The brunette stared at Mr. Beck, her mouth slightly open. No way! This wasn't happening! She had to get the worst play she could possibly get and had to work with him? Didn't Mr. Beck have any brains with him today? She couldn't work with Derek Drake. Hello, he was a Drake! Her father was mad enough about her having to go to the Drake's public school and she didn't want to think how he'd react if he found out she had now been partnered with him. What had Mr Beck been thinking? Everyone knew about the feud between the two families so why had he put them working together? This was going to be the worst project ever. She wasn't looking forward to having to meet out of school. Where could they go? They surely couldn't go to either of their houses since their parents would probably freak out, but where? Well, there was that nice clearing by the waterfall on her land were she went with the horses a lot. Though they could only go there if Mr. Popular could actually ride a horse since the trail was only accessible by horseback. Alexis ran her fingers through her brown hair and caught the glances and glares form the others. She locked eyes with Madelyn and glared right back at her. If the girl even said one word to Alexis, she would snap. First period wasn't even over and this was already one of the worst days of her life. Did the world hate her or something? It sure seemed like it.
Alexis sighed and stared down at her desk. She didn't even hear Mr. Beck give out the rest of the partners. Oh why had she been put with Derek? He hated her, his whole family hated her! And the stupid thing was, they only hated her because her last name was Storm. If it had been any other name then they wouldn't. It was stupid because what did it matter? It was years ago when everything happened, why couldn't everyone just forgive and forget? She didn't choose to be a Storm but that didn't matter. Whether she chose it or not, she was a Storm and she wasn't ashamed of who she was. Although, of all people to be partnered with, Mr. Beck just had to pick him, and with Romeo and Juliet too! Alexis would have preferred any play other then that one! The brunette ran her fingers through her hair and glanced toward Nate and Madelyn before looking at Derek. She'd have to get one thing clear with him, there was no way she was going to work with him if his friends were going to be there too. She'd much rather do the whole project alone and just put his name on it. Then, a thought crossed her mind. She had won. Or, at least, she had won with Madelyn. It was quite clear that the girl had wnated to work with Derek but now she was working with Nate and Alexis was working with Derek. So, perhaps, there was a silver lining. Alexis smirked and looked at Madelyn, giving her a fake smile. She wasn't afraid of Madelyn because Alexis knew she could beat the girl up with ease. The brunette did go to the gym twice a week just to have a round with the punching bag or spare with one of the gym's trainers. Though she doubted Madelyn would ever get into a real fight with her. The closest thing they'd probably get was some fake girly fight.
Her head snapped back toward Mr. Beck as he cleared his throat and grabbed a stack of books from his desks. Well, at least they didn't have to buy the book. She watched him hand out the books and looked at her copy of Romeo and Juliet. It was in fairly good condition and seemed to still be fully intact. Looked like Mr. Beck kept good care of his books. Nikki sighed and looked back at the teacher. "Alright, now for the last fifteen minutes in class, I want you to get together with your partner and plan out when you will meet and how this will work. Remember, you can get as creative as you want for the presentation and have fun! If you have any questions feel free to ask," he told the class before taking a seat at his desk. Alexis let out a soft groan and looked at Derek. She wasn't going to sit next to him and his friends, even if she was paid. Instead, she shot him a look that clearly told him she wasn't coming anywhere near his friends. If he wanted to plan out their schedule then he had to come back here. Alexis crossed her arms and leaned back in her seat, waiting for her partner to come over.

The tall sandy brown haired boy sighed and pushed his chair back, gathering his books. He could tell she wasn't moving; so he'd have to. He could feel the fury and anger radiating from Madelyn. What puzzled him was why she was so angry. Shocked he could understand, but angry? Shrugging off his thoughts, he turned and manuevered his way to the back of the room, stares following him. At that moment he wished he could disappear. He pulled the chair out next to her and sat down slowly, meeting her eyes evenly with a slight lopsided smile. "Okay. . . How are we going to do this?" Derek asked, his gaze traveling to his book. It was in quite good condition, but weathered from use. Obviously Mr. Beck took very good care of his books. Derek reverted his gaze back to Alexis, his riveting blue eyes locked on her. If it was any other girl, they'd be fidgeting and giggling. But he could tell Alexis was different. She held her head high with pride. She wasn't afraid to stand her ground. She wanted to fight back against Madelyn, but she didn't, for some reason. And she was strong. Derek admired those qualities, wishing he could be as independent and proud as she appeared to be. Shaking his thoughts free, he refocused on the project. The silence was antagonizing. He wished the class was over so he could suffer through his next classes, then escape to the stables. With Kiera, of course! Derek held his sapphire gaze with Alexis's brown, refusing to be intimidated.

Stand up for what is right, even if you're standing alone╔════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Nathaniel moaned as his alarm went off. "Hijo! despertarse!" his mother called from the kitchen. Nate again groaned and turned off his alarm clock. that thing is so annoying! He thought tiredly. The young man pulled himself off of his bed. "Hey! Football season's starting soon!" he said excitedly to himself. Nathaniel smiled and made his way to the bathroom. "Madre! Where's my toothbrush?!" he yelled through the large house. His mom came in with her -don't yell if you're at the other side of the house- look on her face and pointed to the spot. "Oh... heh heh, sorry" Nate smiled and brushed his teeth, rinsed and quickly hopped in for a quick shower. He was still smiling when he came out of the bathroom. Nathaniel walked to his large closet and pulled out: A plaid t-shirt and black jeans. He slipped into his clothes. The young football player wondered if the feud between his best friends family and the Storms would ever end. not likely.
Nate's mother poked her head into his room. "Need a ride hon?". Nathaniel shook his head. "Nah, I've got a car... remember?" he smiled. "I remember all to well sweety. How you weaseled it out of us, I'll never know" his mother joked.
The young man laughed and slipped on his shoes. Nathaniel paused at his full length mirror. He smiled, Nate was pretty well built. But, that was because he almost always worked out with Derek, his best friend since First Grade. Nate loved to watch his friend take pictures. Nathaniel wasn't the best photographer, he was more of a photo editor than a photographer. The young man snatched up his bag, his keys, Nathaniel put his guitar into his case, picked that up and of course, took his football. Him and Derek would toss it around in their spare while they caught up.
Nathaniel was about to go to his car, when his
dog padded up to him. "Sorry November" he began "Gotta go to school". Nathaniel hopped into his car and drove to school. Letting the fresh air sooth him.
Nate's blue convertible pulled into his school parking spot. We must both like blue cars. Nathaniel thought as he noticed Derek's blue truck.

Nate shook his head. "No man, Haven't heard about that yet. Guess we have to wait like everyone else" he smiled and wondered who his partner would be.

Nathaniel patiently waited for Mr. Beck to enter the room. To pass time he was drawing some pictures. At the moment, the young man was drawing a picture of his dog, November sitting with a sunset in the background. I'll have to get my colors later he thought. Nate remembered why he'd named her November. She happened to be born in that month, But he had wanted a different name. Unique.
Nate nodded and smiled. cool. Nathaniel caught Maddie's eye. He shared the smile with her when she finally looked at him. He really didn't mind being her partner. They were best friends. But he had hoped to meet someone new through this. oh well
... Mhm... Macbeth? Haven't read about that in a while. Need to go refresh my memo--- Nathaniel's thoughts stopped dead when he head who Derek's partner was, and worse, which play they were doing.
He looked at Derek and Madelyn, knowing they were thinking what he was.
"Uhm... Mr. Beck?" Nathaniel asked as he stood up and sat down beside Madelyn. "Do you think it's wise. To put... The football CAPTAIN with... Alexis? Don't'cha think she'll be intimidated by his talent and... Good looks" he joked. It pained Nathaniel to tease like that. But it was what everyone expected of him. Alexis glanced toward Derek as he walked over to her. Noticing the other student's looks, the brunette shot them cold glares. Why couldn't people just mind their own business? Alexis's brown gaze met Derek's and she pushed her a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She watched him meet her gaze and sat in silence for a few minutes, trying to think of an answer to his question. Well, there were many possibilities on how they could do it but only one way they would. Alexis had some conditions about them working together and she was pretty sure Derek did too. The biggest thing had to be that their families could not find out about this. The brunette opened her mouth to answer him when she heard Nate speak up. Alexis's brown eyes narrowed dangerously. That little jerk! That's what he was! Stupid, immature, selfish, mean, jerk! Alexis clenched her fist, trying to hold herself back but she felt herself being pulled closer and closer to the edge. These kids really did love teasing at her and it was starting to get over the top. This was why she didn't want work with Derek or anything of his friends! Intimidated by his talent? Yeah right! As the comment started to sink in more it became harder for Alexis to stay seated. Derek really did have super nice friends! Finally sick and tired of the teasing, Alexis stood up and pushed her chair back in the process. "Look here you jerk! Either you shut your mouth or I'll make you! It'll be fun to see how you talk with a big fat lip! And if you think for even a second I'm intimidated by Derek's "talent" and "good looks" then you have something wrong up in your brain! A rock has has more talent then he ever will!" she snapped cruelly, not caring if she got into trouble. She ignored the looks of shock coming from the other students, mainly the girls, in the class. Guess they didn't know that Alexis Storm wasn't afraid to stand up for herself. Normally, she would have sat and dealt with Nate's comment but not today. Any other day she would have just sat and given him a death glare but the teen had finally snapped. Of course, after class, she'd go back to standing back and taking their harsh words but she had needed to get some of her anger out. It felt good now that she had. Like some part of a heavy load had been lifted off of her. "Both of you stop it! Nate, that comment was unnecessary and Alexis that wasn't appropriate at all. If this happens again both of you will receive detention. now get back to work," Mr. beck said firmly and Alexis took her seat again, shooting Derek a glare. God this really wasn't her day!

He usually looked to her for approval because she was the best at teasing. Nate wanted to make sure he could make his teasing believable. Not matter how much he didn't want to tease, he had to, not because he liked it, because he didn't, he hated it. But because it was what everyone expected of him. Nathaniel turned his attention to his drawing while he waited for Madelyn's reaction. The young man looked up to see Alexis fuming. wonder if she's going to blow. He wondered.
Nathaniel started to run some ideas through his head. They could either go to his house, or Maddie's house. Then they would do some research on Macbeth. To refresh their memories. Nate couldn't wait to get home. He'd go for a walk with November, bringing his guitar of course. And go to that one secret, secluded spot that only he knew about. It was in the forest behind his house. Nate had made a barely visible pathway through the grass. In the middle there was a small pond, and a big boulder that he would sit on while playing guitar. Nathaniel loved it there. There was more to the young man than everyone thought. He wasn't the jerk he was supposed to be. He was actually a lot nicer than you'd think. There was a lot to learn if you'd dig deeper. Derek occasionally saw that side of him.
Nathaniel looked up at Alexis' comment. "HEY! Yeah sure, I'd love to see you try! My brain, Alexis, is perfectly fine! Yours on the other hand, has bees in it if you think Derek isn't talented.

Alexis glared at Nate as he snapped back. She knew she could beat the boy up. At her old school, she had beat up boys twice his size. Besides, it wouldn't be that hard. At him mentioning that Derek's "talent" got him to be the captain of the football team, she just rolled her eyes. His parents probably bought that place for him, just like they got him anythign his spoiled heart desired. She leaned back in her chair and looked at Nate as he spoke to Mr. Beck. He really was a jerk, just like every other kid in this school. "At least I didn't start it, you brat" she mumbled, not caring if Derek heard her or not. She made sure that no one else could hear it though. She had never had a detention in her life and wanted to keep it that way. Honestly, the brunette didn't care what the people at the school thought of her. She knew who she was and wasn't going to let others push her down. Alexis glared at Nate and Madelyn, her head high. They could do whatever they wnated to her, but they would never see her give up. She'd fight until her last breath because she wasn't a quitter. She was a fighter. She had trained all of her family's horses and had learned not to be afraid, even after one put her in a coma. Alexis sighed and let her thoughts drift to her horses, even thinking of them calmed her down. Her family had their own private stables on their land and raised and bred horses. Alexis loved showing the horses and took pride in raising the foals. Her mother was never interested in horses so it used to just Alexis and her father, until he lost his job. Now it was just Alexis taking care of the horses. The family even had to hire their stable hand to save money. Not that Alexis minded, she was perfectly capable of taking care of the horses alone. The brunette then glanced back toward Derek, her arms crossed. She wanted to be anywhere but here at the moment. This was going to be the worst project in the world. Hopefully Mr. Big Shot here had a brain because Alexis was not failing this assignment.

She turned her head to look at Nate and addressed his question. "Unless you have anything on Macbeth or can explain it all to me, I suggest the library because I know nothing about it." She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. She paused before continuing, making sure that only Nate could hear her. "Nate ... I'm worried about Derek. He and that girl Alexis -" she said the name with such displeasure "- being partners ... it isn't going to turn out well. I cannot believe Mr. Beck paired them up together!" She eyed the teacher. "Everyone in town knows about the rivalry. It was such a big deal when it happened. I'm really worried about him," she repeated.
When the bell rang she gathered up all of her stuff. "We can go over the project later or at lunch or something," she said to Nate, walking out the door. They met up with Derek and she asked, "How was it working with Little Ms. Tomboy?" she asked loudly, her words dripping with scorn and sarcasm. She really was concerned about him, though. She didn't like what was coming and she didn't want Alexis to make a move on him. She lowered her voice just a little so it wasn't projected for the whole hallway to hear. "Seriously, though, I can't believe Mr. Beck paired you guys up together. And with Romeo and Juliet? That is ridiculous!" she said. {You showed me something that I couldn't see

It seemed biology was longer than usual. She didn't necessarily hate biology, but it wasn't really her best subject either. She was more of a math geek. She left the classroom and began to wander down the long hallways of this school. This school was nice if you ignored the rude comments coming from practically everyone that meets your gaze. Allison had grown used to it. She knew there was nothing she could do so she had to suck it up. There was no point in complaining when there simply was nothing to be done. If going to this school could help her family save money and hopefully regain the money they had lost, well then she would gladly come here. Besides, it wasn't all that bad ever since she joined the cheerleading team. People started to back off from her because the squad had her back. Though she couldn't say it was so easy for her little sister. Especially since Romeo and his friends were always teasing her. She had warned them once before to knock it off and she was serious then. If they didn't listen to her warning well then there would be hell to pay. She wasn't going to stand back anymore.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she hear Madelyn's shrill voice as loud as ever throughout the hallway. She heard the sarcasm in her voice and she made her way towards them. She knew she was talking about Alexis and she was not going to let it slide. As she made her way over she heard Madelyn say something was ridiculous. She smirked as she stood beside Madelyn. "What's ridiculous? The way your hair looks today? Because I completely agree with that. I mean seriously Madelyn. Can't you do something with that awful mop on your head? I guess it doesn't matter. That face of yours is going to make everything look ugly no matter what you do. But I hear there's this thing called plastic surgery. I think that would be perfect for you! Plus you could use the implants if you know what I mean." she said with a bright smile and a giggle before she waved goodbye and walked away. If that didn't shut Madelyn's big mouth than her fist would. Allison was more than just a pretty face. Even if I needed plastic surgery - which I clearly don't - at least I would actually be able to afford it!" she taunted. She knew that the only reason the Storm girls had had to enroll in this school was because neither the mother nor the father were employed. But even she knew she had gone to far there. Oh well. It didn't matter to her. She smiled brightly at the girl. "What's the matter? Upset because you know it's true?" she said triumply. She snickered and waved her fingers at her.
She turned to Derek and Nate. "Thanks for that," she said appreciatively to Nate and smiled at him. "I owe you one." She said and rolled her eyes in Allison's direction. "I mean, who does she think she is, for crying out loud. Just because she is on the cheerleading team doesn't mean she can parade around like that. I am so sick of her and her sister." She spotted Alexis walking to her next class. "Hey, new girl," she said and Alexis' head turned in her direction. "Still wandering around like a lost puppy, eh? Let me give you some directions. Turn around and go out those doors -" she pointed to the large double doors marked EXIT - "go home and pack up all your stuff in a suitcase. Then drive to the nearest airport and buy a ticket for the next plane out of here. I suggest buying coach. Definitely not first class. I don't know if your family could afford it. And then all you have to do then is never come back!" She smiled mockingly and then it disappeared from her face as quickly as it came. "Now get out of my sight," she ordered and shooed her away.
She turned back and rolled her eyes. "Gawsh, they are so annoying," she muttered and ran her free hand through her hair. "What are you going to do about the English project, Derek? Are you going to ask to switch partners or something?" she asked. It was what she expected him to do. If she was in his position, she would've traded partners in a heartbeat. "Or if your parents can't afford coach. You can always ride with the suitcases" he added to Madelyn's comment. Nathaniel nodded "Yeah. Dude, no one expects you to stay being Alexis' partner... I could....." Nate pulled a disgusted face "I could take your place.... I'm used to taking one for the team" Nate offered.
Nathaniel paused for a moment. "Hey man, you going jogging after school?" he asked his best friend. EVen if Derek wasn't going to go jogging. Nate would. He'd take November and his guitar and they'd go to his secret spot. But if Derek did join him, he'd leave his guitar at home and just jog randomly with Derek.
Nathaniel jumped in between Madelyn and Allison. "Okay! I'll be quiet. For now. And so will Madelyn. Right?!
There's no need to start a fight." he lowered his arms. "But really, Madelyn's a great girl. I wouldn't let her pay guys to do anything with her" he said. "If you're nicer, then why'd you just punch someone?" Nathaniel looked at Allison. He really hoped he was doing a good job at hiding how much he was not enjoying this. "Look, we can try. But sometimes things slip out. Especially when we're being defensive. You should know that. We can try to shut up. But I don't know if it's possible... But there will be no fighting. Nate jumped infront of her, but she just ignored him. She just crossed the line there, she thought. She glared at the other girl murderously. "Yeah, call me a b***h. Think I care? But pay people to sleep with me? Who the hell do you think you are for crying out loud?" she exclaimed. "And you think you have natural beauty? Please. You wouldn't know beauty if it bit you on your a**."
Madelyn stepped foward around Nate and put her hands on her hips so she was face to face with the other girl. "I don't care that you are a freaking cheerleader," she hissed, lowering her voice an octave. "You could be the freaking president and I still wouldn't give a damn. You b***h to me you better expect it's coming right back at you and your sister. So, yeah, you want me to leave you guys alone? I'll start when you do." Madelyn relaxed a little now that she got it all out of her system. She breathed deeply and counted to ten silently insider her head. She wasn't going to let him tell her that she was the bad guy. None of this would've ever happened if they had just kept their mouths shut like she had told them. Her and her sister never said a mean thing about them unless they were talking amongst themselves. They're the ones that made the entire school hate the Storm family. They're the ones that continued to annoy them. They're the ones that created this chaos.
Allison turned her gaze to Madelyn as she stepped around Nathaniel. She listened to what she had to say and then she just laughed. "I don't want you to give a damn. I just want you to shut the hell up. And I don't b***h to you until I hear you say some snotty comment about me or my sister. So I'll shut up once you learn to do the same. Get it, got it, good." she said before she walked away laughing. She was just hoping that now things would be done and over with. That Madely could keep her bitchy mouth shut and that Nathaniel wouldn't throw rude comments at her sister every now and then. She hoped that maybe this time her warning got through to them and that they could live normal lives now without any problems. She'd never like them and she knew they'd never like her.
