You don't go around claiming to be top gun Cade... at least not character wise. And most of your characters have age and knowledge behind them, so many don't even fall under the same fail as others.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyho, this page has been linked to by Caiyo's guild for the still learning Rpers, and one of the has asked me to this.
Types of Energy
As you may have guessed, this is a extension stub of the Energy vs Matter post, focusing on an explanation of energy.
So, as far as I see, here is the list:
Physical energy- Heat, electricity, radiation, microwaves, gamma rays and light. These energies are the classic examples and are known to be, simply by the way we define them, different types of physical energy. Tangible to the regular senses. Things that can be observed in nature through science.
Metaphysical energy- This is where we get things like Life and mana energies. Mana/spirit energy/chi/chackra- mana is the radiant energy of the that comes from spirituality. A strong spirit produces strong and/or abundant mana. As such, magic and spiritual magic, as I'm sure I've stated before, should be synonymous. Spirit magic, however, is just spiritual energy, the radiant energy of the spirit, should be synonymous.
Life energy- while we'd like to often think that as spiritual energy, and in some cases, that is true, life energy is actually the glue to the spirit soul and body. While Mana grows with spirit and only decays at death, and sometimes not even then, life energy simply is the fuse that slowly draws to a close. In a some cases, creatures are directly tied to their spiritual energy, such a immortals. When their life energy is dispensed they expire because it is their life fuel. In a vampire, they must feed off of the life blood of others to prolong their own lives.
Soul energy- Probably the stupidest energy to use, but also the most powerful of those mentioned so far. Soul energy is energy that is "le gasp" wrought from the soul. It is one's will power solidified into raw energy. In most cases, soul energy is focused into "soul weapons" which are representative of a character. Having that weapon shattered or absorbed means that is a part of your soul lost. Some users even fire off beams and lasers. While in some cases I can let this slide, since users of Soul can will their powers to dye off, or rather return, you are still using your very soul, your own essence as a weapon. Examples of this would be Bleach's zanpakuto. In most cases, the breaking of a Zanpakuto means that the fighter's focus, their will, is gone, and it breaking usually signifies them being close to death. While this plays into spirit and life energy, I would like to note that the spirit and soul are not considered one entity in most teachings. Yes we hear body, soul, spirit, less than mind, body, soul, however, could you say that our mind is what tells the body to portray what sort of "spirit" we are in at that moment?
Dimensional energy- This is a special category for shadow/ darkness users and high order alchemists.
Shadow/Darkness: I don't care what people want to say, when you bend a shadow and use it as a manner in which is akin to a blast, you are using dark energy, and I do mean the invisible energy that apparently around 70% of space consists of. As such for a shadow to become tangible, it must be given mass and since we don't want to claim is has an elemental make up, that simply leave the use of dark energy. Point blank.
Alchemy: There are a lot of cases where characters simply turn a large rock which is likely to be granite, into a steel sword. To pull this off, you would have to turn the matter which have mass, into pure energy of equal mass, and then into a new element. That's not impossible, since matter and and anti-matter are created and destroyed constantly in stars. And before you start whining about matter being destroyed, I repeat matter and mass are not synonymous(look up mass vs relative mass). However, that still means that energy was solidified into a solid state with relative mass.
Special Energy sword I'm putting this here because I've been bothered by a few users who have tried to argue that their swords would not be eaten my Revan's. Characters have claimed that, because a weapon appears and acts like metal it should be to solid. However, this is a load of bull. Sure you can take the elements burning in the heat and arrange them in a manner that seems fairly stable and would act in such ways against regular weapons, however, if a weapon is created from pure energy, then it is still pure energy. Point blank. Simply because you can't take a blow torch and have a Star Ears lightsaber-esque fight. The flames would simply pass through each other. Some have even tried to argue about the sun have a solid core. If they would check again, the core is often solid IRON not fire.
(This probably sucks cause I'm tired and it's like 1 in the morning, so I'll likely redo this soon)

Wonderful post Revan. However, I know you have it in you to pack some more onto the Alchemy bit. But I'll just give an example of what Asuotchi use's.
Instead of actual alchemy, Asu guides atomic structures. For instance, We all know Hydrogen has a single atom. This means it's something of a barren wasteland compared to others. What Asu happens to do is quite simple. Take two hydrogen atoms. Part of Asu's power is guiding individual atoms, so he would force the two Hydrogen atoms to touch, and then using another factor of his power, Create a chemical bond between the two atoms. This would then create a molecule of Helium. Still got me?
Asu then can further combine atoms, and make differentiating amounts of atoms and atomic structures. This allows any shape to be formed, and just about any element, even unknown elements, to be created. This happens extremely fast as well, so it would appear as happening in less than a milisecond.
Asu also has control of atomic vibration and speed. This allows a form of energy, Heat, to be controled. Objects can be transversed between solid, liquid, gas, and even into the realms of plasma, as it all depends on how fast the atoms are vibrating and the speed of which they move.
I seem to have lost my train of thought... Choo-choo.

Indeed, that's some good info. Unfortunately, I've never gone to far into alchemy as I often have characters that simply reduce atoms to energy back into atoms to make up mass. So my knowledge of Alchemy is very limited and probably inaccurate at best. However, that's why I leave the corner open for others to explanation.
At the same time, Asu's powers I don't even place under alchemy. In the classical sense simply because the whole premise of applying some type of outside interference is not required. If the molecules are in his reach, he can simply make them. So in the end, he's not included there. And the reason being is what Asu does is what Demi-magic, what Revan's power, is, but to a great(Asu > Maxwell) extent. This is why while called Magic, it shouldn't be considered it.
Hmm, I guess I should put somewhere what Demi-Magic is somewhere in the Corner.
Btw, aren't you the one with the Cold energy user? The energy that basically consumes other energies?

Yes, Aoski is mine as well my dear Revan.
And it would be a good idea to explain Demi-magic. I'm assuming from your explanation earlier, is that Demi-magic is an ability that seems magic like, but isn't true magic per se?

Demi-Magic is a learned ability that allows for a person to rearrange the energies of objects that they are in direct contact with. Said energy can be physical, atomical, spiritual, magical, and if given the opportunity, life and even soul. In other words, if it has some form of energy, which most everything does, he can manipulate said energy. It is for this reason that he can take the feather's from his wing and straighten them. Basically, by arranging the energy is sturdy interlocking patterns, the feather itself becomes hard and rigid, like some materials when you run a current through it. It is also for this reason that he can make objects explode. And with the feather darts, by taking the energy and organizing it into specific ways that make the energy unstable, constantly pressing against itself to find stability. The way I explain it to my friends is that it's like organizing energy like faults of the crust. Eventually, the faults shift past each other creating an earthquake, Instead of an earthquake, you get explosion.
Revan has become so advanced in this that he can place his hand on a boulder and make all the energy explode away from him, saving him from being hit by the explosive force.
Now, with large objects with large amounts of energy, making the object explode is as simple as focusing it in the center and setting the "faults" like a timer. In small objects like the feathers, to make the explosions he makes, he must sacrifice his own energy to perform the process, which is why straitening the feathers is effortless, but making a large mass of exploding ones during the day (cause he's a vampire and and part bird which gives him a double wammy of endurance at night) is exhausting.
Now, this might seem like one huge advantage, being able to make people explode from touch as stuff, however, there is an issue with trying to do this to people. People's life force, natural energy(body heat, brain activity and stuff like that), spirit energy and even mana are constantly moving within the body and do not move in predictable ways. Thus for Revan to do anything, he's have to touch and hold a person still to get all that energy to move away from each other.
However, in this case that a character is made out of elements and spirit, or is a walking ball of energy, he doesn't have to try as hard sense it's basically all there anyways. Unfortunately, that means that if he gets a two second hold on someone like Cade, Vel, Chista (actually, since Chista is pure energy, it would be instant to the touch) and basically any character with massive amounts of spiritual energy, Revan could easily blow them up as compared to the like 10 seconds he would need against a normal person.
I'd also like to point out, before people start yelping, that Revan was created in a time where Roleplayers thought it was funny that normal people couldn't touch them because they were made of solidified darkness, shadows, flames, light, or some sort of energy, so that they couldn't be touched by normal attacks or weapons. Revan was my anti-assery character and soon became a main stay. This is the same reason why Revan's sword absorbs all ambient energy (even if it's been solidified).
Now I'd also like to point out that Revan holding the sword screws with his ability to use demi-magic. Not always. The guard of the Rapier is dragon metal, so while energy still seeps through the metal into the part of the blade inside, he can somewhat still use it. Still my point is, how can you hope to organize energy when you are holding something that will likely steal the energy from you simply trying to hold it?
I would also like to state that, while Revan could stop a big bang kamehameha wave using demi-magic, I would like to state that it would feel close to the equivalent to sticking his hands in molten rock. Feel like it. He'd survive, but he'd be pretty scared mentally and physically afterward.
Anyways, that's my long and informal explanation of Demi-magic. Honestly, it's Manipulation of All energies on a lower scale than all direct manipulation. It cannot be used to control energy in ways like per say, creating fire. The fire most be there first. Also, Revan could use his own natural abundance of spiritual energy to shoot beams of magic, spiritual, or soul energy, but honestly, why even bother?

But I asked about the Cold energy character because it's an interesting concept. From what you say, cold energy IS energy, however, it is energy that eats other energy much like the concept of my sword. It would be along the same lines as Caiyo's black fire too, since the black fire feeds off of other energies. Which makes me wonder what would happen if the two meet. In my mind, black fire would win because black fire doesn't give off heat or energy, and you stated that it was still energy. Instead, it turns it into mass, which would be it spreading.

Aoski opperates on the concept of actually adding/subracting something's atomic energy. Taking somethings atomic energy would therefore cause the vibration of the affected atoms to decrease, or even stop in the case of the temperature known as Absolute Zero.
I am understood that what we feel as "Heat" is the vibration of an objects or energies atoms. So if that vibrating energy was to be taken, it would cause the atom to loose "Heat." If this happened on a larger scale, for instance a glass of water, the molecules of H2O would loose "Heat" and then freeze.
That stolen energy is then turned into either Kinetic or potential energy, and used to speed up, or slow down Aoski.
There is alot more to the concept, but I don't want to give away all aspects of the power. I essentially made a detailed concept of controling aspects of Heat.

Demi-Magic So while going through some old drawings of mine, I found a piece of paper with some scribbles on Demi-Magic. And while I often never even use Demi-magic past a certain point when it comes to my usual Roleplays, I just realized just how powerful I made it.
You see, Demi-magic was based of the yin and yang concept. As such, energy falls under such that category as all things have a yin and yang energies or fall under the yin and yang premise. now, way back then, Demi-magic could actually be used to fuse two fundamentally different elements like fire and ice, to create a sort of pseudo-element. However, this was also back when Revan could shoot magical fireballs and use earth-justsu like spells. That's not the case anymore, however, I never intended for the idea to really change. However, it became easiest to just use energy manipulation offset as I purposely make doing things like disrupting the balance inside of a person to the point where they can't function properly.
Anywho,it is for this reason the Revan's ability to manipulate material he is in contact with is vast. Because honestly, you can take the thought behind how he uses feather darts and apply it to just about everything.
Our bodies have a series of degrees of balance inside us. Our body temperature in conjunction with our bodily functions. Our Heart rate in conjunction with our blood flow. The simple act of thinking in conjunction with our bodies movements. But let's just go back to the feather example. Like stated before, by taking the energies within and rearranging them in a new manner, Revan brings a sturdier balance to the structure. And my explanation is rather sound simply for the concept of that is how water turns to ice.
There is a lot more that I can do, following the same premise of using molecules and energy such as being able to manipulate energies into different types because of atomically decay. While yes, this is really simply matter turning into a different form of matter, the emission of different degrees of radiations.
Let's step a little further into the Yin Yang theology.
"Yin is soft while Yang is hard. Yin is stillness while Yang is movement. The sun is yang while the moon is yin. Female is Yin while Man is Yang. Mountain is Yin while the river is Yang. Intuitive is Yin while Logical is Yang. Winter is Yin while Summer is Yang and so on."
"Yin is characterized as slow, soft, yielding, diffuse, cold, wet, and passive; and is associated with water, earth, the moon, femininity and nighttime. Yang, by contrast, is fast, hard, solid, focused, hot, dry, and aggressive; and is associated with fire, sky, the sun, masculinity and daytime."
I'm sure some of you are familiar with Chinese Trigrams. Well the markings are made up of the symbols that represent yin and yang respectfully. And through examination of these representations, i realized that the theme continuously remains on two forces, not so simply energies. Now I'm not saying that Demi-magic allows its user to to go about dabbling in elemental control... well, I am, and they can but that would be both stupid and difficult... I'd like to state that the material and immaterial reach out far deeper than we might like to believe.
That being said, by coming across my notes I have discovered abilities that would make many of you cringe and spite me. I'm not going to even begin to give away any more than I already have, but demi-magic is a force not to be trifled with.
I would like to state that, much like my main stay, Revan, this power was created during a time where people hide their lack of physical prowess and understanding behind a vale of powers that were really just stupidly powerful for no reason or for powers that were so called, uncounterable.
All in all, Demi-magic, as I have stated multiple times, should not be considered a magic as it revolves around a direct link to the energies. In a sense, you could call the ability and in between between psionics and manipulation, because it does include the direct physical rearrangement of energies through the process of mind, in a sense, the user must have a sort of connection with object, whether it is unwanted or not.
This is also why trying to use Demi-magic to stop large scale energy based attacks is retarded. you need to first have contact.

They're never on when I plan changes and by the time they are, they're confused on what I mean because they didn't read the explanation I sent them. If I change something that I created to help it flow better, they get all pissy and claim it makes things harder to follow. (Harder to follow?! I just killed off all the people that their characters never made any contact with or even mentioned and that's hard to follow? Bull Spit!) God I hate those two. >.> Xeris and the others always follow along with no problem but you always have to have those few that need a reason to complain. People suck. gonk

Ledon Kester Question: Why would Asu need to use a chemical bond on atoms? Wouldn't he/she only need to create an atomic bond being that chemicals are themselves atomic structures? Just a thought. The answer is quite simple. The phrase you used, "atomic bond" doesn't exist. Atoms are only bound through chemical bonding. And no other way but that. "Chemical bonding" is simply the phrase coined because the chemical made is not so simply one thing.
If Asu has a plethora of carbon, he could technically make:
Coal Carbon Glass Graphit Diamond
And the list goes on. In all cases, the the atomic structure is still supported by a chemical bond. Cade's Edit:: The Diamond one is the one that interests me the most, i was personally thinking about having a character that used carbon to produce diamond around his body as a defense.

Alas, Cade, that's actually a horrific defense. Think of it like this:
Glass is the hardest element in the world to scratch.... and is more likely to shatter by blunt force than reinforced glass is.
If anything, I would say go with carbon glass. Much more structurally sound.
...Is it weird that I know these things without having to wiki myself anymore?
