Misti ran and ran, her muscles tender and aching, her heart pounding so hard in her chest she was sure it would break free at any moment. She was starting to give up hope when she saw a familar shape in the distance joined with the blue hair and black and sparkly white fur.... Chandra!
The look on Chandra's face took Misti by suprise. The other mare looked utterly exhausted.

Kimi clucked her lips as she took chase, exhilerated and simply more detemined to make this pathetic creature her dinner.
The muscles in her legs ached with use and part of Kimi wasn't sure if she could keep up the pace as a horse.... she was tempted to shift again, and had it not been obvious that the green mare before he was also starting to wane and slow down Kimi probably would have!
A chuckle escaped her as she lunged herself forward with as much force as she could muster!
Yet, midair she saw what had caused the green mare to stop..... Chandra had returned.
Forced to change direction she landed with a graceful 'thud' that probably shouldn't belong to a skinwalker such as Kimi. Her eyes angrily assessed the new situation. Both Chandra and the green mare looked exhuasted..... maybe she could make both of them lunch?! The idea was so thrilling that it took all of Kimis will power not to throw herself at them.
"You will both be mine...." She said with a lick of lips.

Chandra cursed under her breath as she watched Kimi and Misti both come into view. Misti looked so disheartened and exhausted that it nearly broke her heart, she had no energy to spur the older mare on, all she could do was offer a small smile and then stand between her and Kimi. If someone had to lose their life today Chandra would ensure it was her..... Misti would not be harmed, it was her duty as her fathers daughter to protect every member of the Miakoda herd. And Kimi was definatly a threat to every member, it was a wonder her father had allowed her to live.
"Think again," Said Chandra with all the arrogance she could muster despite her exhaustion. To show weakness now would likely be the death of them both.
She glanced over her shoulder at Misti and mouthed the words 'run while I distract her', but when the other mare shook her head Chandra wondered if she had simply misunderstood. Repeating the words she recieved the same reaction... why wouldn't Misti leave? Save herself?
All too aware of Kimi and her muderous intent Chandra turned back swiftly, eyes focused on the beast and showing no fear -a technique her father had taught her.
"Leave Kimi... NOW!! Or my father, your brother, will destroy you for this! See reason...!" Ok, so it was a long shot that Kimi would listen but she had to try, both mares were far too exhausted to out run the beast for long... especially since Kimi didn't even seem to have broken a sweat.

Misti moved behind Chandra, panting and exhausted beyond belief. She knew it was wrong to rely on the other mare so... but they where herd, friends, family... and as such they relied on each other, supported and protected. And right now Chandra seemed in a better state than Misti, her mind more clear and her words still managing to be formed. It was because of all that, that Misti decided to put her faith into Chandra, she was after all the daughter of Maion -the herd protector- surely she had picked up some tricks from her parents?
Panting Misti did her best to keep standing, although she was relying on Chandra to support and help her, Misti had no intention of abadoning her friend. She could never forgive herself for such an action.
Instead she listened and waited.

Kimi hissed and paused in her tracks at the mention of her brother. "Maion..." she said, spitting the word out and looking around just incase he was lurking near by, they where getting closer to the Miakoda herd lands now; and after recent events Kimi was very aware of the consquences of crossing the boarder. Last time she had brought Dardanos with her.... suprised the herd and attacked them, if it had not been for their sheer number they would have all fallen below Kimi's pawed feet. But she had a plan, her lips curved into a smile as she remembered the fight she and Dardanos had had afterwards. He had been mad at their failure.... but after her suggestion, a suggestions that would increase both their strength and the number of their race he had left smiling. Kimi would mate with Dardanos, and then use her children to destroy the Miakoda herd.
Food enough for all.
She licked her lips, wondering if she should be patient and wait for the blessed day her plan formed... or if she should deal a mighty blow against her brother her and now. He would be deverstated by his daughter and herdmates death, especially by her paws.... she even imagined him banning them all from leaving the herd lands in fear of the big bad skinwalker. She licked her lips again, anticipation an ever present beast calling to her. What was food in the possible future in comparison to food now? Nothing!! The thought alone would not keep her fed.
She would kill them... as planned. She snarlled and hissed as she spoke, "That pathetic excuse for a stallion will not save you now! You're both MINE!"
Enough talking!! Kimi lunged forward, paws at the ready.
