Kirel did like that girl's green dragon as well; she was so much more biddable than the stubborn Eltimioth.
"I'll see to it Eltimioth conveniently forgets just whom she heard it from," E'lai said dryly, appreciating Keela's concern. He wouldn't want to be the person whose dragon leaked what must be an embarrassment for his weyr, and surely it was an embarrassment from Benden's perspective. But also surely Benden couldn't expect to keep it a secret for very long at all. He was half surprised he hadn't heard already--then again, it was Eltimioth who did the gossiping, not him. I know you're already planning on telling Tereth, so leave out the Benden dragon telling you, all right? he added.
Very well, Eltimioth said with a sigh.

At least they had their humans. Their humans were very kind to them. heart Actually, she was going to go find hers now. Perhaps she would visit again later!
With a farewell trill to Kirel and E'lai, the small crimson jumped back into the air before popping Between.
"That would be appreciated." Fortunately her own dragon would likely forget this conversation even happened in no time at all, so that might help things out just a little bit. Somehow. "In any case, I suppose we should both get back to our search. We'll move a bit further out so as not to impede you guys."

"Of course," E'lai said with a brisk nod. "Good luck to you." And he really meant it, Keela seemed...a nice enough sort, for a Benden rider. And he didn't really begrudge Benden a future queen, it'd be awful if any of the weyrs simply died out...
He continued to search the nearby vicinity, but he had a feeling that today was just not going to be the day. And Eltimioth was more than amply distracted enough by the news to be of little use at all. Should we just go back home then?
Oh, could we? Eltimioth asked, sounding a little too excited.

"Thanks," she said as she climbed atop of Taith. "You two as well." While it would be best for Benden to locate more of the plant, any Weyr finding it would be helpful. Once they had enough live samples they could work on farming the plant and growing enough of it to keep all of the Weyrs alive. It would be a long and hard road, but it would be worth it. Let's put some distance between us, Taith. I want us to be able to search alone.
No problem there. In a single leap the green was airborne (moving surprisingly well for her bulky frame) and speeding away from the two, she and Hers looking for a new area to hunt in.
