My shook her head, "you are only saying that because I am not near to you. Trust when I say even wounded my legs have much strength in them. Do not fret. I have more to dish out."

Maia's words were calm and collected, very polite in the tone. One would hardly tell that she was intended to seriously hurt, even maim the boy before her. Well that was of course, if she could get close enough to him to kick him again.

Again the chain was headed for her and she jumped once more thankful the stupid thing was aimed lower. Maia jumped, this time toward the boy, the chain slashing through her boot, but otherwise leaving her unharmed. Thank heavens for the boot. She hated them so much for their incessant clicking, but couldn't hate them in the moment.

She was much closer to the boy now and leap foot out to kick in the stomache. She knew she mostly clicked be stabbed or chained for this action because avoiding him at such close range would most likely be unavoidable, but defeating him otherwise would be impossible. The boy did not seem like a close range fighter and Maia was so she had to take her chances.

He found that people were often concerned with his weapon going towards them with the first attack, but they often forgot about the return trip. No longer a weakness as he first perceived, calling back his weapon could be just as powerful than the first throw to send it out. When the girl not only dodged his weapon on the first round but jumped towards him, he knew that he needed more distance. He knew his weakness and he wasn't about to kid that someone else couldn't figure that out. Credit would be given in that he knew that some senshi were smart. Some.

No longer sluggish, he kicked off the ground, flying up as she was flying down, and in the air, yanked hard on his weapon to send it whipping up at the girl as she moved. Slice or catch, the chain was headed to her and the beauty of it all was there was little to do when sailing in the air. He just had to watch out for another song and, if his chain missed (He wasn't about to kid that his aim was perfect), he'd try again, and again, and again until he really was too exhausted to fight. The time for running away when he felt sore or bothered was over. It was get the job done the first time now. No pushing it off for a later fight. That might have barely flown when he was a Lieutenant, but not when he was a Captain.

Maia frowned as the the boy jump, knowing she wouldn't be kicking him, fore he had moved away. As she started to fall she was thoroughly surprised by the the chain coming from behind her and wrapping tightly around her waist.

Her eyes went wide, she had forgotten about that. The weapon of course had to be pulled back to him and Maia with it.She was jerked forward and quickly stumbling for a few moments trying to stay upright before tumbling to the ground with a thump.

She attempted to roll and stand but the chain was heavy and her movement were considerably slowed. Maia felt panic seize her being. She was a sitting duck with the chain wrapped around her middle. Why was it so heavy? It most certainly did not look it.

She looked up to the boy wide eyed, struggling to get the chain off her and only succeeding in making it tighter somehow. One of her arms was even pinned to her side and she could the chain tightening around flesh, pinching her. That was going to leave a nasty impression.

"You, why I ought to," she started trying to remain brave and a bit cocky.

It was with a deep sense of pride that he watched the senshi get snagged and then fall with a heavy thump. He had been trying that move for a while now in training and he was glad to see it actually used in a battle. It assured him that it could be done and was a very good technique worth repeating. As an added bonus, a snagged senshi was the first step to a stolen starseed. However, with her cocky attitude still unharmed, he doubted she understood this.

Holding tightly to the chain, he yanked it a few more times to make sure it was tight and started moving in, grabbing more and more of the chain as he closed in. "You'll what? I think you have enough fun with your magic, let me have mine with actually hard work and effort." He had a very poor opinion about magic, which to him required no training or talent. You said something and it happened. At least his team had to work with weapons, learn and harness their skills, and relied on their own effort than just shouting something.

This close, he debated shutting her up, but he didn't want to waste time. Before her, he flexed his fingers and narrowed his eye down upon her, before a slow smile crawled on his features.Leaning down, he set his knee on her middle where the chains wrapped about her, and then glanced at her chest, before looking back at her wide eyes. "You got some good attacks on me. Let me repay you back tenfold." He threw his hand into her chest, finding no resistance. By now he knew how ripping a starseed felt, but it was a more difficult search when it came to a senshi.

And then, like a glowing sun, his fingers brushed against her starseed. The energy buzzed on his fingertips like a colony of bumblebees, and then he wrapped his hand completely around it. "Nighty Night."

Even scared of her wits, Maia could not help but to roll her eyes at the comment made about hard work and effort. She could laugh. They boy had simple throw and yanked a chain. Some effort.

"Five points to you for sheer dumb luck," she growled out having a hard time breathing. He had yanked the chain to tight, even around her waist as it was it was hard to get enough air, it really hurt.

She watching him approach and tried to scoot away, but was having a hard time of it. Heavy chains, lack of oxygen, and paralyzing fear she was determined not to show were working against her.

It seemed in slow motion and at the speed of light that she was pinned down and she tried to whip her free arm up to push Wolframite away, but to no avail as he plunged his hand into her chest.

Wide eyed, and fully awake, she let out a pained scream that could probably be heard for miles. Terror and pain were the only sensations she had now. She was going to die. She was going to die!

With that thought Maia lost consciousness.

-Despite the circumstances of the evening so far it appeared ironicly enough that today was Maia's lucky day. Sheer boredom and coincidence would prove to be her saving grace.

Polaris' night had been a quiet one. She'd thought she'd caught wind of a youma once but had lost any scent of it after a maze of alleyways and buildings. The streets were almost unnervingly quiet and empty, she'd flipped her phone open with annoyance, surprised to see the nearby blip of one of her b*****d teammates. Perhaps Maia was as bored as she was? Goodness knew that patrols went quicker with company, even on eventless nights.

The scene she stumbled upon was one that almost made her heart stop.

The chain had just snapped around waist, trapped. The similarities were so striking Polaris could barely breath. Images flashed before her eyes of her own arms being wrapped beyond escape, her body being tugged towards the bone clad Lt because of her own powers. As Wolframite's hand pressed against Maia's chest she saw his hand in hers. The horrible dark coldness... the helplessness. The violation. And now it was happening to Maia.

Sheer adrenaline and fear fueled her, her hands grasping the short pole beside her and yanking upwards with all her might. The post had probably once been part of a decorative fence, the sorts that colorful plastic chains usually dangled from. But now the metal was rusting, rounded on one end and sharp from where it'd ripped from the rest of itself at the ground level. She'd taken the playground equipment's innocence in the same way Wolframite had taken Maia's.

There was still quite a distance between them but it hardly mattered. The pole was hoisted like a javelin in the air, her arm swinging back and releasing with a yell.- "Super magnetic field!"

-The pole straightened it's path as her power took over, the metal guided towards the captian's body. In a just and wonderful world it would strike him in the heart, setting him back dead with one simple shot. But even if it just struck him mildly, or even struck close enough to startle him away from her teammate it would do.-

It was a good thing he wasn't skewered on the spot, but it was probably more thanks to the odd angle of kneeling down and being so close to the senshi that had kept him from winding up staked right then and there by the metal pole. Instead, it had passed between him, just inches from his body, and had sliced his outstretched hand that had been reaching into her body like a magician blindly searching for a rabbit to pull out.

Concentration broken and shocked by the pain, he jerked back, releasing to grip his arm as it started to bleed. His eyes shot to the side were a pole now rested, deeply implanted in the dirt, before looking back to where it came. Standing that was another senshi, and one he met once before.

Polaris had been with him when he ran into a couple of aliens, the same type that had been taken care of by the Negaverse (to which he felt proud of). Their encounter had not been great, as he had known of her magnetic field and got hit with enough cans and garbage lids to know she was not one to mess with. Even with her outfit change, he knew it was her, and he glared in her direction.

They were both in new ranks now, but their hatred for each other and their side was the same.

Looking down, he noticed that the senshi he had chained up was out, and was glad for it. Gripping his chain, he yanked her to her feet and held her up. "You all sure had terrible timing." He shouted, before gripping the girl and reaching down to grab the base of one of the blades. "…but you're a little too late." He pointed the knife to her throat. "Now she'll loose her head and her starseed!" And he went for her neck.
