"For comparison reasons. The girls locker rooms might be gross, too, but they could be substantially less gross then the boys. But I won't know unless I see them!"
Also, she wanted to see if any one tall, dark, and hunky happened to be in the locker rooms. There was a severe lack of tall, dark, and hunky around.
Sometimes Ask was just too difficult. But she allowed herself to be lead off anyway.
"Did you know I've met almost all your cousins, now, Ask? Willows my roommate so I know four of them. I just need to meet the oldest one. We can practically be family."

Ask grinned. "Edmund is pretty quiet and a lot more... normal I guess then the other four. He likes gardening. And as for the boy's locker rooms, girls aren't allowed in. And the door's locked when it's not in use anyway." He said the last bit with a small look that might, just might be smug and sneaky, as though that door may be locked but he had a way in. "But anyway, this is the cafeteria, it's the dregs of breakfast right now."

Isolde peered into the cafeteria. It did not look especially promising, used to Pacifism's five star cooking as she was.
"How do the cooks know what to make with so many people coming to eat?"

"No, they don't, but you could make your own in the morning out of bacon and toast. They make several set things that we have to choose from." Ask explained in as few words as possible. The food was generally tolerable, at least he thought so. Then he led her towards the gym.

Isolde was having a bit of trouble understanding what Ask meant.
"You mean like there's a limited menu, so people don't have a lot of choices? And then you just choose from the menu?"
Cause Ask couldn't mean that people just . . . walked up to food that sat out for who knows how long and picked through it. That couldn't be right- could it?
Isolde hoped the gymnasium would be less unsettling.

"They have different food to choose from on different days of the week. But they prepare the meals before the set time that the meal starts and then we pick what we want." He covered and amused glance at Isolde. She'd have a lot to get used to here at the school.

Isolde was still privately horrified and was sure that was unhealthy. But she would put a good face on it; after all, everyone else ate it, why shouldn't she?
Ugh, people might touch the food that she ate. Gross.
"I guess it works. . . so is this the gym?"

"Yes, this is the gym. Over there is the girls' locker rooms, and the boys' is behind this door." Ask pointed to the various doors. "And yeah I could get you into the boys room but there's nothing really to see."

"I have one assigned, but he hasn't moved in yet. So I'm by myself. I look forward to River moving in though." He was pleased that he was rooming with someone that he knew. "I didn't know you were rooming with Willow." He commented.

Isolde shook her head. "Yes you did! I just said that. That's how I know everyone but Edmund."
Isolde glanced around.
"What else is around to see? Isn't there supposed to be a lake or something?

"Oh, yeah." Ask facepalmed. "I did know that. It just slipped my mind a bit. There is a lake. 'The Sparkling Lake' or something. We can go down to see it if you like."

"I want to see EVERYTHING," Isolde said. "Anything and everything. And I want to show you my dorm room and you can help me find where Kei's is and there's some kind of maze or something. I heard one of the older students mention it. I want to see it all."

"Well I can show you the lake. But I've never heard of a maze." He actually looked surprised about it. "So we either need to find someone who does know, or look for it ourselves."

She seized Ask's hand and started tugging him back toward the main hall. "Kei would love to see us. Come on! Come on!"
