Sailor Iris was not a heartless soul. She watched as this young man went from proud to utterly distraught in a few moments. Yet, she stood there, tall, with a rainbow still in her hand. The Senshi of Rainbows had held back. She could have easily cut his arm off by letting the Slicer wrap about the limb. Instead, she used it as a whip, only lashing him with the intense colored light.
She had spared him in some senses. However, she didn't want to have to ditch another dead body someplace in the city. Not again. She was not a murderer.
Yet, as he ran, the senshi couldn't help but feel the need to run after him. "Get yer a** back 'ere!" However, her shouts stopped right there as he jumped off of the building. She stopped right there at the edge, pulling herself back so she wouldn't fall down. Yet, her eyes had seen the sights below. The city lights that were glowing at the street. They looked so tiny.
"Fffffff*ck!!" Taking several steps back, she stopped and took in several breaths.
He had gotten away.
"Damn."

Crimson eyes remained widened in pure disbelief. Had he really been given this strange role as an instrument for the Negaverse? Was this all some kind of mental disillusionment? What he had really been doing up until the moment he encountered the Senshi of Rainbows on the rooftop? What was the difference between the two sides? Why had he really been chosen to work for the Negaverse? There were so many questions that raced through his scattered mind as he made his way back to the lavish apartment his family had provided. As he moved through the rooftops of Destiny City, he kept one arm over his wound at all times. The increased movement had kept the blood from clotting and his chest would surely be stained red. A mark that would become more than a brutal reminder of his failure. No, this mark would serve as the tangible proof that he could no longer step in and out of his body and allow the creation of an altered reality. Whatever game he had created to serve as Esperite's world had ended. Checkmate. Game over. No trophy for you.
Adrenaline was starting to leave his system. He could feel it tearing away from him. The body it left behind was exhausted, beaten and marked by the earlier events of the night. What had started out as another night filled with starseeds, turned into a grade A mind ********. It was official now, he could no longer play pretend. The blind eye could not be turned to this inexplicable behavior of his. There had never been a broken mirror, no on and off switch. Teddy and Esperite had been the same person all along. Separation was the name of the ruse that he used to act out his darker intent. His journey so far had been paved by starseeds. These tiny rocks were the key. A key to a door that should have never been opened, but it was too late for regret. Teddy had opened that door the moment he switched from being an ordinary trust fund brat to a cold, arrogant creature who preyed on the souls of others.
His feet finally stopped carrying him from one building to the next. For a few seconds, he stood frozen in place. Mind and body trying to make sense of this darker path. However, as he finally looked around to gain his bearings, he noticed he was on the roof of his apartment building. A deep sigh of relief swept through his body. Phasing into Teddy, he quietly made his way to his apartment. Now the wound could be cleaned and dressed. The safety of his own bed awaited him. Small rituals and reassurances would be the only thing holding the teal haired boy together after tonight.
