"See?" Russet protested again, after Riley's objection. Then he pouted. Russet didn't consider himself childish, but many viewed him as such. Xavier thought it was interesting the girl found the urge to create. He thought back to when he just had to make. Xavier, in his youth, carved Ice obsessively, trying to release what he saw... But he never could. The bonds he created, though....
Xavier shook his head. "Russet, you really must watch your words."
"Well, I'm sorry for not being a diplomat."Just because the Thirteen had a reputation for being sagely and wise didn't mean he was.

It was okay really, she had a fury, she just didn't want to admit to it. "It's okay really" She said, just re-voicing what she was just thinking. She was almost done with the church. So she just decided to nimble on the leftover pieces that weren't in what she originally imagined. Then she drank some of her coffee, which had cooled down, and hid her painful face, because it didn't hurt as much as the scolding coffee did.

"That's settled then. Now... Miss-" "Her name's Riley. Last name St. James, or something similar,"offered Russet."-Miss St. James. What brings you here? Other than the pancakes, of course. I haven't seen your face around the Church grounds." Neither Xavier or Russet went to the Church highly religiously. But they did believe in Pancakes. And most of the pious Pancake Followers frequented the Holy House of Pancakes. They were a small, growing, and loyal group.

She didn't want to tell the truth... So she just decided to make up the most believable lie that she could think of. "I've always gone to the church. Just no one see's me because I usually wear all white, in honor of Pancakes herself, of course." She smiled, and made her lie even more believable. She continued to lie, "Why else would I be here?"

Russel didn't believe her. She didn't seem like the smiley type. At least, not to him. Xavier didn't give any hint of what he thought on his face. And, honestly... If she didn't know why someone not of the Pancake faith would come... "There are a multitude of reasons why someone would come here. I am grateful though, that you haven't come to report a death to me. The last time someone did that... Well, let us say that my brother wasn't happy that his gravestone was being carved."
Of course... That was one of the most legit reason to be here, other than the church. He admitted that it was possible someone might've missed her. But she claimed to be dressed in white. And Pancakes was an gleaming bluish ectoplasmic color. But perhaps Riley simply didn't like that color.

Oh no. She thought. Russet doesn't believe me... I am too smiley... just not that often...
"Oh, no, I do realize that, I know why someone not of the Pancake faith would come."
Riley got a little bit scared, what if they found out? What if they already know? Hmph.
"I don't..." She was about to finish the sentence, but then she remembered that they cannot find out about her. So, she just said...
"I don't remember what I was going to say."
But in her mind she finished it, ...like that color, it's like cyan, it's gross.

Was that-- my thought? Repeated? The flash of panic and the hesitation proved it. She was hiding something. But what? After all, we all have a secret to hide."Then you are here to chastise me?" Xavier assumed. If she did know, it was either that or... "Or are you here to ask?"
It wasn't truly against Pancakes, in fact, it wasn't at all against Her. But Xavier felt like it was a betrayal, or some kind. Perhaps to himself.

"Punish you? For what reason would I do that?"
Riley knew that he knew that she was hiding something, but does he know exactly what?

"You said you knew. And clearly you were mistaken," Xavier sighed. If Riley was here to ask, she would've taken the invitation. Now she knew there was something going on. Russet should've warned him. But had the boy's Hunter training dulled? "What game are you playing, girl? You say you know, and yet you don't. It's like you try to mess with our heads... but...only...get...in." Then it hit Russet. And he looked to his elder. He could only hope Xavier could read his eyes. Xavier indeed, did read those eyes, filled with new realization.
"It doesn't matter. Our souls never had privacy in the first place." He might as well say his thoughts aloud now.

Riley looked deep into herself, she knew something was going on.
But, I am playing a game... It's just... I have no clue, I'm just glad they can't read MY mind.
"I'm not playing a game." She said, being as truthful as ever. "Well at least I'm not trying to play one."

Xavier had only questions to ask. "Why come here? Why not stay where you were?" Russet couldn't do anything about this. He felt vulnerable, now that he knew that not even his thoughts were private. Calm down. An Eternal doesn't matter. And it was true. Everyone had one life to live, but the Eternal could remember the past as it was. They were tireless souls, called blessed then cursed. "Or are you truly new to this... trade? But if you were... no one except the desperate will ever seek one of the Thirteen out."

"Stay where I was? Psshh. Please. Why would I do that."
She was weird-ed out, did they get the right idea, or where they just forgetting things, or just thinking of things that weren't true?
"This trade? Why would I seek one of the Thirteen out?"
She was trying to get inside their heads, she could only read minds, not pass through them. She wanted to know everything about them, but all that came up in her head was a 'V'.
'V's' has always been evil to her, to her friends, and even her family, they just are unlucky. She's had 'V's' been all around her everyday, all through her life, just look at it now.
"I'm just... lonely." She said, as a tear ran down her face.

All the Thirteen knew what was like to be alone, truly alone. Even the two paired Eternal. They just let her sit and cry in peace.
Eventually, Russet said, "I'm sorry."Xavier didn't ask anymore. She was a lost child, it seemed. "So you do not know. But maybe I should tell you..." "I'll do it. It might come better from me." Russet looked to Riley. "That is, if you still want to know."

She finished crying and pushed her pancakes away, they had gotten cold, and she loved the cold, yet she didn't want to seem like freak, so she pushed them aside.
"Hmph. I'm not a child, I may be lost, so just tell me."
She sat there contently, waiting for an answer, she was as still as could be, and as silent as she could.

"Alright," Russet started.
'If you read me right, you know about the Eternal. Or the Thirteen, as they're known.
"In all the time of the Thirteen, they've done things, both hated and loved. And in this time, the Eternal Tamer claims his title of Icebonder. He crafts the strongest chains there ever were." Xavier just stared at Russet, daring him to say more. But he didn't.
And it's no surprise. The Eternal are sought for the reason they are Eternal. The Eternal Tamer and Shifter both are patronized by the Her, the Creator of Bonds. All bonds. The Third of the Five. Then came the truth. Both Xavier and Russet regarded Pancakes as a incarnation of the First of the Five. The Lady.
