The female scout said nothing at first, only grinning cheekily at him as she pushed herself up. Her palms were pressed against the grass as she sat up, settling on his stomach so he would have a difficult time retaliating. She folded her arms across her chest triumphantly as she glanced down at him.
"Serving you a warm dish of payback sir," she replied haughtily very proud that she had not only tricked him but bested him(in her mind) even if he had the baseball now. As he shifted she slipped backwards a little and immediately reached her hand out to catch herself, effectively losing her good hold, with her weight, on him.
Now she was off balance and fairly vulnerable as she tried to pick herself back up and regain her position.

Chaonis was suddenly not having quite as much fun as he was before. Mostly because he had a senshi, though light and not really trouble for him, sitting on his stomach. It was more her victorious face that bothered him.
He wasn't much of a graceful loser.
"I thought payback was best served cold?" he asked, which was pointless and stupid as, yes, now they were playing with words and it could be considered almost witty in the very basic sense that it was a pun, but it failed to be a very good one. It didn't do him any good, and didn't make a point for himself. He frowned, chewing over his next words so they would be a bit more clever.
When she was thrown off balance by his moving he grinned and seized the moment, but perhaps not in the way she might have anticipated. He grabbed her by the arms and pulled her up with him as he stood, then hauled her over his shoulder.
"Alright, I'm finding the closest muddy puddle and leaving you in it," he informed her.

Denebola let out a little squeak as she was hoisted to her feet. She ripped her hands from his practically scowling at him. How dare he? She had been comfy! She moved to cross her arms over her chest when he did something completely unexpected, he tossed her onto his shoulder.
"Eeeek!" She shrieked unhappily beating her fist against his back. "Put me down!" She cried wiggling around in a desperate attempt to free herself. Unfortunately he had a good grip on her and her attempts were futile.
"If you drop me in mud I'll take you down with me," she threatened glaring at his head as though it would do anything. Finally she stopped struggling, because really it wasn't doing her any good. However she did grab tightly onto whatever part of his uniform she could.
She was serious, if she was going down then he would go down with her.

Chaonis laughed at her threat, and at her futile kicking and struggling, though at one point he thought he might drop her. He didn't let her know that, though, glad to feel her give up as he carted her across the field. It had to have been watered at some point, right? So there had to be something mucky about.
"I think the difference between us, though," he pointed out, "is that you actually care if you get muddy. Me? Not such a big deal."
He grinned, stopping in his progress to spin them around in a circle, as fast as he could, just to disorient her. And himself, of course, but at least he was expecting it. Shaking his head, a bit wobbly, he continued on and found his target. A patch of slick grass and mud, right near a broken sprinkler.
"You're not going to let go of me, are you?" he asked, trying to tug her from his shoulder. "OH well. I guess we'll both have to go for a swim." He made to slowly fall forward, wanting to see what she might do.

"You don't know the first thing about me," she growled defiantly. Yes, she was vain and might have given him a clue about that but it didn't mean that she couldn't get down and dirty when she felt like it. Actually that's usually what happened whenever she was out dragonfly hunting. As long as she felt like she looked better than anyone else, then being dirty wouldn't hurt her.
Now if he had hit her in the face with the baseball, then that would be a completely different story. Why? Because it would have left a mark a lasting mark which simply would not do. Facial bruises were difficult to cover up so she simply would not have it.
But mud?
Mud she could handle. At least she was determined to. "Doesn't matter if you get me all muddy, I'm still going to look a hell of a lot better than you," she stated stubbornly grabbing a hold of him even tighter. "You're still going down with me," she told him even as she tried to pull herself onto his back so he'd get the worst of it.

Chaonis laughed. At least she was interesting! It was always difficult, and more fun because of it, to pick on similarly defiant people as him. They were tough and witty, and tended not to go down easily.
They just had a lot more spunk, which in turn made picking a fight with them that much more entertaining. Really, he ended up liking them. It was his 'casual conversation' method, instead of... actual conversation.
Normal people could say hi, how are you, and get to know each other that way. Chaonis preferred having fun, and seeing how they took it.
"Oh? Jealous of my good looks, are you? That's nice," he grinned, feeling her stubbornly refusing to let him go. So he did the obvious thing. He turned around and fell backwards, so he would land back first in the mud while she, hopefully, landed face first.

If the senshi had to be honest she would admit that while the boy was certainly infuriating, she was enjoying herself. Or rather that she had been enjoying herself but now that he was threatening her with a face full of mud, well she was not fond of him at the moment. Why was he so insistent on playing dirty?
She squirmed one last time trying to free herself when he began to fall backward. Oh s**t, oh s**t, OH s**t! she screamed mentally immediately releasing her grip on his back and trying to scramble back. Her previous tactic had not helped her at all, so now she was trying something else.
In the flurry of her scrambling limbs she hitched a knee forward in her attempt to get a hold of something that would help her in this situation. Unable to think of anything else to do she stuck her hand out, palms facing downward, in hopes of catching herself so the damage wouldn't be too bad.

Chaonis felt her renewed struggling as he fell, which caught him off guard when she managed to hit him a few times with her arms and legs.
"Hey now!"
He hit the ground, sinking a bit into the mud. Her hands would have sunk right in, but at least she had pulled back enough to avoid getting her head stuck in it. He watched her, noting that she was now sitting on top of him, not half as muddy as he had hoped, and she was rather safe.
Not the best plan he had ever made, he had to admit that. Though, with her bent forward and her hands in the mud, at least he had a good view up at her.
"See? This isn't so bad," he said, grinning ear to ear.

Eeeewwww
Her hands were being sucked right in to the mud and boy it was sticky so she couldn't pull her hands out of them, but at least most of her was mud-free. She was basically straddling him now, with her knees pressed to his sides and just the tips of her shoes sticking in the mud as she did her best to keep her from getting any muddier.
She peered down at his face as he made his comment. She shook her head but wore a semi-playful grin on her face. She pulled back just a bit, dragging her hand through the mud, closer to him. "Cheeky fellow aren't you," she teased.
The boy was a pain in the a**, that was for sure but he was cute and Denebola couldn't help but tease and flirt.

"It's one of my most charming qualities," he said, grinning broadly. Of course, it was hard to argue that he had any 'charming' qualities, as he certainly didn't go out of his way to be so.
After a moment he put his hands on her hips and plucked her up, holding her at arm's length in an effort to free her from the mud. She wasn't too heavy for him, and being a senshi certainly helped make it look easy.
He turned to the side and plopped her back into the mud, getting to his feet.
Looking down at himself, covered in dirt as he was, he laughed.
"Alright, I think that's enough. I can't even see my uniform any more," it was a bit of an exaggeration, unless one was looking at him from behind. The feel of mud and water on his neck was grossing him out. He shook his head, rather like a dog might, trying to get rid of the feeling.
"The name is Chaonis. Did I say that before?"

"Most charming indeed," she replied with a roll of her eyes. It was all in playfulness, until he lifted her up into the air. She let out a squeak of surprise, until he dropped her. She landed on her knees but sat with most of her weight on her left side getting the rest of her legs and quite a bit of her skirt all muddy. She sighed, shaking her head as she pushed her self off of the ground and to stand.
Boo, he had been successful after all.
"Oh, I don't know, I think you could use just a little bit more," she told him stepping forward, hand out stretched as she reached to draw warpaint like mud marking on his cheeks. She might have been dirty and while it was upsetting, but only slightly, as long as he was dirty then she was okay.
"Mm, no don't think it crossed your mind, you were too busy throwing things at me," she wrinkled her nose as she stepped away. "Sailor Denebola at your service."

Chaonis wrinkled his nose when she painted his face with the mud, pulling back and shaking his head. He frowned, but didn't wipe it off right away.
"Do you feel better about it now?" he asked, meaning getting all muddy, now that she had gotten some on his face. He chuckled, shaking his head.
He grinned when she introduced herself, nodding his head.
"Well, it's good to meet you, Sailor Denebola. Wait. Like. Den. Ebola? Like the disease?" He was purposefully playing with her name, grinning and laughing. "Alright, Ebola, this was fun, but now I need to go find a shower so I don't drag mud into the house."
He probably wasn't going to do that, but that would be someone elses problem to clean up.
"You make a good target. Maybe I'll throw something at you again some time."

"Only a little," she replied with a small smirk, "I think you could use some more," she threatened shaking her index finger at him before shaking both of her hand downward to rid herself of any access mud. She chuckled at his play on her scout name and shrugged. "Yep! You've got it!" She grinned. "Better watch out then, don't want to infect you with the virus, can't have your cute face rotting now can we?" she teased.
"Oh, so you're admitting defeat then?" She cocked her head as she took another step back. "Suits me just fine," she said, "though if you throw something at me again I don't think you'll get off so easy," she fake threatened winking as she turned away from.
"Don't be too much trouble Chaonis," she tsked pulling her phone out and letting it scan him. "I'll be watching my back for your chaos"

Chaonis laughed, nodding his head. He let her get his information, shaking his head and lifting his hands to wipe off some more mud from his face. It wasn't doing any good, however, as he had mud on his hands and it wasn't helping at all. He sighed, not too bothered.
"I wouldn't call this a defeat, just a temporary hold. A limited truce for cleaning, then we'll see if you watching for chaos will do you any good in stopping it." He grinned and waved over his shoulder as he moved off.
That had been more entertaining then even he had planned, and throwing the ball was fully intended for the purpose of having fun. He chuckled to himself, shaking his head as he walked off, ignoring the sounds of squishing uncomfortableness that came from his clothes. It was a good thing he didn't really have to worry about cleaning his senshi outfit.
Or he'd be in real trouble, as he was certainly not one who did laundry.
"See ya later," he called.

"Call it a truce but I'll still call it a victory," she replied with a shrug. "Though if you want a rematch I'm game, just on another day." Sure the senshi had been a relative pain in the a** but he had been amusing and for that she appreciated his company, but if he didn't watch himself he'd get more than mud on his face.
Denebola wasn't afraid to play dirty.
She waved his fake warning off, "I never said I wanted to stop it." No, stopping it wouldn't be that much fun but it didn't mean she couldn't be prepared for it. "Sometime," she called in return glancing at him briefly before beginning to walk away in the other direction.
It was about time for her to go home, she had wasted enough time with the troublemaker. There wasn't much patrolling left for her to do. Home sounded nice too, especially since it meant she wouldn't stay all dirty.
