Serenade set the teapot carefully down after all the cups had been filled with the tea, and smiled wistfully at Istas. "Indeed. But school gives an opportunity to learn more and make friends. And I play the piano and that's fun, so it's really not so bad. My stuffed animals probably do miss how frequent our tea parties were back then." And Zue too, though she wasn't sure he had enjoyed it entirely; he just had put up with it for her sake.
"Well, one day you'll be able to." She told Istas. "Baking is really really fun! Some are really complicated, but when you look at the finished product, the amount of satisfaction makes all the work absolutely worth it." Of course, simple baking was fun too; she had baked cookies for the Zodiacs before! "It's alright; I'll just have the one for now."

Istas listened as Serenade spoke, when there was mention of a piano. "Oh you play!?" She seemed excited at the fact, "Is it hard to play? I know I've seen people play but I always wondered if it was hard to do." The child might've been interested in at least trying to learn how to play even if she didn't end up sticking to it.
"I had a toy piano once, but I was never really good. Though it might would've helped to have had lessons." She giggled, wondering if she still had it. She knew her wooden rocking horse was in her room, with one of her larger stuffed animals seated on it.
She nodded, "I know, I make a good helper! I can't get the eggs to crack when I try but mom lets me help measure flour and the other things." She made a nod, "She occasionally lets me have the icing after she gets finished with a cake." The child nodded when Serenade said she'd have just one for now. "What school do you go to?" She asked curiously wondering if it was Crystal or Meadowview, probably the two schools she had heard the most about and knew existed as highschools.

Serenade bobbed her head in response. "It's not really that difficult." She told Istas. "I mean, most people learn how to play at a young age, and they usually start out with the basics. And it's pretty fun to be able to play tunes that you love." It was like how sometimes, she liked taking a break from her classical pieces to play some Disney songs.
"I'm enrolled in Crystal Academy." The green-haired girl replied, after swallowing a bite of her cookie. And of course, there had been Barren Pines, but the name now sounded like a nightmare instead of a proper institution for studying. "It has excellent music programs, you see. And staying in a dorm isn't too bad either."

Istas nodded, "Oh, could you maybe teach me one day?" She asked curiously looking at Serenade wondering if she'd be willing to teach. "I'm sure my mama wouldn't mind specially if she saw how nice you are."
The child's eyes lit up however at the mention of Crystal, "It's a nice place to go? I've heard a lot of different things about it But I've always wondered if they're true. It sounds like the best school ever though."
She paused, "Is a dorm more like a hotel or a house? I've never understood that." The child was nibbling on one of her own cookies in between talking to Serenade and asking the girl with a million questions. "I wonder if I'd like Crystal when I could go to High school..." She'd heard the school mentioned so much by her father she wasn't really sure what he was planning.

"Of course." Serenade affirmed. She had always been willing to teach those interested to play, like in Barren Pines, she thought. There had been Benny and the others. People who had died in there, whom she had missed, even though she knew that the memories of them knowing each other longer than they had actually spent time together were tampered with. "I'll give you my number. Do you have any paper and pen?"
"Crystal's not bad." She said carefully. Sure, there were mean girls who gossiped behind her back every now and then, but schools were like that, right? "It's really all up to you to make a decision though."
"It's kind of like a hotel, but more comfy." Calling it a hotel sounded too formal, she thought. "I mean, you can have a roommate, and you'll slowly get used to your room, with all your stuff around."

Istas picked up one of her stuffed animals, and unzipped it's back, amazingly it was a backpack and pulled out a small book with rainbow bright on it and a pen. "Here!" She said cheerfully with a smile.
The child listened as the other talked about crystal, taking a sip of her tea. She seemed captivated by the information. Nodding after the older girl was finished she smiled, "I bet it'd be nicer than having to put up with mean boys." She seemed to consider this idea.
"Oh that sounds fun!" She smiled, "A roommate? Are roommates fun?" She asked curiously with a tilt of her head not being able to image sharing her room with someone else. She took another cookie and nibbled on it thoughtfully, not noticing she was getting crumbs on her.

Serenade wrote her name and number down on a blank page and then handed it back to Istas.
"I do have some friends in Meadowview." The Zodiacs seemed to be happy there, and if not for Crystal's prestigious music program, Serenade would have left to join them, especially since Elke was there now. "Besides, not all boys are mean." There were nice boys like Topher, Andeon, Grayson, Bo, Noel and Elzo, and Serenade smiled at Istas encouragingly. It wouldn't do to let one bad encounter let her down.
"They are." Serenade said, choosing her words carefully. Nowadays, Elke the Bear was technically her roommate, ever since the real Elke withdrew from Crystal. "It's a good way to make friends too!"

Istas looked at the number before placing it into her backpack with a smile.
"Oh?" The information seemed to interest the child, "Meadowview's always looked interesting not as pretty as what I've seen of Crystal though." She nodded softly, almost thoughtfully.
"Oh, I know... just the ones that are, I'd rather be away from." She said with a slight frown. The bully at her school was no fun and he was pretty mean too.
She nodded, "Roommates sound neat then." She finished off the cookie she was eating after some nibbles. Looking down she noticed the crumbs, oops; she brushed those off quickly.

"It's up to you." Serenade told Istas with a smile. "You have time to think about it, after all!" There was a small frown as the girl mentioned that there were mean boys at where she was, and Serenade sympathized. Not that she had been bullied by boys, really, but she had always been gossiped about by the meaner girls at Crystal. Perhaps it wasn't the same sort of bullying per se, but it was a terrible feeling nevertheless.
"We should go soon." She commented, with a wistful shrug. "Before the weather gets worse." The wind had picked up again, blowing at Serenade's hair, and she tucked it behind her ears. Besides, Istas could always continue her tea party in the safety of her room.

Istas nodded, "Thank you" She said to Serenade as she smiled, "I know I still have a lot of time left at Knightside school." It seemed like she'd be going to school forever.
Istas squeaked as one of her plush toys blew over, "Yes we should probably, thank you for having tea with me." The lilac haired child smiled as she started to pick up her plush toys so that they wouldn't get swept away in the wind. "Would you like some cookies to take with you?" She asked the older girl curiously.

"Oh no, it's alright." Serenade assured Istas, with a polite bow in return. "Thank you for the tea party! It was certainly quite fun." Before she left, she helped the girl, pick up a few of her toys, and making sure Istas hadn't misplace anything.
