Her face, indeed, said it all, and Xavier was left puzzled. What did he do ?
And it was then that this apparently evolved into a singing lesson. He made a face. It wasn't a frown, nor was it anything or the short. It was an hilarious expression of complete cluelessness. If he'd been near his computer, this would have been the perfect cue to pull out the 'I have no idea what you're talking about, so there's a bunny with pancakes on it's head' macro.
And he tried. He didn't quite get it, but it was better than before, thankfully to Lily's sense of hearing.

Lily saw that Xavier did not quite understand what she was talking about but the concept of singing from ones diaphragm wasn't always the easiest to grasp.
"That was better," she said smiling. It definitely was easier or her precious and rather sensitive ears, "but you do not quite get it, do you?"
Lily took his hands and placed the on her diaphragm like she had had her hands before. She breathed in deeply so he could feel it. It was far easier to feel than to see. She was so into her lesson that she did not even noticed the situation could be an awkward one.
Lily sang a line from twinkle twinkle litte start, than took Xavier's hands one more and position on his own diaphragm. "Try again, breathe first then sing, same as I did."
She stood back, "do not be discouraged if it doesn't works, sometime it takes practice."

Unfortunately for her, Xavier did notice the awkwardness of this current situation, but he kept quiet. And very, very, very still.
Very still. Seriously.
That was a little odd, and that was even without all the hand-on-chest fiasco. Mostly, he was paying attention so that she wouldn't do that again. Seriously. Akkkkkkward.
And he tried again. This time, he did get it mostly right, until the last moment - not enough air left him in a fit of coughing. "Damn." He muttered in between coughs. "You do that whenever you sing ?!" Okay, now he was even more impressed. That wasn't easy on him at all.

Lily smiled brightly and nodded at his question. "Yes, if you do not breath correctly you will tire easily and even strain you voice because you start singing in you throat."
Lily grabbed up the microphone and moved around Xavier to take the stage, ready for another round of singing. "You did great by the way. I bet you wil get in no time with a little practice. Trust me when I say it is not hard are all when you get use to it. You just do it," she said as though she once had too, but she hadn't. It was Rose who had showed her as little toddler. Lily had been a natural, singing just came to her with such ease.
She frowned when she noticed the radio was playing commerials and wondered if she could hook up her ipod to it. She looked to Xavier, "Does it have a way to connect an ipod to it?"

"If you say so..." Augh. Auuugh. The rest of his cola can was downed in an instant, trying to make the soreness of his throat go away.
"There should be." He got up from his chair to check the stereo. "Ah, the cable must be over there..." And then he wandered to the living room again.
Apparently, the living room was the Room Where Everything Ever Was.
He came back with said cable, and handed it over to her. "You know how it works ?" She probably did, but better make sure.

When Xavier said there should be a way to hook up an ipod Lily went over to her bag and pulled out her ipod. It was a 64 GB ipod touch, but unlike most it did not have a ton of application and the like. Instead it had tons of music on it, not the full 64 GB, not by any stretch of the imagination, but a wide range of songs Lily really enjoyed.
The cable was handed to her and the question was posed as to whether she knew how it work, but instead of answering she simply went over and hook it up. Once it was set up Lily grabbed up the mircophone once more then scrolled through her music to find a song she wanted to see.
She chose Kris Allen's 'Live Like Your Dying.'
The music started and of course Lily was in her element once more.
"Sometimes we fall down, can't get back up We're hiding behind skin that's too tough How come we don't say I love you enough? 'Til it's to late, it's not too late
Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come And we could make a feast from these crumbs And we're all staring down the barrel of a gun So if your life flashed before you, what would you wish you would've done?
Yeah, we gotta start lookin' at the hands of the time we've been given If this is all we got, then we gotta start thinkin' If every second counts on a clock that's tickin' Gotta live like we're dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to Turn it all around or to throw it all away We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say Gotta live like we're dying
And if your plane fell out of the skies Who would you call with your last goodbye? Should be so careful who we left out of our lives And when we long for absolution, there will be no one on the line
Yeah, we gotta start lookin' at the hands of the time we've been given If this is all we got, then we gotta start thinkin' If every second counts on a clock that's tickin' Gotta live like we're dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to Turn it all around or to throw it all away We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say Gotta live like we're dying, oh, like we're dying, oh, like we're dying Like we're dying, oh, like we're dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to Turn it all around or to throw it all away We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say Gotta live like we're dying
You never know a good thing 'til it's gone You never see a crash 'til it's head on Why do we think we're right when we're dead wrong? You never know a good thing 'til it's gone
Yeah, gotta start lookin' at the hands of the time we've been given If this is all we got, then we gotta start thinkin' If every second counts on a clock that's tickin' Gotta live like we're dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to Turn it all around or to throw it all away We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say Gotta live like we're dying, oh, like we're dying, oh, like we're dying Like we're dying, oh, like we're dying
We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to Turn it all around or to throw it all away We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say Gotta live like we're dying."
She grinned feeling happy when she finished, before holding the microphone out to Xavier. "One more go, before your neighbors start to come home?"

"That was nice !" He had to find this song. He could look it up later.
Though, on the latter point... "I dunno, my throat hurts." Yes, now he was sensitive about his singing. Good job, Lily. "You can sing one last song if you want ?

Lily frowned slightly and plopped down on the couch next to Xavier. "I do not believe you," she said grinning before wiggling the microphone in his face.
"Come on, please, just one more song," she said smiling wondering if she would need to bribe the boy and wondering just what exactly she could give. Then she grinned even wider, knowing exactly what she could offer. He was a DJ and she had lots of music, all kinds.
"Practice makes perfect you know," she said in a matter of fact tone, "not only that, if you sing I will give you a flash drive with all my music. I have lots, instrumental, foreign, even my brother playing the piano randomly sometime."
Lily wondered if it would work, but just continued to hold out the microphone to Xavier.

Oh god, oh god. Oh god.
This was the ultimate bribe. Xavier wibbled. This was a complete unfair thing !
"...Fine." He muttered, taking the microphone from her, and then the ipod, scrolling though the songs quickly before making up his mind. He'd thought about going right for the Gaga as retribution, but decided not to break her mind in two.
"I stumble through the wreckage Rusted from the rain There's nothing left to salvage No one left to blame Among the broken mirrors I don't look the same I'm rusted from the rain I'm rusted from the rain
Dissect me until my blood runs down into the drain My bitter heart is pumping oil into my veins I'm nothing but a tin man, don't feel any pain I don't feel any pain, I don't feel any pain I'm rusted from the rain
Go on crush me like a flower, rusted from the rain Come on, strip me of my power, beat me with your chains And if I'm the king of cowards, you're the queen of pain I'm rusted from the rain, I'm rusted from the rain
You hung me like a picture, now I'm just a frame I used to be your lap dog, now I'm just a stray Shackled in a graveyard, left here to decay Left here to decay, left here to decay
I'm rusted from the rain
Go on crush me like a flower, rusted from the rain Come on, strip me of my power, beat me with your chains And if I'm the king of cowards, you're the queen of pain I'm rusted from the rain, I'm rusted from the rain
I'm rusted from the rain
Go on crush me like a flower, rusted from the rain Come on, strip me of my power, beat me with your chains And if I'm the king of cowards, you're the queen of pain I'm rusted from the rain, I'm rusted from the rain
Go on crush me like a flower, rusted from the rain Come on, strip me of my power, beat me with your chains And if I'm the king of cowards, you're the queen of pain I'm rusted from the rain, I'm rusted from the rain The sun will shine again, I'm rusted from the rain I'm rusted from the rain, the sun will shine again
I'm Rusted from the rain"
It was a little better, but he still got it wrong there and there. At least he'd been listening, right ?

Lily did not frown this time. She was amused that Xavier had given into her bribe. It was highly amusing and she could not be upset by the sound. She liked the song and it definitely sounded better than the first time.
Where Xavier was finished she clapped, "Bravo, bravo," she said grinning. "I think you may just become my best pupil yet!"
Lily jumped up and went over to her satchel and picked it up off the ground before coming back over to Xavier. She sat down and pulled out her laptop, opening it and turning it on. She watched it load up silently and when it was done she frowned. Her ballet class was in 25 minutes and she would need most of that time to get there.
Lily jumped up again pulling a flash drive out of the satchel and handing it to him. "I have to be to ballet practice in 25 minutes and I do not have my clothes. I have to go, but my music is on my laptop and that flash drive is empty. It should have more that enough space," she said going over to get her ipod and putting it away in her satchel.
She turned to Xavier, "Could you bring my laptop with you to the meeting? I can't wait. I think I might be late as it is."
With that she headed for the door, grinning even though she would most likely be late. She had a really fun time. "See you Saturday," she said with her hand on the door knob. She would really rather not be late, if she could help it.

"And I think you're overreacting." He rolled his eyes, but... he was grinning, at the same time.
Xavier was a little taken aback by that. She was willing to leave all that here ? And, in reality, they barely knew each other. But, in a way, it felt differently. This was confusing, even for him.
"Ill do that." He nodded, smiling. "See you at the meeting."
