His jaw dropped. Totally, completely, dropped. All Prized could do for a second was stare at the mare, stunned beyond belief. How on earth did she keep doing this to him? Shaking his head, he began to get angry. "Now see here, little girl," He laid his ears back and sneered the last word at her. "I am nowhere near an ox! Oxen are lazy, and fat, and ugly, and I'm a stallion! A pure blood, prize winning stallion!"

He pawed the ground, nearly seething. If a horse could growl, Prized was doing it. "I'm getting a drink." And with that he turned abruptly and stormed off. Unfortunately, the pond was the opposite way, and it took him a minute to realize this. When he did, he stopped, huffed, spun around, and stomped past Aisling to the watering hole.

Picking her chin up and snorting in triumph, Aisling felt no regret in the things she said. She liked being a wise arse. And he did start it. With his "higher than thou" attitude. Maybe now he'd think twice about it. At least with her.

She trotted after him, not quite finished. He greatly amused her in a way the other colts didn't. "Yeah, alright," she admitted, still grinning at her antics. "An ox is more black." Galloping past him, she reached the pond first and waded in up to her knees. Bending down just enough, she ducked her head under and brought it up so the water trickled down her neck. After that long run, it was very cooling.

"You give up too easily," she commented, shaking out her mane and blowing the water out from her nose.

Prized stopped at the edge of the water, debating. "Oh really?" He jumped into the water and splashed as much as he could on Aisling, not realizing how childish he was acting until she was soaking wet. Letting out a snort he dipped his muzzle in the water and took a long drink, eyes warily on the mare.

The mare blinked the water out of her eyes. Okay, she admitted she hadn't expected that. A little retort, maybe, at shaking her wet mane at him. But not to be left soaking wet.

Her surprise, fortunately, didn't last very long. Raising her eyebrows at him, she ducked her head like she was going to take a drink and ignore the fact her entire body was dripping wet. Taking a deep breath, she sucked as much water into her mouth as she could. Giving the stallion an evil grin, she quickly pulled her mouth out of the water and squirted him in the face, grinning like an idiot afterward.

"Pfft pfft pfft!!!" Prized stuttered, and fell backwards onto his haunches. Ok, SO should have seen that one coming. Sitting in the water, his ears flat, water dripping off his face, forelock plastered down his nose, and eyes nearly bugging out, he knew he no longer looked like a trophy. "Now, that just wasn't right!" Snorting, Prized stood up, drew in as much water as his mouth could hold, and squirted that mare right back!

"Ha!" He whinnied, prancing at his perfect aim: right between her eyes.

"Jokes on you," she told him, sticking out her tongue. "I'm already soaked." Aisling stood back up, not bothering to shake out her wet mane this time. Not until she was on dry land and well away from the pond. She dared not trust him, again, near it. "But you're not!" With a sly grin, she turned her back on him and kicked at the water with her back hooves not once, but three times. Hoping to get him wet enough for pay back.

"How's that?" She turned her head and stuck out her tongue, again, prancing off down the pond to shallower water and raised her head high in her triumph.

With a squeal the stallion fell over off his haunches and into the pond, which most definitely soaked him to the core! Not that it made a difference, the splashing alone did the job before he fell! Prized scrambled to his hooves, spitting and sputtering and way out of his comfort zone.

For a minute, he wasn't sure if he was angry or... having fun? Finally deciding, his head whipped around -for he had gotten turned around trying to avoid the walls of water- and he glared at the mare. Seeing she had moved, he stomped up to her, still glaring, then without warning he squirted another shot of water at her and scrambled out of the pond, splashing as much as he could on the way out and whinnying with glee.

Once a safe distance from the water's edge, Prized pranced in place, stuck his tongue out at her, and said, "How's that?"

Aisling stood her ground, her head still held high. She watched his face for a bit, noting the battle she saw go across his features. If he had so desired to decide he wanted to be mad at her, it wouldn't have frightened her. No stallion could scare her. She prided herself very much in her lack of fear over anything. If someone were to dare her to waltz right into a settlement of humans, she would. And bet them she could come back unscratched, even!

The mare's eyes widened as the stream of water hit her on the nose. So, it seemed he had decided on whatever was conflicting him inside his mind. With a whinny of glee herself, she took a leap out of the water and landed on the bank. She flicked her hair off her forehead. It fell limply besides her head. Giving herself a great shake, she attempted to rid herself of most of the water.

"My herd is going to wonder what happened to me when I get back," Aisling chuckled, walking closer to him and standing some feet away. Her breath came out faster. After the run and the play in the water, she was completely beat. Her head hung a little lower than usual.
