this horse has been beaten to DEATH.

the people who are all anti BOTH forums BOTH have their heads in the goddamn sand. BOTH forums have their STRONG points and their WEAK points.
I go to DOA for information, a friendly enviroment. when i want to b***h about long doll waits, random off topic stuff, then i go to DOD. because DOA ISNT for off topic stuff and i RESPECT THAT. i do NOT go to DOD to bash Aimee and it wasnt MADE for that anyway.

I actually feel more at home in DoD then DoA. When I post on DoA my posts are ignored and my topics never replied in. when I first joined I got flamed for one simple mistake about mixing up an EL with an Elf EL (I knew nothing about BJD's at the time). I don't feel welcome on their at all, and feel more like a nuisance when I ask a question or post a topic.

Wheras on DoD, sure it can be immature, but you can say what you want, be funny, and stupid and no one cares. People take it in their stride and now its a joke. I mean yeah sometimes it can get out of hand etc. But its not like that on DoA,everything is sugar coated till its overly sweet and sticky. Then when something does go wrong its a huuuuge bust up.

At the end of the day, they both serve purposes, and neithero f them is going to pack up and leave mmkay?

TeaTime, you can say whatever you want on DoA as long as it is true and not flaming anyone. I don't know where you people get off thinking Aimee is censoring people, I'd like to see concrete evidence of this.
No you can't. If anyone takes your opinion as "offensive," your post will be deleted. Seriously. One time, I said that I don't believe dolls have souls and I don't agree with it and it was deleted because someone got offended. You are not allowed to have your own thoughts at that ******** place, unless you go along with the retarded majority.

Amazingly, not everyone on DoD is hateful or there to constantly bash.. if bash at all. I think altogether I've said 3 things that MAY be considered offensive to people and you'd really have to be overly sensitive to be offended by one or two of those 3 things.

I have no real problem with Den Of Angels. I just.. don't talk much there, especially since some of the times I did I've gotten ignored. I appreciate all the information and everything on DoA but I also feel more at home actually posting on Den of Demons because I don't have to keep in mind 28 rules, a terms of service, and 8-10 guidelines per board like on DoA. I also just don't have the energy to do so. While I know that DoA isn't superbly strict about their rules, I still would rather not look like a jerk because omg, I should have used search and broke rule 11 or something of the sort. So I leave my chatting to DoD. 3nodding

It amuses me how many people lump everyone on DoD and on DoA together like everyone on DoD is hateful bashers and everyone on DoA is elitist or what have you. I've seen loyalists of DoA offend me more with some of the things they've said about DoD honestly. But hey, if that's how they feel and what they think, more power to them. heart

Den of Demons (no I will never call it DoD, although I am far from being a Dream of Doll fan, they had the name acronym first and do not deserve to have it tarnished this way) is quite possibly the most immature forum I have ever had the displeasure of viewing. It is a sad, sad attempt at an alternative doll forum like Controversial Dolls. It thrives on and breeds hatred and intolerance, and I do not see why anyone feels they can justify its existence. The dolls are not yours, they are not being forced onto you, there is no reason to criticize something that is not harming you and is loved dearly by another human being. I am an ardent supporter of Controversial Dolls because although we have one area for snark, it is not senseless, inane hatred, and we never name names or steal photos. Kiriko created a haven where mature doll owners can share their R/NC17 rated thoughts and images without jeopardising the safety of Den of Angels. Aimee did not force mature content off the site with malicious intent. Den of Demons, however, was spawned out of jealousy and misunderstanding of Aimee, her forum, and all of the beautiful dolls and loving owners on it. I hope that Den of Demons will disappear soon and take all of its puerility and bitterness with it.

BJD are an art for and are absolutely open to criticism. biggrin Sorry, but it's true.

DoD 'thrives and breeds' hatred as much as DoA 'thrives and breeds' patronizing shallowness. Honestly, you are much worse than the people you are putting down if you truly believe that it's the community that makes the person. How egotistical is that? It's the people that make the community. While I continually hear how the mods and admin gave birth to the BJD community.. it's the countless owners and contributors that form the community. When their thoughts and beliefs are censored, they, as people, cant let the community speak for them anymore, and need to go elsewhere to seek release. It's absolutely healthy. I support DoD, and I stand by all my posts there. @_@ If you use them to judge me.. that's up to you. I respect my thoughts and beliefs, and love both DoA and DoD for different reasons. After all, different aspects of my personality fit into both communities. Neither mold me.

I was introduced to dolls by a dear friend and then joined an old Yahoo! group called "Pretty Dolls Make Graves" *momentarily loves on the play on The Smiths* untill it closed so I guess I didn't find out by DoA but I've learned a lot about different companies and information through them. I think that a lot of the rules and "don't say this, don't say that or you'll be stopped" attitude were set partly to keep the place friendly since there are SO MANY people there and it's an attempt to make the place all-user friendly. That does hinder things but it's for the best interest of the vast array of people that view it. As for Aimee, I don't know her personally and have hardly viewed any threads where she's posted so I can't pass any judgement on her as a person or anything of the sort. It just seems to me that she's trying to be organized as a mod and wants the forum to be OK for everyone. It's just a shame it can't be as open and frank as it could be for the sake of the masses.

And Den of Demons...well..that place is just a whole lot of fun to chat in since it's no-holds-barred. There's bashing and complaining but there are people capable of holding a decent conversation as well as the opportunity to give an honest opinion that might rub someone the wrong way but maybe should be said. I can see this place as a good forum for critiques and asking opinions. (while I'm at it, I might as well plug http://perle-noire.net/bjd/index too. It needs to grow! Take your critique work and advice there too!) Yeah so there's stupid people that just want to flame, flame, flame...but the good thing is you can tell them they're being morons if you want! biggrin After the innitial rush of settling in and complaining about DoA, plenty good threads of conversation have popped up. Love. Period.

Since there seems to be a lack of ability to create a happy medium, I'm perfectly happy having both forums to peruse. heart

I actually joined this guild because I found a thread on DODemons linking to it.

I joined DOAngels and DODemons at the same time, not even a week ago. So far I like both of them, but DODemons seems more Gaia-esque to me. Perhaps because I hang out in the GD here a lot (where, remember, most users are reputed to be gigantic bitches).

Me, I like Den of Demons. I feel like I can reall have a lot of fun there, without having to worry about drama and censorship. I can be as silly as I want, I can be as weird as I want, and I can say what I want without having to worry about a mod chastising me or whatever. I've made more frinds and connections there than DoA, and I have an enormous amount of respect for my fellow members because by and large, they are strong and independently minded people. Also, with being able to be so free with what we discuss, it's loads easier to keep drama to a minimum because we deal with the problems we might have with eachother without letting them fester under caked on saccarine s**t.

As for the bashers, why don't you take a look DoD? Based on your conclusions it's clear you haven't. We're one big happy party, believe it or not!

Nope. It keeps popping up with "yhalothar.com" could not be found, or something. It probably has something to do with my firewall, or Mozilla Firefox is blocking it, or something, but I have no idea how to fix it! Its only been doing this since I got my computer back from the repair guy last week. sweatdrop

I dont like Den of Devils to much. Most of the time they are just rude. Yes I love Volks dolls and I dont think I will ever own any other kind of Korean doll doesnt make me a Volks Elitist. I just prefer the look of Volks then to Luts or some place like that.
