"Uh…"

Vanessa's golden eyes were wide with surprise. It was her first instinct to wind up and punch Devi on the nose, but there was something reluctant in the other girl's posture that kept Vanessa's fists at bay. She stared, uncomprehending, at everyone in the room.

She did not own a cellphone. They had no family computer. It was a mixture of curiosity and a lust for adventure that had led Vanessa to what was reportedly the scariest floor of the Haunted House, and not this game of Truth or Dare. Vanessa hadn't known what to expect, and struggled a little to put it together.

This was what she came up with:
1. Everybody looked pretty nice.
2. Devi had welcomed her.

Maybe this was some new trend.

"Hey," Vanessa offered simply, smiling, and smacked Devi's a** by way of greeting.

"All right!" Bo said, giving a leisurely fist bump to the air. He turned and grinned at Elzo, laughter in his eyes. It didn't take a lot to amuse Bo, but he was mostly definitely just that -- amused. With Vanessa in the room, Bo walked up to her, towering above her at a modest 6'5", and looped his arms over her shoulders. "Welcome to the game! You had the best welcoming of all, hey?" Did he know this girl? Bo had no idea.

There sure were a lot of girls though, not too shabby.

Guiding Vanessa away from the door, Bo let his eyes drift back to Devi. "It's your turn to pick someone and ask the question of all questions." He grinned again. He was full of grins.

"Okay then," she looked at the two boys, and then the two girls. Who shall be her next victim. She pointed at the brunette boy. "You. What's it going to be? Truth or dare?" As she said this, she mischievously grinned and scratched her chin with her Freddy Krueger claws. She had thought about cackling, but didn't want to go overkill.

Vanessa wasn't short, exactly, but she was also not very tall. Standing somewhere between 5'8" and 5'9", she was of a height with a number of her peers. But Bo- Bo was huge. She liked him at once.

Impressed, as she always was by power and strength, which she was sure he had to possess, Vanessa blinked up at him, and let him guide her further into the room.

"I'm feeling pretty welcomed," she admitted with a toothy grin, and looked him up and down "…you ate all of your vegetables when you were a kid, huh?"

Sure it was the truth, kind of regretting all of the times that she'd stuffed her brussel sprouts into her pockets, or pushed her carrots onto John Jr's plate, Vanessa looked very thoughtful for a moment. And then she was distracted.

"Oh! I love this game!" Beaming from Devi to Elzo, tugging on the suspender straps she wore, Vanessa suggested; "Pick dare!"

It was the best option. Honestly, Vanessa didn't understand why it wasn't the only one.

Elzo had managed to stuff two popcorn balls in his mouth. He looked like a chipmunk. "DAR." He managed to shove a third ball in. The balls were just exceptionally good, and he was exceptionally hungry. Sadly as he munched away, he was able to articulate better. And he'd run out of balls. "Un noffing sheshual." He gave a sage nod. "Ah hab a giffend."

Dale had started her first semester at Sovereign Heights, and was still sadly pretty out of the loop. She had spent most of her summer vacation with her father on a trip to Barcelona. She wasn't sure whether it was because her father wanted to start molding her into his protege, or if it was so he could make sure that she didn't get into any more accidents... either way, the summer had flown by.

Halloween was going to be Dale's first exposure into society. The idea of a ball was thrilling, but Dale had been to parties like that before. No, she wanted something more... intimate. Bo was pretty famous at parties. Gossip crept from whisper to whisper, eventually getting to the Spencer Heir. So, that was why Dale was arriving on the third floor of the Haunted House, dressed up like one hell of a popular butler.

"I hope I'm only fashionably late."
She tried to come off as suave, but in actuality she was somewhat nervous. It had been a long time since she had been to Destiny City. Had things changed much? Would she still be able to climb her way to the top of the social ladder?

One of Dale's hands was behind her back, clenched in a nervous fist.

Amelia watched, eyes wide and fascinated as Devi got her dare and it was a good one. She was glad she didn't have to do it, it'd be awkward, she was a tomboy at heart, not much of an a** slapper.

It didn't take long for someone to come in and then there was a slap! as Devi completed her dare. Amelia couldn't help but giggle, the look on the other girl's face was priceless. Now it was Devi's turn and she had to wonder what she'd come up with.

Thumbs hooked into her belt, careful not to pull too hard and make the whole thing fall off she bounced on the balls of her feet. Ice blue eyes were drawn to the door as another newcomer joined. "Hey there!" She waved at the girl dressed as a butler, she didn't recognize the costume but she looked good in it.

"Hmm," Devi thought about this. She thought about this long and hard. She wasn't sure what to dare someone else to do. She wouldn't dream of daring him to do something sexual anyways, and she felt any gross dares would be too gross. An not so clever idea came to her, she thought it might be amusing. "I dare you to end all of your sentences with 'in bed' for the night. Or at least an hour!"

Did Devi have any idea what devil she had unleashed from it's cage? No, Elzo thought, she did not. She was so innocent in her dare that he almost wanted to cry. In bed? Really? He was expecting something more intense! Like to eat 5 bags of candy, or go get into a fight then end said fight by kissing a dude. Or kissing Bo. Elzo might have done so on a dare once before. Bo and him didn't really talk much about that particular party.

"Baby, I can do it all night long...in bed." A smile of smiles. Elzo overall figured the dare to be a good start at least.

"Now, it seems we have a few other victims. In bed. Little miss nerdy birdy, sexy butler babe, and another lovey lady tonight for us to dare Bo...in bed." Elzo was going to do his dare. He really was. "I think we ought to ask them to join us. In Bed. After all playing truth or dare is no fun when it's just you and me." Now Elzo frowned. "...In bed,"
Mental image. DNW.
"So ladies, truth or dare in bed?"

Wide blue eyes beamed at Vanessa. "Sure, yeah! Lots of veggies." His attention was almost immediately sapped away when a new girl entered the room. "Hey-o," he said, hooking a wave over at her.

Then Devi was issuing a dare to Elzo that made Bo snort. "Oh man," he said, laughing, "Elzo would do that anyway. Without the dare." He went up for a highfive. His mind glossed over that Night That Shall Not Be Named without shame. Bo did a lot of things that he never regretted, regardless of how awkward it might end up.

He watched with a growing grin as Elzo made full use of his own dare. His eyes moved to the girls. "If one of you steps up, I can promise you don't have to laugh at his jokes." Bo laughed. Bo would probably laugh at the jokes all night.

Ah, complaints. They made the day complete, he had to admit. People always complained, even when it wasn't halloween and things weren't exceptionally busy and interesting. They complained about late fees, or replacement fines. They complained about how long or short check out times were. They complained about hours. They complained about good things, and bad things, legitimate things and silly things. People were just wont to complain.

So when someone came up to the front desk to the man dressed as Indiana Jones, that man wasn't too quick to think it was a real concern. Oh no, kids were having fun in the haunted house? He'd get right on it.

But he didn't say that. In the moment, he didn't even think it. His clever, sarcastic retort didn't come to him until he was in the elevator, heading up to the floor in question after politely apologizing for the problem and promising to handle it immediately.

Leaning on his cane, which he had wrapped a whip around in order to mask it and make it a bit more Indiana Jones-y. Fedora sitting on his head, he waited for the doors to open before stepping out and quickly finding the source of the complaint. And it seemed it was spot on: kids, playing some kind of game, and there was alcohol involved.

"All right, fun's over," Indiana said, like the party pooper he was, "who's in charge here?"

He kept his muscles coiled, fully expecting all the kids to bolt in various directions.

Kids did explode in many directions, in a sort of every man for himself kind of scenario. It was probably prompted by one very, very tall boy in the center shouting, "Okay, thanks for playing! Everybody, run!" And then, that same stupidly tall boy, simply walked up to the librarian, extended a hand, and said, "I am Bo. I am 21-years-old, and I really like your hat." There was nothing smarmy or condescending about the way that Bo approached Tony. He seemed honest, genuine even as he told everyone to go run away, and even the extended hand was bent with such a tilt that suggested respect.

Bo Hanley was, if anything, a nice guy.

So nice in fact that he fully took the fall for whatever punishment might be given out for kids who congregated in places where they shouldn't. Bo had alcohol on him, which was an issue, but since he was 21, it was not as much of an issue as it would have been if Elzo Xanis hadn't of booked it out of there. Fully accepting his punishment and fully grinning-but-apologetic to Tony-ana Jones, Bo Hanley ended his run at the Halloween Carnival.

And he would really need to buy himself a fedora one of these days.

((Anyone who isn't Bo is ICly off the hook! Thanks for playing in our little game.))
