I would like to nominate myself to be a mod. I think that I have done a pretty good job stepping up when LPS asked us mods to do something and I don't think I've ever done any of the mod abuse kinda stuff.

Given that I'm interested and in the running, I'd prefer not to nominate anyone at the moment, so as not to risk coming off as someone with favorites; that'd be unfair to anyone I picked. (Plus Owwin doesn't want to mod so whatever YOU JERK)
Oh yeah, second post has been updated with people who have expressed interests and have nominations. Feel free to lemme know if I missed someone.

I think we may need to clarify that you don't need to be a moderator to run a mafia, too. I still plan on running one with Owwin regardless of whether or not he's a mod.

Allegro -token vote for LPS even though the RUNS the thing so she has to be a mod(Hobo) Well given the previous discussion and the fact that she in the op said that she needs to be voted on as well....yeah.
So I'll vote for LPS too.
Also, Zach and I were talking and we think it might be best that who ever doesn't make the thread for a mafia and is the co-mod should be an actual mod because otherwise they can't edit the posts on the first page. Which isn't a huge deal but I know can be annoying.

My only question, Dess, is, what happens to the guild if LPS ISN'T a mod? Do we transfer control to the mule and each have access to the password? Does one of us get it?

I am personally not all for her giving it up. But she still seems to be expressing interest in doing so. I'm not the one who said we should vote on whether or not she gets to be a mod. LPS said she needed to be voted on as well. I think both of those options have their merits. If we did the second then we could vote like we are doing now but I think we should do the first.

razz I know you're not the one who said all that stuff, I'm just positing out loud so we can all think it through.
I'm kinda wary on the first one, honestly. I feel like since we're all pretty close, the password would eventually wind up getting to other people. Which could prove nasty.

I dunno, I feel like if we gave leadership over to another member then there might be changes. Big ones. Like what if after all this voting and what not we get a new guild leader and they are like "Nope, no modship for you." It would be unfair but there would be nothing any of us could do.
I think that if LPS doesn't want to run the guild and we don't want to let the Mafia Maniac run it then LPS should keep Captain-ship, and someone can take over Vice-Captain. I think the Vice can do just about everything the Captain can do except probably change leadership. Another guild I am in has an inactive Captain but the Vice runs it. That way if LPS wanted to be Captain again she wouldn't have to worry about transferring leader ship.

Yeah, but the Vice can do just as much damage to the community as the Captain, if the Captain isn't around to hold them in check. Y'know?
Ideally, if we decide on a new Cap, it'd be someone who would try to put things to a vote as much as possible, or at the very least, take input.

But LPS is still going to be around.
I'm just worried that whoever gets picked will be tyrannical or something. Which I don't think any of us would but what if? There aren't usually too many issues that require voting. There is this, but what else?

Oh I do think those are input requiring things, or possibly voting, but we have always handled at least the banning thing with discussing it.
