Tess had flown off but not before she heard Lucien's question. She gave him a small but apologetic smile, as if promising him she'd anything and every he'll ask once she retrieved the stone ghoul. Focusing her attention back to the other student, she canted her head. "Oh?" The sound was high-pitched, curious, if a bit confused. What did the other ghoul mean she couldn't fly?
Then it dawned on her. "Oh." It sounded moderate, matter-of-fact even.
Judging from the body language of the other ghoul, it also dawned on Tess just how insensitive she must have sounded. "Oooooh," she said this in a low, and audibly mortified voice. "I, I'm so sorry, I-I didn't mean to, I didn't realize that, I'M SO SORRY!" her hands grasped her cheeks in consternation while her wings continued to beat wildly, rising higher and higher until the vampire noticed she was now eye-level to the other ghoul. "I'm not showing off! I'm sorry!" she squeaked, "Stones aren't useless! You aren't useless!" she added rapidly.
Tess did not deal well with embarrassment. Or making a complete fool of herself. Oh Jack, and she's supposed to be the manager here?

Morton had turned his head to watch both Tess and the other gargoyle, tilting his head just a notch as the undead girl started squeaking, betraying just how embarrassed she felt, "Hmmmm..." he made a slight motion to both Julian and Coralie, as if to note that he'd be right back, and that done, he padded over to where the other two girls were.
He hadn't heard what most of the conversation had been about (he'd only caught a few of of Tess' squealed apologies), but from body language and the fact the gargoyle had chosen to previously run away, he had an inkling of a notion of what the problem at hand might be. Sticking his hands into his pockets, he approached the two girls, and only opened his mouth when he was a close enough distance to be heard without shouting, "Think there's any way you could give her some sort of honorary position on the team? Who knows, she might grow into her wings. I don't think normal laws apply to Halloween town - after all... I can fly. Maybe she just needs time," or maybe not; he honestly had no idea, but he saw no problem with having just a little bit of faith.
Besides, this girl was the only other Gargoyle he'd seen within school grounds, and he felt a nagging sense of... something that simply demanded he at least try to help out, "No one's useless."

Tess lit up like a Jack-o-Lantern at Morton's arrival. Yay! A distraction! Someone to buffer the attention towards! While the gargoyle's suggestion of an honorary position on the team sounded good, a part of Tess had wanted the club to be all about the thrill of flying, wings or no, and having a member incapable of flight seemed to contradict that desire. But on the other hand, Tess didn't want to come off as incredibly rude either.
"That sounds great!" she exclaimed a little too loudly, she was still riding the high of making a complete idiot of herself. "I could run that idea by the Captain!" She turned towards the stone angel to gauge her interest, "Would you be receptive to that, miss, erm, what's your name?" Tess nervously chewed on her lower lip at how she'd been blathering on without even bothering to find out the other ghoul's name.

Igneous' eyes widened at the sight of the boil that approached. Was it possible? Was he also made of stone? She had not met another being made of stone before and the thought thrilled her.
"It's not necessary. Really. I was here to practice pumpkin toss - didn't know you were going to be flying!" She waved a hand towards the pile of pumpkins as if to prove her innocence of trespassing.
"We did try to have me fly not long after I awoke... it didn't exactly turn out very well. Apparently whatever magic brought me to life didn't gift me with flight. I just have to find other things to do around campus."

"Hey Julian, glad to see you aboard," Coralie gave him a casual a pat on the back, not seeming to care whether or not he appreciated the gesture. She raised her brows at Morton and just smile, "It just means we both have good taste." After all, there wasn't a better activity she could think of. Those that couldn't fly were really missing out.
"Mmm?" She turned a bit, watching Tess and the other girl with curiosity. As she heard bits of the conversation from a distance, and as Morton joined in, her gaze became a bit critical. So the girl couldn't fly, hu? After a bit she went over the join them and added in, "We still need a Uniform Coordination, if you're interested in something like that. You certainly don't need to fly for that position, after all. And I'm sure we could think of something else, like Morton said, if you wanted us to." She had to admit, she felt really bad for her...born with wings she couldn't use. Must have been terribly frustrating.

Carthusia was interested to say the least. Synchronized flying? Now that sounded like it was right up her alley! Plus, she'd never met any of these individuals before. Stepping out onto the field with a map in her hand, she headed towards the sign-up area to meet everyone. This school required club activity and she didn't have one yet. Mandatory meant you had to! Furrowing her brow, the demoness picked up one of the clipboards while everyone else was talking and filled out her information. Her wings were certainly big enough to conduct flight, but she would need a great deal of practice to be any good with it.
Ooh, you can sign up for a club position as well! Why not? If I can sew a costume, I can make a uniform, I bet. Shouldn't be too hard, right? Besides, they'd appreciate it if I could provide such a service.
Student's Name: Carthusia (but call me Carry) Race/Specie: Demon/Avarice (Pride) Year: First Applying for a position?: Uniform Coordinator Any other clubs/obligations?: None yet. Is your diet different from most students'?: Not at all.
Played by: Lucifer Force Activity level: I'm around every day and you're free to contact me via PM or IM (Syriune).
Setting down the clipboard, Carthusia smiled. "There. I hope I can be of service to you."
