Akari never really felt a calling when she was younger. Or if she had, it was towards her family. Keeping Yunai close to her heart always, and making sure to never lose touch with any of their parents. Along the way they had met many different types of Soquili. Akari looked up towards the sky, sad that she could only see a few stars peeking in through the twisted branches. Her sister planned on eventually starting a family of 'their own'. It was bound to happen anytime soon, but the thought brought up a weird feeling in her stomach. Having foals of her own one day would be a dream. Though, like every other creature, they'd grow up and someday, leave- and make a family of their own. Akari shook her head, looking back towards the path. That was a very long ways off! "That's respectable," Akari smiled. In the little time that they had been walking together, she felt more at ease around Lutra. He helped reassure her that this wasn't the first time that he'd done something like this, so nothing must have gone wrong before? "Have you ever considered something else in life?" She asked, eager to keep their conversation going. Even though he mentioned that they would be nearing the exit of the forest soon, she knew that talking would keep her nerves down.

"Well... There are other things that interest me, but nothing I enjoy the more then this truthfully. Its a feeling of being needed, that's also nice. Being able to help others." He smiled at her, noting she had gone into some deep thought. "Do you know what you'd like to do with your life?" She was older enough to know what she might like to do.
He didn't want to seem pushy. But he was growing more curious about the mare.

She felt a pang of jealousy towards him. He knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, yet she was still indecisive. Akari longed to have passion for something direct in her life. "I haven't decided yet," She returned his smile, the wings at her sides flexing as the trees spaced out. "But maybe thats it? I try not to worry. Sister has found her place, and I will find mine." Her smile grew. That was it.

Lutra blinked at her and smiled. "You're still young. No need to rush." He nodded at her. She was content with waiting until it found her. And that was how his life's work found him. Some just find it earlier then others.
"Oh be careful up here. The path will narrow for a small foot bridge over a river." He glanced at her. Normally he would say Ladies first, but he needed to light the bridge for her so he took the lead. And turned back part way through so that his lanterns light would shine for her.

"Thanks for the heads up!" She chirped, feeling more comfortable around him. Even though she was just talking at him, he had helped her figure something out that had been bothering her for awhile. Akari hesitated before stepping out onto the small bridge. It was difficult to balance with her bigger body type. Her hooves were wider than the average Soquili, but she trusted her wings to catch her if anything went wrong. "H-how far do we have to go" She stuttered out, rethinking her choice to speak. This was going to take the majority of her concentration.

Lutra had already started to walk over the bridge, but he stopped make sure she was getting enough light. This bridge was tricky at night. She would slowly walk letting her follow the light. "it's not very long at all. I'm already at the end." He said, as he stepped off, keeping his head to the side so that all the lantern was on her now. The lantern bounced off her, giving her a bit of a green tint, but regardless of that, Lutra found himself staring at her. Something he normally wouldn't have done.

Akari squinted towards the light, her eyes making out Lutra's dark figure just beyond the green. He was looking back at her, and from his position, she knew that he had reached the other side. His words caused her to sigh in relief, just a few steps more and she'd be on the other side. Her hooves found solid ground again, and with a jump, she was off of the bridge. "I would prefer not to do that again," She commented, smiling sheepishly towards him.

Lutra smiled at her, when she reached the other side. "Well it's not so bad once you've seen it in the day." He gave a light chuckle and then turned to walk... Just a few steps from the horses that they could see the fires from the village. "Ah... Looks like we're just about there." It seemed all to short. His time with the mare... But why was he thinking that...? He never did with others...
