Yuki stepped back, watching her before glancing about to make sure there wasn't any snakes around. He watched her drink, ears pulling back. What was he going to do? He hadn't imagined this would happen. His first litter, and already he had screwed up as a parent. He had let her get harmed, what an idiot he was!
His head turned as he heard rustling in the distance. Probably another fox, perhaps Ixen? Or maybe Runaiu, she was visiting for a short period of time. Yuki still wanted his kits to meet his other family, save Shai, but he would wait for now. Anyway, they knew aunt Runaiu and uncle Sin.

((Oh. My. God. Don't let Sin find out about this! His beloved brother's child, nearly killed, while his not-as-loved sister's adopted son was technically responsible for her. Merc could never show his face again >_>))
Nitya stopped drinking, even as her body could have probably taken in more. She knew extremes were bad though. After so long with little water and food she'd need to start off with small portions. Unless she wanted a not-so-fun reaction from her body.
She brought her head up, water dripping from her chin, and noticed Papa seemed to be looking towards something. His body was alert and his ears were pricked forward. She hadn't heard anything herself, but with her ears pointed in the wrong direction and the sound of her drinking water in her head, it wouldn't have been hard to miss something.
Feeling her head clear a little after the drink, Nitya's movements became a little easier. She moved over to hide behind one of Papa's front paws, just in case whatever was out there was hostile. Even if the sound was something of no consequence she was sure both herself and Papa were happier that she was in a safe position.

Yuki was just about to move above Nitya when he felt her move behind his paw, his tail hiding her from view as the rustling grew closer. He sat down, Nitya between his front paws and hidden. The bushes before them parted, startling and sending the father into attack mode, until he saw a grey/blue coat and emerald eyes.  Runaiu exited the bushes, having been sent to find the male. Ixen was worried, his mate had left early in the morning and had been gone since, the sun was setting and she had gone to retrieve him. She glared at her brother, shaking her head.
"Yuki, come on. We have to go back, Nitya's gone. She's not coming back. If Mercury finds her he'll bring her back." She mused."No, I found her! See?! She's safe!" Yuki moved his tail to expose Nitya, smiling at his sister.

Oooooh boy. This didn't seem too good. Auntie Runaiu was just as protective of Cousin Merc as Papa was of her. She hoped they wouldn't start fighting over this. She'd feel horrible if her moment of rebellion caused disorder in the family.
She lifted up her head and just smiled at her Auntie, not wanting to talk if she could help it. At least not until Papa was somewhere else.

Runaiu smiled back at Nitya, but frowned in seconds. "You caused us a lot of trouble." She mused, shaking her head. "Running away from Mercury like that..."
"Mercury should have been keeping a closer eye on her." Yuki countered with. He watched as Runaiu tilted her head, eyes narrowing.
"Are you saying it's Mercury's fault?" She questioned, tail twitching. "My son is responsible!" She mused, shaking her head. Her eyes bore into Yuki's, but the father merely stared right back. Normally he'd back down, but this was his child they were arguing about. "Besides, she's fine now."
"Fine?! Have you seen her?!"

Nitya shrank a little closer to the ground. "'S not Merc's fault," she mumbled yet again, doing her best to defend her cousin. Really, she didn't get why Papa kept blaming Cousin Merc for something he couldn't have prevented. Once she started running, she was gone! Did he think it was his fault for some reason? That made no sense to Nitya either. Really, it was her fault for running, then just as much her fault for thinking she could take on a wild pig rather than turn and run away.

Runaiu heard her niece speak, grunting at Yuki. "See, even she says its not!" The female lashed out with, glaring at her brother. Her brother rolled his eyes, hissing between his teeth.
"Of course you'd say that, Mercury is perfect in your eyes!" He countered with. Runaiu shook her head, jerking her head to the side in annoyance.
"You'd know all about that, you seem to think your kids are perfect as well. Do you remember when Tenma knocked me over? We all think our kids are perfect angels." She mewled back, shaking her head. That caught Yuki off guard, he tilted his head and sighed in agreement, rolling his eyes once more. They needed to get Nitya home and stop fighting.
"I'm going to carry her home. Go get the others and wake them." He mused. By the others he meant the kits. Runaiu nodded, padding off. Yuki turned to his daughter, smiling softly. "It'll be okay."

Nitya nodded, crawling out from under Papa since it seemed Auntie Runaiu was the only other one around. "Jus' don' fight." It was her biggest fear that all this was going to come back and cause heaps of trouble. It would serve her right she supposed, getting the entire family mad at each other cause she had to be stubborn. She waited for Papa to pick her up.

Yuki lowered his body, knowing she was to old to be carried by the neck anymore. He would take the short way home, possibly bump into Sin if he was unlucky. Oh, he loved his brother, but he knew Sin would flip out if he saw the scar on Nitya's neck and personally make it a goal to find the attacker and rip it to shreds.
Runaiu had left to awaken and warn the kits, probably to not mention the scar on Nitya's neck until she was ready to talk about it, then again, Runaiu understood Nitya's personality, it seemed to resemble Runaiu's a lot, except she wasn't insecure like Runaiu.
His eyes watched the area, hearing Runaiu pad off in the distance.

Nitya climbed on Papa's back, just over his neck. This way was easier to hold on in case he had to run or make sudden starts or stop. Plus this was an excellent vantage point for ear nipping.
((God, it would have been horrible if he'd tried to lift her by her neck scruff. It would have pulled the skin and tore her wound open all over again.))

((Yuki's a smart papa. =3 ))
Yuki tested her balance, softly moving his body. When he felt she was secure enough he began to move. He was careful to avoid roots, tripping would be bad. Softly, he wondered what would happen if he bumped into Sin, maybe Nitya's attacker did need a lesson! Though, he mentally (because physically doing so would be a bad idea) shook the thoughts aside. He knew Sin's nature, if you thought about him he'd slip out of nowhere and appear.

((Go for it. lol Nothing for Sin to kill anyway, Faiza killed that pig as dead as she could make it. Ate it while she watched over Nitya, even gave small bits to her when her wound started closing. Piggy is nothing more than poo now XD ))
Though Nitya always tried to seem grown-up and mature, and distance herself from her parents to prepare then for that inevitable day when she would wander away on her own as an adult, she couldn't help but snuggle into Papa's mane of fur. She suspected that was why all foxes had such thick coats around their heads. Well, besides for protecting against bites and stuff. It was nice and warm, and her Papa always smelled good. Safe.

Yuki had been told before he smelled like lavender, he wondered if any of the kits would acquire his scent. Faintly he knew Tenma had it, which was unlucky for him because males that had his scent often were mocked. He smiled softly as his normally independent daughter snuggled into him, tail flicking. He repressed a laugh, merely enjoying the moment. Until he heard rustling.  Sin's tribe was going to be disband, Sin had already decided this. He had been looking for Yuki, knowing his brother needed comfort after losing one of his first borns. He had no sense of smell, but he had seen Runaiu earlier. No, he was not a fan of Run, but he learned to tolerate her for Yuki's sake.
He heard rustling, approaching the sound with little hesitation. He was met with the sight of Yuki and a certain furball on his neck.
"Nitya? Yuki?" Oh, so she had been found.

((I actually think lavender is a good smell for guys, flower-wise. It's not a sweet smell, it's kinda strong and bold :3))
Though her face was buried against the back of Papa's head, other scents could still reach Nitya's nose. For the most part it was clear, forest air. Another scent began to trickle through, and this one was also familiar. She didn't bother to raise her head, pretty sure that keeping this new feature on her neck a secret from her Uncle Sin for as long as possible would be the best move. Silently she prayed that Cousin Merc would stay faaaaar away for a good amount of time.

((I thought so too! But Yuki isn't very nice to himself. >.< Can I add Kithara and Tenma, but they'd be kits?))
Yuki wagged his tail, smirking at his brother. "I found her." He mused, smirking at him. He knew Sin was probably wondering where the hell Mercury was so he could give him a few got scratches on the side of his face for losing his baby niece. But no, no matter how much Yuki wanted to kill Mercury he wouldn't let anyone harm him.
"Weren't you with the kits?" Ixen was off on some sort of adventure for a little, so Sin was watching the kits with Runaiu. Sin nodded, however eyed Nitya before responding.
"I'm happy she's safe." He sincerely said. He treated Yuki's kits as if they were his own. Yuki was precious to him, and so was Ixen. Which meant their kits were also precious. Sin flicked his tail, nodding once more.
"Yes, I was just teaching them how to fight. Nitya, you're behind on that. I'll have to show you some moves later." Sin often stole Yuki's kits to teach them to fight, however Kithara and Yavie rarely joined.
