Zentos was almost getting bored by reading through all the books in the library, but he knew that he needed to do this to become smarter. He couldn't rely only on his taijutsu and fighting capabilities to carry him all the way to becoming talented. He needed the ability to assess a situation and become an excellent planner. He needed to be able to see the bigger picture and be one or two steps ahead of his enemy. He thought about trying to play shougi with someone in the village, but he knew that his general ability in that area was already quite lacking and that he would lose in just a few moves.

Thinking of shougi, he thought about getting a book to try and read more into the strategies that people used when playing the game. Although the goal was simple, Zentos was a complete novice when it came to heavy critical thinking and he just couldn't bring himself to analyze what kind of situation he was in. Picking up the book with the most interesting title, "How to undermine your opponent in Shougi', Zentos sat down and tried to pick out the key points. Almost immediately confused, Zentos failed utterly in his ability to comprehend what the author was trying to get across. He closed the book and sighed, looking at the author. Not very surprising, the name on the front was that of a Nara's. Typical.

Throwing the shougi book aside, he picked up another. This one wasn't even in his native language. He tried to pick out words that looked slightly familiar, because he thought that it was just a different type of Japanese, but to no avail, he couldn't read it. He put it in the pile of books that couldn't catch his eye and he decided to keep going. Almost on a roll now, he picked up a book about the four seasons. They explained the kind of weather that each season included, and what the benefits were. Snowy weather provided cover and Hyouton clans an advantage to many shinobi, but it was also extremely dangerous to those not protected. Hypothermia was an extremely viable detriment to snowy weather.

The problem with Zentos being in the library for so long was that it was out of routine for him. He knew that he really should be staying in here longer than he was, but he felt so wasted just sitting in the library for hours on end. He would much rather go down to the training area to get some workouts done. Knowing that this would benefit him in the long run to become more well rounded in the areas of life, he still sighed and went back to his reading. Getting bored now, he put down his books and started to daydream.

Zentos started to imagine what his future would be like, with the multitude of jutsu that he could learn, he was daydreaming about his potential success. He imagined fields torn asunder by his lightning jutsu, and him facing off against a jounin or even a kage. He was definitely looking forward to being able to say that he was an S-rank shinobi. Shaking his head, he tried to clear his mind of distracting thoughts like the promise of fame. He cracked open another book and began to let the knowledge just seep into his brain.

Not exactly working out the way that he was hoping for, Zentos just couldn't seem to pick up an interesting book. Either that or, he didn't have the attention span to be able to read through a few pages before getting bored and restless. Trying to focus his way through a book didn't work either. He was definitely looking at and reading the words, but it just wasn't clicking in his head.

His focus diminishing, Zentos' attention span was beginning to wane. At first, he had been completely passionate about reading all these books and absorbing all that they had to teach him, but now it seemed more like a chore to him than a type of training. He knew that the studies would be worth it in the end, but he just didn't know what to do with all this pent up energy he was getting from just sitting here.

Zentos decided to grit his teeth(metaphorically, because reading didn't take THAT much effort), and opened his newest book. Interestingly enough, the topic caught his attention and kept it. It was about the different types of training that one could go through to practice chakra control. Molding chakra into different shapes and walking on water were examples of these. Zentos was interested, and resolved to try this sometime in the future.

After flipping through that book thoroughly, Zentos was back on his stump. He just couldn't find another book that entertained him or interested him that much. He wished that he was more openminded when it came to subjects like this, but he knew that it just wasn't meant to be. He was a fighter, not a scholar.

Whatever his own opinion, Zentos knew that he had to try and get through as much of his reading as possible. He needed to learn everything that the Kumogakure library had to offer. Satisfied with his pace so far, even though he was getting distracted every so often, he kept going. He picked up another book and began to flip through the pages, skimming its contents until he thought that he had adequately learned enough from it to have a basic grasp on its concepts.

Picking up a book about nomads in Sunagakure, he could at least kind of relate to the fact that they had no real homes. Born near Iwagakure himself, he was moved around a lot, and finally found himself alone in Kumogakure. Many nights he dreamed of what had happened to his father, but it was most likely that he was dead. Not many people came back from coups alive. Brushing aside the fact that he might just be the last Zee on the face of the earth, he kept reading.

Feeling confident in his abilities to learn more about everything the books here had to give him, Zentos confronted his restlessness and tried to think of practical examples of everything that the books were telling him. He would plan on training his chakra levels and possibly ninjutsu soon, even though he was already quite proficient in both. Letting his mind wander to something that was at least related to the books, he was making some kind of progress with his imagination.

Almost ready to quit, Zentos was getting bored again. He told himself that this would be the halfway point, and he would quit once he had read a few more books. The better part of an afternoon spent here reading and catching up on lore, Zentos was satisfied with his progress.

After telling himself that he was halfway done, and with the promise of leaving this dreadful library soon, Zentos was excited and passionately went back into his reading. This newfound burst of energy allowed him to focus for a short amount of time on the reading, and hopefully it would last him until the very end of this next hour.

Feeling quite jubilant now, Zentos was flipping through the books faster than he had been in the first half of his training. Getting through most of the information in a matter of minutes, he was absorbing random facts from each book. Mushrooms were poisonous? Medical Ninjutsu was fast becoming a lost art? Were genjutsu really a part of the affected's mind, or the users? These questions and information stimulated his mind to think outside the box.
