"I'm Brennus," he said softly into her ear. "My parents, Regina and Lughnasadh, lead the Sunflare Herd. My father, Lughnasadh, was a sun before he Fell. I am my father's only son, and my older half sister, Sunniva, is the heiress of the herd. What's your name, Nectar-sweet?" he asked, his emerald eyes boring into her rose eyes as he smiled and called her by a little nickname.

The mare raised her head as she looked to the stallion that was named Brennus. She smirked at hearing his name, as it was very different and something she didn’t think he would be named. Although after repeating the stallion’s name a couple times in her head the name started to suit him very well. “I’m Fauna,” she pulled her head back and tossed her mane. The smile began to blossom on her lips as she looked at him and once again felt as though she were downing within his emerald optics. “So,” she tried to stray away from her thoughts by clearing her throat. “Since your parents are leaders of the Sunflare herd. What are you doing out here?” she asked cocking her head to the side. “Or are you allowed to do anything you want? I mean technically, aren’t you a prince since of what role your parents play?” she asked. “Huh? Bren?” she laughed softly with a grin at the little pet name she had given him in return of him giving her a nick name.

Brennus grinned. He definitely liked this girl. "Yeah, I'm a prince in my herd, but Sunniva is the crown princess. So, with two full sisters off doing their own thing, Sunniva being Dad's right hoof, and a new adopted baby sister, I don't always feel part of the family, so sometimes I wander off. Don't get me wrong, I love the herd and I love my family, but being the only prince can get kinda lonely after a while. I mean, if I had a princess of my own, it wouldn't be so bad..." he added, carefully leaving the end hanging. Hopefully she'd get the message and accept the offer to be his princess. That'd be awesome. That, and he really liked this girl. After all, he'd never invite a girl to be part of the family if he didn't absolutely love her. Brennus might seem a prince who played around all the time, but he was actually as dedicated and heartfelt as the rest of his family.

Fauna nodded her head as she listened to Brennus. “So basically there’s too much estrogen within your family and you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all because you’re the only male besides your father. Right?” she asked in hopes that she had summed everything. She pursed her lips together and pondered for a moment as she tried to place herself within his hoof-steps. She too would feel distant and yet without a herd she already did. She felt like an outcast from the world. She had been on her own for quite some time and couldn’t remember ever having a family or at the very most a companion.
“Maybe what you need a hobby,” she said. “I mean. A princess too would be a good distraction. Though I don’t know any princesses,” Fauna wriggled her nostrils. She didn’t really know anyone let alone someone of royal bloodline.
She licked the corners of her lips and savored the last taste of nectar before turning around. She leaped and laughed softly at the soft squishy pad below her hooves. “What do you like to do?” she asked him. Fauna glanced over her shoulder and flicked her tail as she looked at the young stallion. “What do you like?” she tilted her head to the side with a smile.

"Yeah, overwhelmed, and a little superfluous, being the only prince when my older half sister is the crown princess," he said with a rueful grin. "As for a princess...a girl can be a princess if she ends up with a prince, right? So any girl can be my princess. And the one who's going to be my princess is the girl I'm looking at, Nectar-sweet."
He stepped closer to her on his white hooves suavely. "As for what I like...I like flying, I like sweet, tangy things, like fruit and nectar, I like to be active, and I like exploring."

Fauna gulped quietly and licked her lips, as they suddenly felt dry as she looked at Brennus. She tossed her mane back to hide her blushing cheeks even though her coat was dark enough to not take any notice. She could feel the girly self of her giggle as his words kept repeating in her mind. Never before had any taken such notice of her before and then she met Brennus. It was like he appreciated her and in a way, she appreciated him. After all he was the one who taught her how to shift into a smaller form. And now flying! Her rosy eyes softened as she looked at him. She opened her mouth as though she were going to say something, but instead bit her tongue. The light in her eyes began to dim as she looked away from him.
She snorted softly and shook her head. “That’s a good start,” she finally spoke though not the words she truly wanted to say. “Maybe in those things you like to do, you can find a distraction. It may help,” Fauna raised her head and looked to him. There was a smile on her face. It wasn’t bright, but it was there. Settle and soft. Stepping to the side she widened the gap between them again.
She looked up at sky to notice that the clouds were darkening. She groaned and sighed as the air smelled different. It smelled…grouchy. “C’mon Bren. I think it’s about to storm,” she said. Although now the real tricky part was changing back into her normal size. She made a face and wondered how long that would take.

Brennus grinned. She clearly didn't get the fact yet that he wanted her to be his distraction. Oh, well. He had plenty of time to get her to see his point and his feelings. As for shelter....
He flew underneath the largest of the flowers, where it created a safe overhang where their delicate wings wouldn't get wet. "Down here," he called up to her. "It'll be dry down here, though it'll be a snug fit," he added with a grin. A snug fit was fine with him. In fact, he liked sharing shelter with her a bit better with a snug fit.

Flora was a bit wobbly as she was still trying to adjust to the delicate wings that could now bare her body in flight. “Am I doing this right?” she called out, unsure if she was flying in a correct way or not. Was there even a right way to be flying? At least she was still up in the air and hadn’t fallen down. She tried to be as graceful as she could manage as she landed in front of Brennus and followed him underneath the petals.
“A snug fit indeed,” she muttered as she felt her side pushed up against him. Her cheeks flushed and she quickly dipped her head down to hide her blushing face. Flora was quiet for a moment or two as the rain began to fall from the grey clouds that lingered above. She sighed louder than she intended to as she shifted her weight on her hooves.
“So…” she started as she looked around trying to think of something to talk about. The silence between them was making her rather uncomfortable. “Will your family be looking for you? I don’t want you getting into any trouble on my account,” she asked Brennus with a soft smile. She raised her head and looked at the young male. The smile on her lips blossoming as she kept her eyes on him.

Brennus grinned. "You're doing fine," he said, seriously considering snuggling closer. "My family won't be looking for me. They trust I know where I'm going and that I'll come home when I feel it's time for me to come home." He intentionally raised his head to look back at her in such a way that their muzzles would touch. His green eyes showed no remorse, only a deep fascination with her, and he slowly smiled.

Her lips parted as she could feel the warmth of his breath against the end of her snout. Fauna's cheeks flushed as the near touch of their muzzles brushing up against one another. She blinked as she looked into his emerald optics. For a brief moment Fauna felt like getting lost in his gaze but she blinked away and the trans was broken. Fauna lowered her head and exhaled. "T-Tell me more about your family," she nearly stuttered. Fauna kept her gaze down onto the ground not understanding why these feelings were happening all at once and so quickly.

Brennus smiled, since it appeared that Fauna liked him, too. "Mine is a friendly family that rules a very large and friendly herd back that way," he said, indicating the way he'd come. "There's me, my sister Kana, my sister Delilah, my stepsister Sunniva, and my parents. I'm the only son in the family, but not the only Arion: Mom and Kana are also Arions, though Dad, Delilah, and Sunniva are all Starborns. Mom, Dad, and Sunniva are usually busy running the herd, so I don't talk to them quite as much. They're really nice and responsible, though. Kana's been gone a while now on an adventure of sorts. She was always a sweet girl. Delilah...Delilah's kinda lonely. She doesn't have Arion wings, but she has markings on her side that look like my wings, and it drives her crazy. We're all there for her, as much as possible, since she needs as much support as she can get."
He paused. "So...what's your family like?" he asked warmly.

Fauna blinked as she looked to Brennus with a lopsided smile. A heavy sigh escaped from her vocals as she stepped out from underneath the shade of the large silken petals.
"My family," she exhaled softly. There was a painful sadness in her tone when she spoke those two single words. Fauna knew that from hearing about Brennus's family that speaking of her own wouldn't be something to be compared with.
Not to mention the lineage that he came from. With head dipped down, she turned to the young stallion with a faint smile.
"I'm not really sure," Fauna admitted. "I suppose I do have a Mother and Father out there somewhere. It would be logical to have parents and perhaps some siblings. But it's been years since I've seen either one of them," Fauna said.
Her ears pulled back and her eyes closed briefly. "I remember having a Mother once. I remember her touch and smell, but that's all I have. All I have are memories of her." Fauna opened her eyes and raised her head, looking to Brennus.
She tossed her mane back and shook her head before taking a step to him. "It's all right. You shouldn't pity me," she said. "Who needs parents anyways? The way I see it, I live by my own rules. I don't need to share whatever it is that I wish to keep," she said. Her eyebrows furrowed a bit. "Call it selfish if you wish. But I don't really think I'm all that selfish," she said.
Fauna blinked away from him and up to the clear sky. "But you are lucky," she started. "Lucky to have those who love you...around you," she smiled as she looked to him. Fauna laughed softly as she stepped closer to him and nipped gently on his mane. "Come now. It stopped raining. I'm sure there are other, far more adventurous things to do than to stay huddled underneath a flower." Fauna giggled and then tugged on his mane again before taking a step back from him.

Brennus stepped forward and arched his neck protectively over her. "I'll be your family now. My luck will be your luck, as will my joys and your sorrows and worries." He held his stance like that for a few moments before grinning and stepping back, tossing his coal-dark mane and tail. "Shall we fly? There are other fields around here, mostly occupied by my father's herd, but they're still quite a sight," he added temptingly as he stepped from beneath the shelter of the flower and prepared to regain his proper size.
