"yes, they are quite fascinating creatures. They live off the fungi and mold on the cavern walls, also quite harmless." Nightling smiled as the dim light seemed to grow as her eyes adjusted to the gloom. There wasn't much to the light, but it was enough to see the walls and know where one was going. Nightling was used to the quiet darkness, though now she was with someone else whom needed help and to her opinion, a lot of it. "Come on, the exit is quite a ways up the tunnel. You will have to lead, I will be right behind you."
She was trying to be calm, after taking a sweep of the outside, Nightling headed up the tunnel behind the fear stricken mare. She wondered why she was so jumpy, had someone hurt her before? Or in the very least scared the wit out of the poor thing? These were things that she could ask when they got to her home. The cup like valley that laid at the top of the tunnel. But that was going to have to wait, first things first, they had to reach it. With how this one moved, it would take a while.

Frost inched forward cautiously, glancing over her shoulder occasionally to make sure the other mare wasn't pulling some stunt or abandoning her. Ironic, most of the time Frost wished for the other horses to just go away and leave her alone. But this tunnel was long, unfamiliar, and dimly lit. She didn't want to be on her own just now. She tried to keep a brisk pace, but she was worried about tripping over something.

With a soft sigh, Nightling trudged behind the skittish mare up the long path way. if she had been a head, she would have been there already and the mare would have probably ran out the back and into the forest once again. Craning her neck some to watch the tunnel a head, she noted that they were almost there. Small shafts of light were shining through the curtain of ivy. That was the exit, and this one was being quite careful where Nightling could dance and not trip over anything. That's what she got for living here for a while.
"Just a little farther, then we shall be out of the darkness and into the moonlight. The valley is small and I share it with my growing family. But my Mate and children should be asleep in the back den, cause if it rather late by now. Nightling said trying to be reassuring. Wanting to urge the mare ever forwards, she resisted poking her with her horn. "Up there you can rest, eat, drink and just relax Frost. By morning those of the night should be gone and you can leave by which ever means you like."

Forst sensed Nightling's frustrations and shrank in on herself just a bit more. Still, she picked up her pace, trying not to upset the other mare too much. After all, angry soquili were cruel soquili. She had too much experience with those.

Frustration might not have been the right word to express Nightling's feelings, but it could have been close to it. With the pick up in pace and the tunnel exit closing in. She would be happy to escape the confines and get back out into the open. Also there wasn't too much 'cruelty' in Nightling, much to say she could make someone feel back about certain things. But she never truly hit something. Passing through the vines at the other end of the tunnel and stepping back into the sanctity of home. Nightling wandered away from Frost and over towards the pond that laid to one side. She would leave her to settle down. "Welcome to my home Frost. We are high above the Kalona forest. Even though some might not think so. But trust me, nothing can get us up here." she smiled calmly, whatever had happened within the tunnel seemed to have vanished and she was just herself again.
"Now you can graze, drink and relax if you like. If you need me, I shall be in that cave over there." She turned her head towards the dimly lit entrance of her home. The pale moonlight barely seeping into the home. But there was still a sort of softness to it, some how. With a another warm smile, Nightling trotted off towards the cave, her hooves making soft clipclops against the stone on the ground as she drew closer.

Frost nodded a bit, to let her companion know she understood, but she didn't move far from the entrance of the tunnel. She really didn't know much what to do now, except to wait until the sun rose and she could move on. Though the other mare seemed to be feeling better, Frost still couldn't shake the feeling that she was an inconvenience. But then, that had nothing to do with Nightling and everything to do with Frost's own insecurities.
