"Mmmmmmm." Eclipse's eyes glitter -- as darkness falls in the swamp, more and more of the pink glow that his eyes produce becomes visible, until two bobbing pink fireflies dart in front of Peeper. "Then my best advice to you becomes this: keep doing what you're doing. It seems to be working beyond anything I can --"
Something vaguely owlcat shaped drops like a stone out of the tree atop Eclipse and lands on his back -- daintily licks a paw -- and then sits as if it has belonged there since time immemorial. Eclipse's eyes, when they narrow from shock to something like irritation, simply dart back to Peeper. "--anything I can do."

Peeper's ears flick back against his head at the dropping of the owlcat. Okay. Clearly someone's crazy here, and Peeper's pretty sure it's not him. He puts the seaweed down again carefully and licks the corners of his mouth. "Huh. Okay." Has he asked for advice? Well, he'll take it anyway. It can't hurt at this point, even if Eclipse seems kind of weird. "I have to go that way now." It's off to the side, not the direction where the glowing pink fireflies are really headed in.

"Good luck." It seems defeated -- he doesn't seem to be mentioning the owlcat, understandably a little tired of fighting it. And the owlcat itself has curled up on his back, fluffy nose over its face, and is presumably asleep. "I hope things work out for the pair of you."

"Um." Peeper tries to find a way to explain and just gives up. "I hope it works out for um. You and uh. That laughing thing, too, huh?" He hopes that Eclipse manages to lose it, anyway. Maybe all his gloom and doom is from the owlcat. "Maybe I'll see you around." He sounds more hopeful about that, scooping the seaweed back up in his mouth again and making a pinched face at the awful salty taste of it. "Let you know how stuff's going, and all."
He starts off in the direction he'd indicated before with a wave of his tail at Eclipse-- and one last round of chittering at the owlcat by the mongoose on his back.
