Amaidi's heart clenched a bit on the words used and looked up at her mother-in-law. If this vixen didnt approve it wouldnt matter to amaidi because nothing would get in her way of trying to make mercury happy. However she knew her mate wanted his mothers approval and looked the vixen straight in the eye keeping her famous other side back. "Its a pleasure to meet you too"

Mercury's golden eyes stared between the two females, calculating their reactions. He could feel the tension humming between the two of them as they sized each other up.
His ears fell down a little. "She didn't kidnap my heart Momma, I gave it to her." He made his voice calm and soothing, reassuring.

Runaiu noticed Mercury's tone, sighing softly. What was she doing? Challenging the vixen for taking more of her sons love from her? She knew it would happen eventually. He was loveable, and affectionate. She needed to support him, and her. If she caught his eye than surely she was safe.
"How'd you to meet?" She questioned, her tone softening, sounding defeated.

Mercury didn't like it when Runaiu got so sad looking. He moved over to gently nuzzle her. "Don't worry Momma, you're still the most beautiful mother out there! Me having a mate doesn't change any of that."
He pulled back to answer her question. "I just stumbled across her in a field, chasing butterflies. The butterflies came to hide behind me." He chuckled, remembering.

Amaidi shook her head and looked of towards the trees. Suddenly she was feeling like the bad guy who ripped a part a family. She should have expected a bit of resistance to being mercury's mate even if he was the one that asked. "Actually I was pouncing different things, not just butterflies." Amaidi stated. "then he got curious and walked over to talk to me. Nothing to terribly exciting" amaidi said smiling.

Runaiu raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly at Amaidi. "He would approach a bear and smile at it if he found one." She had decided to play nice, for now. Anyway, she was glad Mercury was back, and Amaidi generally seemed to make him happy. As long as he was happy so was she.

"We still have to find her family and tell them," Mercury said, purposingly omitting the fact that he'd already met one of Amaidi's brothers. He made a face. "Apparently it would be something best done at a distance."
His body shook a bit in a chuckle. It did seem to be their luck that both had parents infamous for their desire to keep their kids safe and protected. Goodness knows he'd be the same with his children.

Amaidi nodded sadly and gave a mock glare over towards her mate. " I think he's already tried that" she teased and then went rather serious when the thought of her family came up. "yes like three countries away with one of those devices that makes humans sound louder" she shook her head.

Runaiu tilted her head at this. Humans? She sort of knew what they did, how they interacted with one another and she didn't remember them doing anything other then use their mouths, or some box like device they spoke into. Being a hopeful member of Phoenix meant she lived in the city, but for now she was still traveling until she was told she belonged there.
"I could assist you, come with you to help speak to her family. I'm sure they'd feel better if another parent figure spoke on your behalf." The ultimate acceptance, she wanted to help the two speak to Amaidi's family. Though, she swore if Amaidi ever even made Mercury cry she'd go after the vixen like a tornado.

Mercury turned and gave Amaidi a look. He was silently asking her if this would be a good idea. While Mercury would enjoy having his momma along to talk with and have them get closer as a family, he had to wonder if two volitile parents within even a mile of proximity of each other would be a good idea. And if Momma was part of a tribe there was no telling how Amaidi's father would take that. Some tribes were quite territorial.

"thank you for the offer, but its okay. I sort of understand where my dad is coming from. See I'm the only girl he's had and he doesnt want to give me up just yet... but dont worry if he tries anything to mercury it wont matter if he's my dad or not. He is going to be extremely sorry." Amaidi lightly growled glaring at the ground. It was just a brief show of her mafia side before she went back to her bubbly personality. Her family was apparently quite famous for that sudden change in personality when it came to their beloved ones. "Of course Mercury might like the support so you could come if you wanted." she thought trying to show that she valued the support Runaiu was giving.

Runaiu's lip twitched as the female jumped from friendly to dark, eyeing her. She was observant, noting how the close the female was to Mercury, how she looked at the male and how she hadn't been faking a growl, it was real and low. This vixen was entranced with Mercury, she doubted much harm would come to her son if she was around. Though, she did wish to follow for some reason. Maybe to be closer with her son after awhile of separation? Or maybe just because she wanted to travel.
She glanced over at her son, leaving the decision for him. He was older now, he didn't need her anymore. She was not his shield anymore, merely someone who had raised him.

Mercury's tail swished behind him. "Of course I want you to come along Momma, long as it's not a trouble to you or anything. It's not like we'll be in tribe lands the entire time." He looked between the vixens. "We could always meet your dad on our own, then head back so Momma can rejoin the city tribe."
He looked at Runaiu, worried. "They won't mind that you're leaving to travel with us, will they?"

Runaiu flicked her tail is contempt. "Wether or not they care is not my concern. You come first before any tribe, Mercury. Anyway, they haven't accepted me yet. I dare them to try and stop me from spending time with my son." She liked claiming Mercury as her son, protectively wrapping her tail around one of his legs, fondly nuzzling him before giving Amaidi a once over. Again.
"Also, it'll be good for me to bond with your friend here." Runaiu mused, flipping her tail back and forth. She was not ready to call Amaidi Mercury's mate in her mind, wanting to see if she would protect and love her son before she did so. Though, Runaiu didn't hate her, she merely was taking her time warming up to her. Runaiu was a tough shell to crack, her insecurities a barrier between herself and everyone else.

"Momma," Mercury sighed, sounded half exasperated and half amused. He nuzzled the vixen back. He knew his mother could be difficult sometimes, but he himself had never experienced that side of her.
He really did hope the two could get along though. It would be horrible, being forced to chose between the two most important people in his life!
