Chaonis was getting tired of a street lamp getting the better of him. He looked at Maia, nodding his head. She wanted a distraction? He'd give it a distraction.
Using his powered up attack, since it hadn't yet ended and he had some strength left in him to get what he needed done, he opted to try an old school way of getting its attention.
What did punk kids with too much time on their hands do to street lamps? They threw rocks.
Punching at the ground a few times, though it ended up hurting his fist quite badly, he pulled loosened and broke the pavement enough to have a few chunks at his disposal. He grabbed one in each hand and, spotting the momentarily lighted enemy, started to throw them at it.
"How do you like that, you stupid light?! Let's see how good you are without that bulb, huh?" He taunted, though he wasn't sure it was smart enough to understand him. "When I'm done with ya you won't even be good enough to lean on!"

Maia stopped just a few feet behind Chaonis and her nearly dropped open when she saw him literally break up the asphalt, grabbing chunks in his hands. She did not have time to think about it as Chaonis was shouting at the youma and it was hopping right toward the boy.
Closing her eyes she took a deep breath and waited. The youma need to be a little bit closer, just a couple more hops and it would be right where she need it to be closer. She stood poised ready to attack as the youma hopped closer.
Thump, thump, thump. Then a blinding flash of light flashed out aimed for Chaonis, causing Maia eyes to shot open. The ground was on fire, but Maia did not think about it.
"Sweet Harmony," she called in a sing songy manner allowing the music to fill every inch of her. The notes pours from her lips, sounding as lovely as always. Beautiful opaque, rainbow colored music notes started to appear in the air and head for the youma, which had turned its attention to the singing girl. It was coming for her, but that was a good thing.
The notes circled around the youma, bursting against it and causing the thing to straighten.
Flash, the lamp posts fire spilled out of the youma, just before Maia's attack fully took affect. The youma went stark still appearing just the same as any lamp post on the parking lot, light on, a moment of normality. However, the flame it admitted seconds before caught the front of Maia's fuku.
She was on fire again and attempting to pat out the flames, while shouting, "Don't let it fool you, break the light Chaonis, you only have a minute!"
With the Maia dropped rolling about the ground to put out the flames that were eating the front of her fuku.

If there was one thing Chaonis was good at, at least, it was causing a scene. So being a distraction wasn't the hardest thing he had ever been told to do. He watched as the youma responded, eyes narrowing when a blinding flash hit him. Pulling back, arm over his eyes, he cursed and started to move his feet: he knew that an attack was coming his way, and if he didn't get out of there he was going to burn.
He just couldn't see.
He felt the heat of the flames on his legs, and he hit the ground and rolled. Kicking his feet in panic, he managed to put out the flames before any real damage was done. It was a very good thing he had such padded armaments in his senshi uniform.
He opened his eyes, wincing as his vision slowly restored itself. Chaonis watched as Maia used her attack, glad for the help, and that she had been able to pull it off. At her yell he nodded, shoving himself up from the ground to his feet and charging. One more attack.
The ground was starting to shake, and he knew his energy was about to dispel itself. No no no! he thought, leaping and slamming his fist into the light. It shattered, and a large crack split open the earth underneath their feet, spreading across the parking lot. It was creating sink holes, but at least the youma was dead.

Maia looked up to see Chaonis shatter the youma's light and the youma as well. The ground was shaking and then it literally opened up. It was amazing and totally distructive, but Maia was in awe. This senshi, pretty much had a ton of raw power.
Maia stood looking down at her fuku, frowning intensely and trying not to cry. Her fuku was not padded like Chaonis' and she stood, her skirt tattered and mostly missing, sleeve sporting very large holes, slightly red skin visible beneath. The middle had very large holes and her bow was a tattered mess. Despite winning she looked and felt completely dejected.
Maia head rose up at the sound of police sirens, grabbed her attention and made her heart race. She grabbed Chaonis hand and pulled. "We have to get out of here," she shouted.
She did not want to look back at the mall. She did not want to see the damage that most likely been done to the building. Right now, she just wanted to run and not to be caught by the police. She would rather not have to attack civilians.

Chaonis grinned triumphantly, looking back to see Maia running up to him. He thought it was to reflect on how awesome he had been, and for him to admit that they had at least worked well together at the end there, but instead she just grabbed his hand and pulled him off balance.
"Whoa!" he managed, stumbling after her as they ran away from the mall. He heard the sirens that had started her running, and understood her haste now. Cops weren't exactly Senshi friendly.
This would mark the second time that Chaonis had done some considerable damage to the mall. Whoops.
He hurried with her, noting that she looked burned and in a mess. He knew he was, too, but at least his out fit was thick and more durable for things like this. He almost felt bad for her.
Almost.
"You okay?" he asked, above the sound of their plodding feet as they ran. Once they were far enough he slowed, ducking down an alley way with her.

Maia shook her head at the question of being okay. Her adrenaline was starting to wane which meant she hurt all over. It was like she had rather severe sunburn all over. After being pulled into the alley she practically collapsed. She wanted to henshin down, but she was in the presence of another senshi and she knew the added fabric would irritate her burned skin.
She looked up at Chaonis and smiled attempting to stand. "I will be fine," she said softly before flashing a big grin.
"That was amazing though. I have never seen a senshi with an attack like that. It is amazing, though it looks dangerous. Thanks for killing the youma. We made a good team, little shaky at the start, but a great finish. Don't you think."
Maia gave a light laugh, even though she felt like groaning. She would be having one heck of a long ice bath when she got home.

Chaonis grinned, then shook his head and shrugged in as nonchalant a manner as he could. He was still breathing hard, but he was trying to look very relaxed. It wasn't working, as relaxed people tended not to be panting for breath.
"I am the Senshi of Danger," he pointed out, when he said his attack was dangerous. And of course, it aptly was. But at least it had worked out for them this time. He hadn't hurt her, or himself, and the youma was dead. All in all, a good night, though he was sure they would both be feeling the fight the next day.
He was going to lock himself in his bedroom, which used to be Tony's but had since been hijacked.
At least they were all in one piece, and the mall was still standing. AS far as he knew, anyway. He grinned, laughing, then offered her his hand. "Alright, Maia," he got her name right that time, maybe as a truce offer, "it was fun working with you, but I think I'm gonna split. You said you're okay, yeah? Can make it home okay?"

Maia reached out, took Chaonis hand, and shook.
"Yes Chaonis, I will be fine to get home. A little sunburn will not get me bent out of shape. It was fun working with you too," she said before turning to head off. Suddenly she remembered her cellphone, summoned it and turned back around.
"Wait," she said opening it up and pressing a few buttons. She held it up to Chaonis and pushed scan, uploading the boys senshi number into her phone. "There now I have your senshi number."
Maia grinned think it was most certainly a useful number to have if she was ever in a jam. The senshi of danger, might very well become a senshi to be reckoned with.
She turned and headed off once more. Time to find to find a place to dehenshin and get to her brother. She was in for a pain couple of days while her skin healed and a worry wart brother bothering her about maybe not patrolling so often. She secretly thought he just did not want to keep refilling the medical box.

Chaonis grinned, letting her get his number. He nodded. "You need me, just call me. But not for anything stupid: I'm not going to open any jars of pickles for you or something."
He watched her go, then sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. He was going to be very sore. Huffing, he walked off in the opposite direction, back toward the apartment Tony kept.
There was food there. A comfortable bed. Ice.
Chaonis was looking forward to it. He powered down when he found a nice, private place to do it, and walked the rest of the way home. Tony was asleep on the couch, and Nate did nothing to be quiet about coming home. He slammed the door and Tony fell off the sofa, saw his son go into the bedroom, and sighed.
Just another night at the Darrow residence.
