"Aye, Bumblebee, ye c'n help! All ye really need is a will tae find the wee blighters. Naw special skill required." Yabetz idlely scratched at the ground in front of him, thinking. "Ah suppose th' first place tae start would be around here. Let's just walk aboot an' keep our peepers open, ya ken?"

Yavie nodded paying the utmost attention to Yabetz’s words. Her tail flicked for a moment when she had a thought before it went back to its regular waging pattern. Ok if we split up though, just make sure to bend or beak a sunflower every now and then so you can track your way and not get lost. That’s the kind of advice papa Ixen or papa Yuki would give, and their really really good at not getting lost so what they do has to be right. I need to do that more often since I get lost a lot. I think they call it marking your path, but I don’t know it’s called marking when you’re really just breaking stuff.

Yabetz nodded. "Ah'm sure Ah c'n find meh way aboot th' place. If Ah have tae I'll shout out for ye. I's a fair small field though, Ah don' think we have tae worry." Not that he wouldn't keep track of his steps or anything, that was always a smart idea. Yabetz just found the best results came when one wasn't really paying much attention.

Ok! Without further adue Yavie launched herself from a sitting position to a full out trot through the sunflowers. She kept her head low looking at the bases of the sunflower stems for pixie nests. She wanted to find a pixie nest and show Yabetz. This is so exciting! I wonder what pixes look like up close. I completely forgot to ask Yabetz. I know I’ll just find one and bring it to him and he’ll tell me if it’s a pixie or not.

Yabetz chuckled, watching Yavie tear off. He remembered his first fairy hunt as a kit, and how excited he'd been. The masked male stood and stretch luxuriously, then slowly began strollings through the field. He kept his eyes up at the flowers, where the pixies would most likely be sitting. And where there was one, there were many. And he slowly weaved his way through the flowers he brushed his body against the long, thick stems, leaving his scent behind him.

Yavie continued to scour the sunflower field for pixie nests and of course pixes. So intent was she on her searching that at one point she tripped over a furrow and landed flat on her face. She got up and shook herself off. I’m glad Yabetz didn’t see that. He would have been like papa Ixen and laughed at me. I like to laugh with other foxes, not have them laugh at me, unless I do something funny so that they will laugh at me. I suppose if I do something funny without meaning to that it’s like meaning to right? So them laughing at me is ok then too? Oh now I’m all confused. I’ll ask someone later. Yavie’s ears twitched as she went back to the pixie hunt not realizing she was going in circles.

Yabetz was still scouting out his section of the field. In the distance he was sure he could still hear Yavie. Not talking, but in the rustling of the plants. It didn't seem to be growing any stronger or weaker. Either she was lost or something had ahold of her tail. He paused, wondering if he should try to find her or leave her to her own devices. Some lasses got pretty cranky when you tried to hint they were helpless.

Tripping over the same furrow for the third time Yavie grunted as she saved herself. Yavie whined loudly very upset but the turn of events. Why does this pretty field have so many holes? I didn’t have this much trouble when I was following Janis. Steadfastly insulted by the field Yavie plopped her rump down on the ground and glared at the nearby plants. I want to find pixies to show Yabetz field not fall in holes. Yavie grumbled pouting.
(Help her she needs it. )

Yabetz heard a thudding sound in the distance. "Ye alright lass," he called. His voice carried easily over the field. He figured ask first, and if she needed help he could find her. He found himself slowly migrating in the direction he thought Yavie might be though, withouth really noticing what he was doing.

Yavie heard Yabetz and thought about it for a moment. If he comes and finds me then I won’t be able to find any pixies to show him as a surprise, but this field is being mean so I’m not sure I’ll be able to find any pixies by myself. Unless you can make the field behave, I need help. Yavie tried to wipe some dirt off her face and only ended up smearing it across her fur leaving her with a line of dirt from her cheek to her nose. She sneezed twice.

Yabetz's mouth gaped open. The mask made smelling very difficult; the taste of the air helped him. From the sounds and a slight scent he was pretty sure he knew where Yavie was. He closed his mouth, chuckling. "Ah don' knoo aboot makin' th' field behave lass. Ah'll cume fine ye, stay poot."
He wandered forward, pretty sure he was getting closer. His ears were perked as high as they could be, listening for the vixen.

Ok. I’m not gonna go anywhere. I promise. Yavie sneezed again and flicked her ears back and forth listening for Yabetz. She could hear some rustling off to her side. She turned to face that direction expecting to see Yabetz. She jumped when a little field mouse came out of the plants rather than the masked fox. Aww… aren’t you a cute little mouse. I thought you where my friend coming to find me so you really surprised me. Yavie scooped up the mouse and looked at it closely.

This was almost like deja vu, really. Yabetz had to hold back a chuckle as he peered through the veil of sunflowers that separated him from Yavie. Last time he came upon the vixen she was talking to a bumblebee, now she was talking to a mouse. It seemed a wonder to him how she didn't naturally attract faery folk, small creatures seemed to folk about her.

The little mouse didn’t seem overly terrified by Yavie, rather the creature sniffed at her and started to examine its surrounding on her paw. Yavie poked the little mouse with her other paw earning herself a disgruntled look from it. She giggled. You’re really cute you know that? I wish you could talk, because I would be able to ask if you knew if there were any pixies around here. I really really wanna find a pixie so I can bring it to my new friend Yabetz. Yavie’s tail wagged as she spoke to the mouse. She set the mouse down to let it go on its way and waited for Yabetz.
(Yavie would talk to air if she was alone for long enough. She isn’t freighting to small creatures for some reason. They mostly just don’t perceive her as a threat and ignore the chatterbox.)

"Weel now, Bumblebee, Ah doubt 'e'd tell ye. Mice are friends tae sum o' th' wee creatures, they'd no' give oop their secrets easily!" Completing the scene of deja vu was Yabetz pushing his way though the sunflower stalks. He knew small creatures didn't take to him presence as well as they seemed to take to Yavie, so he didn't get any closer. "'Twould be an extrodinary amount o' luck tae find a pixie on yer first hunt, donaw be discouraged."
