Vivi grinned bright and shining at the both of them, this was splendid! No one ever talked to her when her parents were hovering around like nervous nellies! "That's alright Istas darling, though I have to admit that I think Lulu is the cutest name I have ever come across. It fits you to a 'T'!"

Finished with her pink paint, she ditched it for a vibrant teal and set to work adding large, medium, and small polk-a-dots all over the place. Humming lightly as she did so, she glanced up at Bodhi and laughed. "Bodhi," she sung lightly. "I like it! Most may call you Bo but I think your full name makes you sound exotic! Is that wrong of me?" Paint-paint-painting away she shrugged. "Oh I don't care, it's marvelous!"

Pushing the teal paint away Genevieve pushed stray strands of honey and pink hair out of her face. "Headshots, like, all professional and all? Oooh that would be the best thing ever! If you're into sweets I can bring you homemade cupcakes in return!"

Sometime in between chatting up Vivi and grinning at Istas, Bo was struck by his idea. He didn't sketch anything out. He just suddenly started to smear white paint onto the bright orange of his pumpkin, drawing it upward in a slanted triangle. He would glance back down to it every so often, dabbing a little blue here and a little cream there. A light smile stayed plastered on his lips while he worked.

The others seemed to be fast at work too. It was a nice environment, just the three of them chatting and painting. "Hello, Istas-Lulu," he said with a smile.

His eyes flickered back to Vivi. "My name is Indian, actually. Well, it was supposed to be. It is a short version of a longer name. My mom is into that." His mother was into a lot of spiritual things, regardless of the religion or country. She could be a little all over the place.

Bo brought his face close to the pumpkin and traced a thin blue line in a rising arch. "I am Michelangelo," he said. "You can be my Mona Lisa." It would appear that Bo had never taken any art history classes.

His pumpkin, however, was shaping up quite nicely. He glanced over to Istas. "What are you working on, small fry?" Apparently that was her new nickname.

As the other two were busy honing in on their own pumpkin art Genevieve was putting the final touches on her own Pièce de résistance with gusto, purple paint, and massive amounts of gold glitter. Sighing as she put on the final touches she wanted to prance her piece about and crow about it's magnificence. She did neither as she chose to be polite enough to Lulu and Bodhi and not interrupt what they were doing. "I just knew it was exotic! Your mother sounds like she must be almost as interesting as you are! My mother and daddy named me after my Great-Great Grandmother Genevieve Marie. We're from France. Well- My grandparents are from France. I'm from here! What about the two of you?"

Trying her best not to wiggle with excitement, she tapped her fingers lightly as they continued to chat. The judging would be soon and as much as she adored those competing with her, she knew she was going to win.

Bo didn't immediately respond to Vivi. He was too busy putting the final touches on his own pumpkin. Cracking a Sharpie open, he took a whiff at its tip and then began to outline his pumpkin. There was an unusual amount of concentration on his face. Bo sat back after a moment and examined his work.

Only then did he get around to answering Vivi. "My parents are from here, actually. They met here, and then I lived in Florida for awhile. Now I'm back." He popped the cap on the Sharpie and set it on the table.

His pumpkin was done, and he was happy with it. So he spun it around to show the girls and said, "What do you all think?"

Istas paused, "Indian? Like Native American or Indian from across the sea?" She asked curiously, she should've but she was curious.

She had finished the paint having used a black sparkle one too. "I'm making... a snow rabbit." She said, "My name means snow rabbit after all.." She said with a smile.

She blinked when she saw his unicorn pumpkin as she was cutting foam with child safe cutting sisores. It took her just a bit longer than the other two to finish and glue the pieces on but it was done just before the judges showed up. Or at least she'd hoped she was finished before the judges showed up. "There!"

See, Xavier liked decorating pumpkins. He was also actually halfway decent at it. But this year, it would have been an exercise in futily - who would have seen his pumpkin from the 4th story balcony of his apartment ? And he hadn't even gotten to carve one for his father, who wasn't apt on giving out candy if Xavier wasn't also doing the job to hand them out. (And eat the leftovers, of course)

Thankfully, it seemed that this booth was here to save him ! He excused himself from Bell for a minute, even through she was free to follow him if she wanted, because there was no way he would get away from this booth without working on a damn pumpkin. Hell, without decorating as many pumpkins as they would let him get away with. Usually he carved them, but this would do.

He gave a friendly wave to his company - Istas earned herself a playful grin - and he was at work, first lining his pumpkin before painting it in black.

Eventually, he stepped, stepping back to observe his careful work. "Not so bad for a warm up."

Pumpkin carving, finally an activity where Ariel could be good in the carnival. Reading books or riding horses are not really useful here. But carving pumpkin was an activity she liked. Every year they were doing it with her mother.

She took one of the knives and started playing with the pumpkin giving to her. So funny, she started to be in the Halloween mood more and more. And finally, after she got pumpkin in her hands and a little part on her face, she finished.

Of course she had a candle in her pocket, no way she will go somewhere without one, and so she put it inside and lighted it.
The result was good from her point of view

Howl nodded his head as a familiar face entered the booth. "Good evening, Mother. Is it that time already?"

Due to her work schedule, all the woman could muster up was a simple pumpkin themed headband for a costume. The rest of her was simply Anastasia Wickham in business attire. The brunette approached the small area where the finished pumpkins were. "Ah, was today slow, my son?"

The teal-haired lad abandoned his post for a moment to accompany his mother in front of the finished pumpkins. "You could say that. Many of the youngsters started the pumpkins, but then were too embarrassed to leave it behind for judging. I would think it would make it easier for you to judge though."

The woman nodded and with a finger, she touched the edge of the pumpkin with a unicorn on it. "I wonder what girl made this precious pumpkin?"

"I believe it was a young man," Howl interjected.

As the teal-haired lad cleaned up for the evening, it was awkwardly silent due to his mother's embarrassment. Everything was cleaned up and put away for the evening.

The next afternoon, Howl returned to run the booth, and in all honesty, it was a rather promising afternoon. He had some early entrants which almost brought the number of finished pumpkins to the same number as the day before.

Day two and Genevieve had more sweets in her mouth. As much as she had thought she was going to win, she wasn't surprised at all that Bodhi had won. She'd gone home and thrown a temper-tantrum, of course, but no one had to know that. Well- That was over and done with. Yesterday's news. Today she was gonna win. The blonde didn't even take the time to remove her food from her mouth, chat with anyone, or even really worry about the costume she was wearing this time. Grabbing the best pumpkin she could find and shoving herself down to work the teenager grabbed a permanent marker and did what she did best:

Istas had come back, having seen Bo had won she chuckled. It was a pretty Unicorn. He deserved it. She smiled and took up a pumpkin that was sorta funny looking. Perhaps it was part squash too or something the way it was shaped.

She sat down with the black glitter paints and began to paint away something that she wanted to do today. She started with little pointed ears and a fat body and continued from there. When she was done she smiled at the finished product.

Surely even if she didn't win someone would like it.

Damian was having a ball, carnivals were totally his things. Rides and candy and everyone in costumes? It was pretty awesome. He currently was dressed up in his Halloween best as the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz.

Walking around the carnival it didn't take him long to find the pumpkin decorating contest. He had heard there was an awesome prize if you won and he wasn't one to pass up trying for an awesome prize.

Stepping in to the booth he took a second to glance around seeing several people working hard on their pumpkins. They didn't seem much for chit chat so instead he grabbed a fat pumpkin and sat himself down to get to work.

The finished product was very amateur, but charming in it's own way....What? He liked Spider-Man okay.

Marx had mostly been avoiding the games booths, not seeing anything he wanted to take part in so far. The first night of pumpkin decorating he'd just passed the booth by without noticing it, but this time he decided to stop and give it a look. His costume wasn't one he'd really thought he would like, but after putting it on he decided he quite liked walking around dressed like Jafar -minus the staff.

Seeing that entrance into the little contest was free, he walked over to pick out a pumpkin and at least give it a try. "It'd help if I had an idea first..darn." Oh well, improvise. He was good at that, sort of.

String at the blank orange pumpkin for a while, and off-and-on reaching into his pocket for some chocolate candies to munch on, he shrugged and just went with it. Orange pumpkin, meet Orange M&M.

(( Oooh, yay! Thank you so much, Lizzy! ))

Bo brushed some extra fuzz off the other side of his pumpkin, admiring the cheerful unicorn that stared back at him. Who didn't love unicorns, seriously? They were the purest and noblest of all creatures. "Like from India across the sea," he said, wiggling one hand as if it were a wave. He leaned in closer to get a look at what Istas had done. "That looks awesome." Bo gently touched on ear. "I like these. Very creative, you should be an artist." He turned back to smile at Vivi. She seemed nice too. Maybe they should hang out more? He could always use another friend.

Down the table, another boy sat and offered a wave. Bo waved back and said, "Oh, hey, nice work, man." The contest was coming to a close, and after all the paint was cleaned, Bo smiled at the two girls at his table. He scribbled his phone number down on a strip of paper and gave it to Vivi. "Nice meeting you. Give me a call some time about those pictures." He stood up. "Way to be, small fry." And then he was gone, heading off into the fray of the carnival once more.

(( Sorry, late reply from yesterday! ))

Lily walked past the pumpkin carving booth, but at the sight of all people milling about, coming and going, she took a step back looking over the booth. Her face lit up into a smile, a look of awe sparkling in the blue-green eyes. The pumpkin that sat upon the table were amazing. She could help, but to come closer walking down the row of people and pumpkins admiring each one.

She stopped for a moment looking at each one and wishing she could take one home with her. The unicorn one was very pretty and their was one that even reminded her of her first encounter with *********, though the monster most certainly wasn't a mud monster.

Lily noticed there were small pumpkin lined up with nothing on the and quickly made to pick one, wanting to make her own lovely creation. Sitting down Lily simply looked at the pumpkin for several moment unsure of what to do but not wanting to make a mess of her outfit. She was still a runway model tonight and her outfit had been another thrown together courtesy of her sister, right from her own sister. Her sister insisted that Lily needed some new style, and what better time the the Halloween carnival, although Lily though Halloween definitely wasn't the best time for it.

After scanning the table she found a box a black push pins and grinned happily. They were perfect for a simple, non-messy design. Picking them up Lily set about pushing them into the pumpkin, becoming lost in her own world and making silly little pattern.
