural Abilities could if they were roleplayed out according to their roll. It would be awesome to have a dodgeball themed minipet to give out for it. Winning team gets the minipet, but all players get a growth point?
Opening Post: I am not the best with graphics, but it would be nice to have some kind of bloody ball just sitting there, all foreboding and the next post be the rules and laydown. Maybe a small blurb telling them they've been called for a mandatory game of dodgeball. The game will probably be hosted by a small group of gnomes and implied that it is being supervised but others, unseen to try to maintain order. I don't think this game/event would require a real NPC of any kind.

User Image > Current RP Mangager.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. > Current Mini!Kia; meaning sort of a general assistant manager. I mostly send grams and run games.

What sort of events are you interested in running? Anything, really. My favorite things to run are different types of RP contests, but I can run mini-events too, such as in-thread games, general silliness, etc. I'm not mathematically inclined, so I would prefer not to run raffles, but I could do it if needed.
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any: Almost all of the above. Most of Lunaria's RP contests were handled in this thread, but a few are in the archived section of the guild, which isn't viewable to the public, unfortunately. We haven't run a raffle yet, but we did have an auction. As for S*C, I'd have to dig through the bagillions of pages to find where I ran games. xD;;
What interests you the most about This is Halloween? It's uniqueness and creativity. I've had a blast seeing all of the games and events people come up with, as well as the storyline and it's just a crazy, silly, wonderful place.
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching? "Once upon a time, it was a dark and stormy ni..." Er. Storytelling, I mean. Or "The Art of Saying Something and Having it Sound Cool."
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher? Sure. C:
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? Yep~!

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: "DUN NUN COME ON THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUSSSSSS - "
Summary: A field trip taken by the storytelling class to see some plays that will hopefully develop their creative abilities....hopefully. If they don't stop throwing things at the actors, that is...
Opening Post: It was loud. Too loud. Bob was having a conundrum. "OKAY FINE," he shouted over the din of students cackling and caterwauling noisily as they jabbed and prodded at each other. "WE CAN GO ON A FIELD TRIP."

Instant silence. Bob stared at his class. "What?"

A race for the door. "I DIDN'T MEAN RIGHT NOW!" Bob screeched, throwing some chalk and a shoe as he raced after them.

[[ OOC: It'd be some dice rolling, some interaction with the students. As it goes on, maybe a scavenger hunt of sorts to help Bob find all of the students who are now running around the city after they've managed to successfully ditch their clueless teacher. ]]

How much experience do you have as a role-play manager? Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)? None though I was a guild vice-captain that was basically about role-playing.
What sort of events are you interested in running? About all kinds. Though I do think dice games are nice but challenge like events are more interesting that has a bit of rp as well as chance in them.
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any: I did a couple of raffles but that was a while ago so I don’t have the link and can’t recall any other.
What interests you the most about This is Halloween? Halloween. Not in a sense of mask and those that go bump in the night but just because it is different. I enjoy reading tales of creatures and how one brings them to life without making them seem so “mythical” even though that is what they are. The idea of a “monster” school always intrigues me and the role playing doesn’t hurt.
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching? Art or Music. Art because it is very versatile and can encompass any different things from writing to sewing, which can create a very multitalented group of students. Music which interests me the most is because the voice and instrument could be very disturbing in a good and bad way.
Music: To fear or not to fear. Simple classes that will help students grow the fear and not their natural ability. Being that if you are a Siren or Valkyrie you would need to use an instrument in class and if your natural ability has something to do with an instrument you would learn to sing. This of course would be just part of the class if you truly want to work on those natural abilities you will get the help.
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher? Note: this will not bypass the probation limit of not having art. This option is merely to indicate whether or not you are interested in playing a premade teacher that needs a player. I don’t have a problem with it.
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? Cheetos/Mountain Dew both give me gas. Yes I understand.

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: The Next Black Star
Summary: Kind of like “American Idol” but you can only choose Disney and Pixar songs and you have to make them fit into the world of Halloween. It might just be a select few movies instead of all of them to make it a little more difficult. Their will be a series of rounds with battles using the songs/instruments along with dice to determine who moves on. Single person challenge with the possibility of duo, the person can either sing or try and “play” out the melody.
Opening Post: “Hello Halloweenies welcome to “The Next Black Star” I am your host Razor Crust and….” The man goes silent and looks at the paper with a look of disgust and embarrassment as he throws the papers in the air. “Forget this I am your Music professor and today I am going to put you to some use for my entertainment. Let us hope you were paying attention in class you choose a song and prepare for battle. Try not to kill each other because I don’t want to clean up the mess” a long pause as he walks away he turns around. “Oh… right you might win something the number of winners has slipped my mind…. I will try to remember now have at each other.”

I WANNA JOIN THE GMS BEHIND THE CURTAIN!

How much experience do you have as a role-play manager? Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)?
___ I'm afraid I have no experience being a role-play manager besides answering as many questions as I can, usually regarding RP, at the other shop I work at; if you find that counts. I currently work at Fairy Grotto as a General Assistant doing things from front page and title updates to answering questions and working with event activities assigned to me.
What sort of events are you interested in running?
___ I am perfectly happy with things that need updating (Auctions / Raffles) or games (Dice/Number, CYOA, Scavenger Hunt, etc.). I'm wary of RP focused activities though, because I'm not currently too sure in my abilities. I am new to role-play, I actually decided to begin because of this shop when I saw its interest thread, but I can provide direction to what I've been up to role-play wise lately to see if it's to your satisfaction.
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any:
___ I've helped update a raffle and a referral point type game as well as hosted a follow-the-clues type scavenger hunt. I'm also always on stand-by if anyone does need help with updating something.
What interests you the most about This is Halloween?
___ I really like how there's just so many different things to do. There's classes, battling, and it's a school so there's always someone somewhere to meet or interact with. You can pretty much never think "what now?"
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching?
___ I gave it some thought, and I'm going to stick to my I/T form's idea of a Trickery class. I chose Trickery because it's not only fun, but some tricks just give that pit-of-the-stomach feeling until it's given up that it's not real; and then it doesn't end there, there's always an after feeling of embarrassment, anger, etc. Plus, only an insane person would disagree that it would be very amusing to see students mess with each other.
___ If I was a teacher, I'd probably teach forensics or chemistry. They're some of the funnest classes I've experienced. Though, if I knew how to cook I'd teach some sort of cooking class.
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher?
___ I would be interested, but I'm afraid I probably couldn't. I wish I could help out if that case came up, but I would probably find it hard to duplicate the personality and such of the character.
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends?
___ I sure am. Also, I prefer lemonade.

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: Mimic Mayhem
Summary: I imagine Mimic Mayhem as a field day, school-carnival, or school fund-raising game/activity. Students sign up to gather in a decent sized area, where there are a number of gift boxes/chests all over, and pick one every round. The goal is to find the one wishing crystal among the empty boxes and mimics. If someone grabs a mimic, they are promptly chased off by it and disqualified from the next round; finding the wishing crystal means they win and retire; and picking an empty box allows them to try again in the next round.
Opening Post:
Quote:
Welcome to Mimic Mayhem!

In Mimic Mayhem, you and other students will be sent out into a field to retrieve your very own numbered chest which may (or may not) contain a prize! It is first come first serve when claiming them, but watch out for each other and try not to fight over a chest. Although it does prove to be amusing for onlookers.

Oh, and watch out for mimics. They always make it into the batch somehow. Which, you can imagine, is how this activity got its name.

exclaim Rule Sheet exclaim
_· When the whistle blows, you may run into the field and grab a chest. Only pick one numbered chest, and if someone grabs it before you then try again!
_· Your chance to grab a chest will last 24 hours, then I will open the chests and inform everyone on what they received. However, If you didn't grab a chest by then, I will happily give you one! Enjoy that mimic.
_· If you open your chest and find it is a mimic, tough luck because it's your problem and they're keen on chasing people away. Bye bye!
_· If you open the chest and it has nothing, hope you get lucky next round because you can try again.
_· If you open the chest and find a wishing crystal, congratulations! You have won the prize and must now retire for the remainder of this activity.

If there are any questions, feel free to ask me before we start! I will also double check before the first round commences.

OOC: To enter, please role-pay your student showing up; grabbing a rule sheet; and signing up. They may then socialize or ask questions. Remember to never edit your number choices, always post trying again.

I WANNA JOIN THE GMS BEHIND THE CURTAIN!
How much experience do you have as a role-play manager? Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)? I've run a TON of RP events and the like at my own shop, My Little Pony. Here are a few links to some of them:
[x]
[x]
[x]
[x]
What sort of events are you interested in running? I love doing stuff like the CYOA's above! I'd also like to try running some things almost like D&D-style adventures.
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any: All of the above? XD;
[This] event included all of those things. I've also run things with multiple mini-games and organized my staff to run them, as well as a giant event composed mostly of semi-customs (with some mini-games) that is run every Halloween. This event is the infamous Cauldron Event of My Little Pony.
I also wrote a couple of the prompts for the RP contest at the opening events for C A M P
What interests you the most about This is Halloween? The characters and storyline, and the people. The event going on right how has been amazingly fun and I'd LOVE to be a part of making things like this happen <33
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching? I would like to teach some more ... physical type of classes. I know there's the gym class, but that seems more like a catch-all to me. It would be cool imo to have some more specialized classes on physical fighting/scaring since right now there seems to be a lot of stuff on using magic/shapeshifting/etc but not much on the physical aspect of things.
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher? Sure!
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? Yes I am aware!! And BOTH Cheetos and Mountain Dew

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: A Night At the Crypt
Summary: Since I said above that what I'd like to run would be a CYOA, let's go with that! Playing off Night At the Museum a little bit for the title/concept. The basic gist is that a group of students takes a field trip to the Crypt and then .... things go wrong. DUN DUN DUN. There would be something that trapped them in the museum all night (a storm, doors mysteriously locking themselves etc), upon which the students would encounter some of the spirits said to rest below the museum. Alternately, they would have to fight them or bargain with them to escape/defeat each spirit. Minipets or perhaps something like the candycane points from this event would also be given out as smaller prizes.
Opening Post: (fictional NPC character - museum director)
Dr. Nimblefeist eyed the group of students that had been assigned to him for this tour. More snot-nosed brats, so far as he was concerned, here to paw through the precious artifacts in his museum and likely misplace or break things. He hated having to do this, at least two or three times a week. The old ghost would MUCH rather be out in the Human World, scaring people and reaping the sweet FEAR such a thing produced. However, he was the closest thing this town had to a Historian and he was (supposedly) related to the esteemed Dr. Finklestein to boot. And... this was his job, so he'd best get on with it. "STUDENTS!" he barked, getting everyone's attention (hopefully). "Whether this is your first time here or your tenth, I would prefer you keep your attention upon ME and follow all rules to the letter," he continued, tapping a sign on the wall with his cane.

Rules

1. DO NOT touch anything.
2. DO NOT run or climb on things.
3. DO NOT yell, scream, or cause ruckus.
4. DO NOT assume your natural forms within the museum.
5. LEARN.

Once he was assured that everyone had at least read the sign, he continued. "Now. DO follow me, and don't linger or stray." Then he started off through the museum....

(( So! What do you choose to do? Will you follow your tour guide or wander off on your own? Will you ignore the rules and go touching things or rampaging through the museum...? Please choose one of the following directions to go and RP what your character does:
Straight ahead: Behave yourself and follow the nice tour guide, this is educational!
Hallway to the left: Hmm things down there look pretty interesting, let's go explore!
Gallery to the right: No way you're doing this by the book! That gallery's just full of awesome scary artifacts... and you're going to go look at them NOW. Screw the tour.
Back out the door: REALLY screw the tour. This is boring, you're heading back to the dorms. Pffft. ))

I WANNA JOIN THE GMS BEHIND THE CURTAIN!
How much experience do you have as a role-play manager? Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)?
Sadly I have no prior experience :<
What sort of events are you interested in running?
Classes and large battle events on par with the battle of the bands as well as well as CYOA.
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any:
Honestly never ran any sadly D:
What interests you the most about This is Halloween?
First off the idea is hilarious; it’s reliving high school with all the sucky parts being made hilarious by having you fight slime monsters during detention instead of sleeping on a desk D: I really can’t pin down what’s so fun about this place really. When I got Samantha my first thought honestly was ‘drats not my top pick’ now I can’t put her down. Maybe it’s the fun of creating monsters as normal students and the FEAR system, or the fact its simply based off Nightmare Before Christmas, whatever it is this shop is just catchy and I’d be thrilled to be a bigger part of it.
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching?
For a teacher I would go with an Undead Lich, once a Reaper he would be the teacher for a Necromancy class. The teacher in question would be less powerful then other magical teachers however he excels in the art of learning general spells outside his own area as well as magic focused on the undead after working so long to become a Lich. Lessons would include teaching students how to store FEAR temporarily in items like a mini-phylactery and later students would learn more powerful versions. As well as general spells that would tend to run counter of Cricket, one heals, the other maims and controls and cheats life its self.
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher? Note: this will not bypass the probation limit of not having art. This option is merely to indicate whether or not you are interested in playing a premade teacher that needs a player. I’m up to discussing this sure :3
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? I’m cool with that~ So long as I get mountain dew neutral

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: Necromancy 101
Summary: The first class of Necromancy students will be tested to see if they can channel FEAR into a small charm, the first step in creating tools to control risen minions and store FEAR for bigger spells. All students will obtain a small starter minipet, while successful students will receive a later stage in which the charm glows. ICLY these students will know the first step to storing FEAR for other uses outside the body however only temporary and with no real clear use for it.
Opening Post:
For the most part Amileo’s classroom was cold and strange, the temperature rivaling that of the undead dorms. All around trinkets, charms, and devices lined the walls and filled the cabinets. Some glowed with arcane runes, others moved on endlessly with no indication to why or how they functioned. At first no teacher seemed present, that was until a lone figure stumbled from the private office.

It had no eyes, just a mouth and no defined gender, a husk of a human figure that slowly moved about the class placing a pendent on each students desk before taking a spot by the door standing still as death. It was then a voice would interrupt the awkward silence of the Null completing it’s tasl
“Necromancy, it’s a very potent art for a Reaper and one most Undead frown heavily on when it’s abused. However it’s not simply about waving your hands in the air and tossing some voodoo powder on a grave to raise a corpse.” The last of which was spoken with a roll of his eyes, “The true trick, is to manipulate ones FEAR, to place it in something or someone else.” Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a pendent like the one before the students, the rune inside it glowed briefly before the Null moved to enter the office.
“The first step to learning Necromancy at its highest level is to first learn to push your FEAR into another object. The pendants before you will serve as a… meter, of your success in this class. You may now attempt to focus your FEAR into the pendants till I say otherwise, and do be careful, I want it in the pendant I don’t feel like having to deal with Professor Cricket if one of you accidently injects another student…” Reaching under his desk he pulled out a large tome before propping it open, “Come to my desk if you have any questions. In the meantime, work. Now.”

(( ON TO THE NITTY GRITTY: Amileo has challenge you without any training to place FEAR in your pendants. Students are to roll one D20 and are to RP the results!
16-20: Somehow you manage to grasp an idea how to press FEAR into the pendant with little trouble, the rune glows and you have succeeded. The light fades after 15 minutes
10-15: While it takes you a bit longer and things don’t go over as well. You manage to get the pendant to glow, it only lasts for 5 minutes. Feel free to have your FEAR cause a bit of ‘trouble’ around the room.
5-9: You just can’t get the FEAR to stick, you try and you try but you end up failing all around. Your FEAR goes wild and finds its self everywhere but the pendant but thankfully not in anyone.
1-4: Oh dear lord, you somehow managed to direct your FEAR at another student! Randomly Generate a number based on a list of students who have already posted and are part of a class; they will experience cramps, headaches vertigo, and probably pass out now sadly ))

*insert list of active students for a just in case 1-4 roll*

I WANNA BE AN ARTIST LIEK WAI
Position: Part Time
Have you worked elsewhere on Gaia before? Please provide links and a frame of time, and please indicate whether or not you are still working for that shop or not. Yes, I have o u o I currently assist at Fairy Grotto (battle co-ordinator & general assistant) and Star*Chasers (general assistant). I've been working at Fairy Grotto since its re-opening, and Star*Chasers for... about 5 months? I also occasionally colour pets and do small line-edits for Star*Chasers, but I'm not one of the official artists.
Samples of your work: 1, 2, 3.
How long does it take for me to make a character? The student example below took one day, though in actuality I spent about 6 hours on her from the sketch process to finished work. It depends on how elaborate the design is, really; she's wearing a fuku-inspired outfit, so there was a lot less work to do with her clothing than there might be. I'm much faster cell-shading with gradients than I am soft-shading, though, so while some of my examples above took days, I should be able to create most students in 5-10 hours. (I have a lot of free time, so long as it's not exams)
When can I be contacted? Leaving blank. Anytime.
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? I am, indeed, aware. I just like producing the art, anyway :P

STUDENT CHALLENGE:
URL link to image: Ghost Fury... Photobucket resized her strangely D: now she is all... out-of-focus-looking *facepalms*
Prompt Given:
Seventh Sanctum Prompt
This brave magical girl's droopy eyes are the color of the sun. Her long, wavy, luxurious hair is the color of red bricks, and is worn in a bizarre style. She has a busty figure. She has ghost powers that are focused through a wand. Her costume is red and orange in even proportions, vaguely resembles a schoolgirl's fuku, and it appears to shift and change like ghostly smoke.

The Student's Race: Ghost; she's designed loosely on the Fury from the ghost sub-types. Side-note, she looks a little older, but the prompt said ... busy, and I was unwilling to draw someone childlike and busty OTL
May we contact you about potentially using this student in a future event? Indeed.

I WANNA BE AN ARTIST LIEK WAI

Position: Full time would be awesome, but so would part-time. Any time is fine with me!

Have you worked elsewhere on Gaia before? Yep! Like to hear it? Here it go:

Current:
  • ICRS (forevah)
I do everything here: manage, draw, procrastinate. I mostly just post growths nowadays, but every so often there's still an event or flatsale where everyone wins yay
  • Mystic Mixers (opening - present)
Part time artist currently responsible for seven kids. Light workload with a lot of time between growths.
  • Double Trouble (? - present)
Sort-of artist. I'm no longer taking on new assignments here, but am still responsible for growing five pairs of characters through adulthood.
  • Dragonflight (opening - present) and The Lost Weyrs of Pern (July 2010 - present)
    Colorist.

Past (all shops are closed):
The Cabbage Patch, Eden Project, Write What You Know, Past Legacies Corp., The Boundless

Samples of your work: oldest x x newest

How long does it take for me to make a character? About two weeks, from when I first start brainstorming to the completion of the piece. For comparison, my newest example up there was done in about 5 hours from start to finish and, in my opinion, suffered for it. When I'm on a roll I can get a character done every week, but I don't want to promise that in case my brain goes lumpy.

When can I be contacted? Now. I'm going on vacation from January 7-14, but that's about it for away time until July.

Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? Cheetos Yes, I am.

In the event I am chosen, I am away 22 - 29 December, so attempts to contact me in that period of time will be for naught. :'D

I WANNA JOIN THE GMS BEHIND THE CURTAIN!
How much experience do you have as a role-play manager? Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)?
I've actually only worked as a colorist, although I did hold my own RP events from time to time. The only RP event that I ran and could find, however, was this; if you scroll down a little, you'll see my post with the contest details. The winners were announced here.
What sort of events are you interested in running?
Mmm, anything really. I'm not too fussy although I'll be honest - if I have finals, I doubt I can hold meta events. xD
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with? Please provide links if any:
I have experience with almost everything. Best example would be here; I ran/set up everything except for the things in the Game posts.
What interests you the most about This is Halloween?
The events... xD I've never participated in a mass ORP event before (The train that would not stop), and it was fun! The Scavenger Hunt/Gorgons vs Cerberus event also impressed me a whole lot. Even in the recent BotB/7 Sins event, all mini-events were well executed. I guess if you're talking about TiH as a concept though, I love the RPs - they're always so fun because of the diverse characters in the shop. Its been a long time since I really wanted a character from an RP-required shop due to the lack of "freedom", but when I saw TiH, I couldn't resist!
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why? What class are YOU most interested in teaching?
This makes me glee. A lot. 8D I imagine an overly enthusiastic, but rather short tempered/quick to anger, professor teaching 'Minipet Training' - by now, lots of students have a 'main' minipet that might or might not listen to them. xD Think of this as a dog training class with varying difficulties (basic, intermediate, advanced). It'll be a little like Battle classes in the sense that if you attend X-level of difficulty once, you need not attend it again unless its teaching something different. However, you miss basic class, and you'll have to miss intermediate too. I imagine trained minipets can help their owners out quite a bit, and the students have fun/get points and new minipets out of it too. xD Besides, I heard there might be a Minipet Battle System in place soon?
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher?
Um... I'm uncomfortable with it actually, since I'm not sure how much I can stay 'in-character'.
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends?
I've never seen Cheetos before, but I like Mountain Dew. >.>; And yes, I'm aware!

GM CHALLENGE!
Title: So you think you are Alpha Dog?
Summary: Its a classroom activity (based on Minipet Training) for students that is based partially on luck and RP - its the first lesson, so its pretty much an intro.
Opening Post:

Quote:
"Good morning children! Sorry for being late, was busy watering the many Dionaea seeds I have and lost track of time but lets begin now, shall we?" Amazingly, the whole sentence was said quickly and in a single breath as the Professor brisk-walked into the spacious room, a broad grin on his lips as he came to a stop in front of his class. Picking up the attendance sheet he had laid out before class, he skimmed through it before looking back up, addressing his students, "Now, children, please keep quiet as I- Please keep quiet, children... Please keep- KEEP QUIET."

A short pause followed as the Professor nervously ran a hand through his hair, chuckling to himself about 'calming down' and there being 'nothing to yell about'. As the yell echoed through the room, the classroom finally fell into complete silence, all eyes turning to face the lanky Reaper standing at the front.

"R-Right, as I was saying," He continued, his grin reappearing as he cleared his throat, eyes scanning the faces of his students, "Did everyone bring along their favored pet as requested? I hope so, because your first assignment is to introduce yourself and your pet briefly. Tell us an interesting fact about your pet and show me that you can control your pet by giving your Minipet one command to follow. There is no order for you to do so. Just do it before this class is dismissed... Oh yes, those who put in effort will be given a little... Gift from me."

Quote:
OOC Details:
  • Malcolm is not as nice as he appears!
  • Roll a 100-sided die; 1-10 & 90-100 means the Minipet obeyed, every other number means the Minipet disobeyed. Roll and then edit in your RP the result!
  • Please ICly post 1 or 2 short paragraph(s) about your student & his/her/its selected Minipet, as well roll the die to see if your Minipet "obeyed".
  • He/she/it will be using the same Minipet for at least another lesson, so pick wisely!
  • You have 1 week to do this assignment - plenty of time, I believe!
  • Bold any questions you might have for Malcolm and I'll answer ASAP!

  • 3 Wishing Crystals will be given out to the top 3 students; just stay in-character and have fun, since "effort" does not equal to 'obedient pet'!
  • 2 Wishing Crystals will be raffled out among all the students who takes part in the assignment!

I WANNA JOIN THE GMS BEHIND THE CURTAIN!
How much experience do you have as a role-play manager?  Can you provide links to the past shops you worked at or RP events you ran, if any (preferably ones with five or more participants)? Well, for several years I ran a shop called The Magical Kingdom and I once ran an event for it that had over fourty participants, on my own. Unfortunately since that occurred back in 2004/2005 that link is long gone. For a brief stint I was running Wards of the Horde (the shop fell through due to RL at the time). Other than that I have ran a handful of basic dice games for The Soup Kitchen in more recent times.
What sort of events are you interested in running? A class would be pretty fun, outside of that I would enjoy being a part of the holiday events, or small storyline events throughout the year. I also enjoy the basics, raffles, flaffles, RP contests, and so on. I'm pretty open to anything, really.
What events (auctions, raffles, RP contests, etc) do you have experience with?  Please provide links if any: I've experience with pretty much anything and everything from RP contests, rehoming games, avatar costume contest, raffles, auctions and... uh.. yeah. TSK : Event thread. Again, a lot of the RP contest and the like were done for my The Magical Kingdom shop, and those links are now gone sad
What interests you the most about This is Halloween? Immediately, I love the atmosphere of the shop. The majority of the people I have come into contact with, here, seem to be lovely people, and, well I just enjoy the story so far.
If you were given a professor character, what class would they teach and why?  What class are YOU most interested in teaching? If I were given a professor character, I would have them teach a Finishing class. It would cover general, social etiquette, and cultural values. Though the varying cultural values would be taught from a demoness point a view (reasoning for a slant of biased and cliche being toted around). Being a demon of class, and discriminating tastes, she teaches this course in order to rectify the issue of all the students engaging in the barbaric physical combat that Red seemed to take great joy in thrusting into their lives. The poor students of Amityville seemed to be lacking any true form of social repertoire, and it is her desire to remedy this pitiful situation.
Would you be interested in RPing a pre-existing teacher?  Note: this will not bypass the probation limit of not having art.  This option is merely to indicate whether or not you are interested in playing a pre-made teacher that needs a player. As much as I would love to be able to 100% say yes to this, the class in which I am looking to run, and the entire basis of the concept, relies entirely on the professor being a demoness. If the professor in question suits this archetype, then I would gladly go this route, otherwise, and I apologize, I would prefer to decline this option.
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends?  This doesn't bother me in any way, I understand the reason it's there smile

GM CHALLENGE!
Title:  Joy Factor
Summary:  Joy factor is an event that shows up at Amityville to test the mettle of the students within it's walls. The students must prove their worth in a series of events meant to bring them to their knees. These events run over three different stunts. The stunts can vary anywhere from being left alone in a room full of adorable kittens, to eatings cookies baked with ginger and cinnamon. Anyone who manages to prove they can live with the joy, wins not only prestige among their classmates, but a chance at a handful of different minipets.

Students may sign up on a piece of paper that will be left, pinned into the bulletin board. Slots will be limited to 20 people, with quick eliminations for the first 10.

Opening Post:

Imagine a world where your brightest joys become a reality. Welcome to Joy Factor. Each show, contestants from the school will battle each other in extreme stunts. Each of these stunts is meant to challenge the contests both physically and mentally.

If a contest is too overjoyed to complete a stunt...

they are eliminated.

If a contestant fails a stunt...

they are eliminated.

But if they succeed they move one step closer to the grand prize...

Testing their joys and pushing their limits.

Joy Factor.

A well dressed gentleman walks out onto the stage, holding a microphone in his left hand. His skin is scaled, and purple. His hair spiked and almost crystalline in appearance. He flashes a bright, toothy smile towards the cameras. This is clearly not his first time at the center of attention.

"I'm Joe Jormungar. This is Joy Factor. The stunts you are about to see were all designed and supervised by trained professionals. They are extremely dangerous and should not be attempted by anyone, anywhere, anytime!"

Joe moved back and lights flick about the stage. There are silhouettes of objects, but they remain relatively shadowed, giving onlookers only a short, unsure glance of what was to come. Suddenly the lights pan on either side of the stage, as the contestants file out, in two lines, from either side of the stage. As they move to the center, Joe becomes apparent once more, greeting the students as they filter in.

He spins around, flashing that bright smile of his towards the audience once more.

"Alright! We've have 20 students here from Amityville High who are gathered here for one reason, and one reason alone. To prove that they can withstand the sheer Joy that will be come down at them. They will be the one, who's Fear cannot be overjoyed." he motions with both his arms arcing away from him, the lights clearly showing all the contestants.

"And of course. They will be competing for the charms." he looks back towards the contestants.

"Three rounds. That's all this takes. The first round will be quick eliminations. Half of you will have left the competition by the time it ends."

There was a long pause.

"LET'S GET JOYFUL!"

(( OOC : All entrants will be required to post an 'introductory' post to the contest. You have 24 hours to do so, if you do not post within this time frame, your student will be assumed to have been overcome by the Joy, rendering their fear useless, and disqualifying them from the contest. Attached to your post, please roll 1D100 (one 100 sided dice). The student with the highest roll will go first, descending from there. The lowest roll, of course, going last.

Each event will have it's own set of rules. The outcome of each event will be determined by a pre-set rolling method that may vary through the different events. These rolls are meant to keep things on an even level, so no one person can claim to be more in touch with their fear than another.

If at any time you feel that, ICly, your character cannot withstand the pure joy they are being submersed in, regardless of the die outcome, you may post as you would had your dice failed. This will be left to individual players discretion.

You may not choose to pass a roll, however, even if you feel your character would normally be able to endeavor.

Joe will begin to roll out the events after the introductory posts have been concluded.))

When the extension was given, I figured I might as well give it a shot!

I WANNA BE AN ARTIST LIEK WAI
Position: Which ever, I need to get on a regular art challenge and love designing characters!
Have you worked elsewhere on Gaia before? Please provide links and a frame of time, and please indicate whether or not you are still working for that shop or not. Used to work at IoDM for a year (or two? Can't recall). Shop died years ago, though, so no link. Always delivered what was advertised and on time, if early! (that was 5 stage original artwork with original design prompts. 1 stage artwork works even better for my schedule.)
Samples of your work: Old -> New : X X X X
How long does it take for me to make a character? a day or two or three, depending on complexity/challenge. Ex: My Reaper example took three sittings, my Undead example took one sitting.
When can I be contacted?
Are you aware that you will be on probation for an unspecified amount of time, in which you will NOT receive your TiH character until the probation period ends? Cheetos/Mountain Dew Kettlekorn/orangina plz. u_u and yup!

STUDENT CHALLENGE:

Prompt Given: This sinful magic knight has narrow silver eyes and neck-length, straight, fine, red hair worn in a carefully-crafted style. He has a muscular build. He has time powers that are activated by sheer willpower. His outfit is black and green, and it looks like a fusion of a male stripper's skimpy attire and a cowboy's outfit.
The Student's Race: Reaper
May we contact you about potentially using this student in a future event? UH. IF YOU WANT? XD
Quick personal note: Theorized how "Time Powers" could work for a fear power: >o> It could involve being able to re-roll a dice roll. (Travel a few moments back in time for a re-do on his magic TIME HORSE.) As he grows more powerful, perhaps he can even give a team-mate a re-roll as well!
