King_of_the_obseen for once i have been dedicaten most of my free time to this bloody guild god damnit i am gettin damn near no where >.< my roadtrip plan has been dilayed again and again and i cant seem to get anyone to sign up *sighs floppin down with a beer* rawrs. >.<'' all well aleast we are finally doing somthin i got alot to say about how things used to be i am happy to see us working twords completion again like it used to be and thats what i been waiting and lurking for so hooraw to the league let me restate myself, i been round prolly longer then 99.9% of the guild >.> gear i belive has been here longer but i just am a off and on guy, now i am a fulltimer and i am ready to make it up to yall, yall where here for me. i seen alot of good friends come and go through here and to see it cave in upon itself really bugs me. it does bug me more then i could ever let you know >.< but i do got to say the few of us here that are dedicated can do simply isnt enough just yet, let us rebuild slowly weilder, if we dont do it slowly we will never make it, i am making all i can do for the guild , hell i offered to drop in on every manga and cosplay event IRL for yhall, i am dedicating alot of personal time to that project. So i belive we should have alittle slack weilder, we are trying our hardest but most of us are growing up, im not a kid anymore who has nothing but time to waist for nothing. im sure alot of us are the same from the vets. i tryed to quit quite afew times, somtimes i was gone for a year, but in the end i came back to help in a time of crisi. >.< this is a rant i know but i am just stating a bunch of bottled up emotion, this guild is a family ,atleast it was to me. i belive we lost alot of power as we lost all the older members. i reemmber back when we where going strong and head-ready. now that i look at it i see we are failing but in time we will be strong again, patience is what i preach, the same patience that you all gave me when i took off for months upon months at a time. i will preach this from now till forever now that i am back to try and help. do i need to continue or should i rant till teh end of eternity? i mean we are trying hard thoughs of us who are left.

Obseen, I will say this in the most respectful way and with the best intention. Please use better grammar and proper punctuation and all. Maybe it's because I'm as tired as heck but reading your post was a true challenge.
Back to topic. MDG's came up with the title, the idea of mercenaries, perhaps the ranking if I'm not mistaken. She even came up with a main RP. We still have pretty much all that, more or less. What I'm asking is: If you, Wielder, would have to start a guild off from scratch, would you do the same thing? Would you name it the same and do the same things that have been done? And if you do, are you sure that's your idea or just an idea based off someone else's? We discuss a lot of stuff with GRAVITE and some things were modified but still. It's like baking a cake: If you screw up with the dough, then the cake is gonna suck no matter how many sprinkles and decorations you add up. You gotta start from scratch over again so people won't get chronic diarrhea and then add the fancy toppings.
What I'm saying is that you're partially right: We're no longer on MGS's idea, but she put the foundations. So far, I don't see that working. So why not start anew? Everyone here would feel more connected to the guild if they felt like they were a crucial part in the creation of it. I mean, really think about it. Pretending that you have a bunch of friends and you wanna start a guild and you've never heard of the GML, what would you do?
Second. Yes, characters always need to be scaled down. But I don't really see that problem here, or at least it's not that bad. Believe me, I've seen characters that are a minute away from turning into gods. But here, well, everyone takes a hit every now and then and they certainly have weaknesses. I know I do. Now, ignoring people is not something that happens willingly. There's fault from both sides; the people who have their thing going on and perhaps even something planned out and the people who are waiting for an opening or an invitation. They both gotta meet in the middle for this to work and that's not always the case. Wielder is very adamant in making us a community so if someone is being ignored, it's not happening on purpose. It can be fixed but, again, they must meet halfway down the road.
As far as paying for another guild, that's fine. Banners, signatures, gold, all that is the least of our worries. I'm pretty sure most of us would be willing to help anyway (Last time we talked about moving the guild, there were like five people who were willing to donate around 20k). And speaking of which, I could just donate my guild for that. I have an empty guild that's been empty for years and that I've been holding on to, I don't know why. Since I'm not doing anything with it, I might as well donate it for a good cause.
Third, we've tried contests and whatnot. I remember we even had a Halloween avi contest last year and it was quite popular. But that's only a temporary diversion, or at least that's the way I see it. Unless you're really into designing avatars, a Tektek contest might not appeal to you, though you might post a couple of comments about the contests, but that's all. Same with art contests. We need something that attracts people and keeps them here, something RP related since this is an RP based guild which is why I suggest THE TOURNAMENT. Seriously, it's all set and all...

Alright, K's convinced me. We'll make a new guild. (I have a couple extra we can use, and plenty of gold for subs) In this guild, we will have three purposes. Firstly, We'll be Roleplay Vigilantes, as we theoretically are now. Secondly, We'll be a Roleplaying Community, as we realistically are now. Thirdly, We'll be a host for a Tournament of Roleplaying skill, as we have tried to be. If no one has any objections, then this is probably what we'll do. Start from scratch, not just move the guild. Also, K` the warrior ...We're no longer on MGS's idea, but she put the foundations. Since when have we been talking about Metal Gear Solid? wink

im down for it i just wish to keep this place open incase we fail at the new one, i am all in to fallow the leader, for thats what i do. now, maybe this will work let me try and make it work with the crew from here that are active and ill put all my time into it maybe we can do somthing right. i got time to kill at this and maybe it will work

See? Everyone is always willing to donate stuff. I still have my empty guild but it seems Wielder's got that covered.
Now, I've shared my idea and I obviously want to expose the pros of moving into a new guild because I believe it would work. But if someone doesn't please share with us why and try to convince us otherwise. I might be overlooking something or there might be some problems we might encounter and that we can discuss here before we make a drastic move.
In my opinion, if we all care about this community, it doesn't matter what guild we move in. We'll still be a community. But I would be against having this guild as a back-up plan. People would be divided; half of them might come back here and half of them might go to the new guild and that's not the point. If we're moving, then everyone needs to be devoted to that guild in order to make it work. There would be no turning back. This is why, like Wielder said, if anyone has something to say, there will be no better time than now.

I like this guild setup the way it is. However, we could keep THIS guild as the RPing one, and you could make an offshoot/branch of it as a purely recreational guild (meant for chatting, social interactions, etcetera), Wielder.
I'm just really used to the GML as where I go for my small bouts of RP... I'm quite attached to having Alida do IC stuff on here. (Yes, I'm also still attached to having the earned rank system - and her rank of Gunnery Sergeant - IC, too. Call me old fashioned. wink
