So the guy wasn't on his own... Or she could be another Angeni randomly grouping together on this fiiine night but what were the odds? She was startlingly pretty though and he took a moment to admire the ribbons and shiny accessories that she wore. She had a more cute appealing side than anything else but nothing in comparison to Sato... Disregarding, he grabbed his chance. He flashed the girl angeni a charming, welcoming smile.
"Not at all." He bowed his head. "Nice to meet'cha Alice. My names Zeeke and this is, Sato." He looked over at Sato briefly as she stood by the tall male putting emphasis on her name; flicking his tail to the side in a gentle sweep then looking back at Alice and showing her she had his full attention as his dark orbs wandered across her eyes. He managed to catch the stallions stare as it flooded over his girls body. It sickened him but he was too stubborn to give in to what had turned in to a mini game.
At least it was in his head, he was trying to bite her back. For one silly reason or another...

Sato had gritted her teeth at the way that Zeeke had introduced her, part of her knew she deserved it, that she had done the same to Zeeke.... but it hurt. She wanted to walk over him and bite him! He wanted play? Sato really didn't know if she had it in her to play such a cruel game, but the way he had turned to looked and focus on Alice made her skin crawl. Part of her started wondering if he would prefer an angeni? She could never change her breed, she would forever be a Kirinwind, and she had always been happy about that... except in this moment. In this moment she wanted to be whatever Zeeke wanted her to be.
She let out a sigh, fighting the urge to go to him. She tried to talk to the pair of angenis before her, unsure if they where a couple or siblings... they looked very much alike with their white pelts with a hint of black. The male had lots of scars covering his body and if she hadn't been staring at him intently to prevent herself from looking at Zeeke she would probably have never seen them.... she took a moment to consider what could possibly have caused them. They looked like.... surely not? Teeth marks? That scared her a little and she took a step back, trying to make her reaction seem less obvious she said, "What brings you both here?"
Her tail was figiting from side to side, why did she have to be so stubborn? Why couldn't she just go to him and get the comfort she needed so? She kept a smile on her face, sure that bar her step back no one would have noticed her sudden discomfort.

Alice smiled at Zeeke as he spoke, "Zeeke," she said as she looked to Sato and said her name also, "Sato, both very pretty names". Turning her attention back to Zeeke with a sweet smile she answered Sato's question. Something told her she needed to keep her attention on Zeeke, ignore the fact that Sato had stepped away from Jasper. "We were just walking.... you?"

Again Jasper allowed Alice to speak, but he could feel the tension between the two strangers and it brought a smile to his face. Unable to stop himself he tried to sooth their emotions and relax them. An action that probably would have been pointless after the words he was about to say sank in, he just couldn't resist, "Why don't you two just kiss and make up?" He flashed his fangs in a smile as he watched Sato. He made no effort to close the gap, if she needed room he would give it... the fact it would make her less of a temptation was just a bonus. He decided to taunt them some more as his gaze shifted to Zeeke, "Or have I got the wrong idea? If so...." He looked back to Sato suggestively.
If Alice wanted him to play her little game he would, she had said they where going to help them... surely this was what she had meant?

Wait! Never mind him why was she looking at him like that!? So much for ' oooh stay with me Zeeke.' he felt glum as he remembered the scene, it played out so perfectly. Butterflies fluttered in his heart and he directed his gaze to the side, hurt. Though, he knew he had to focus on Alice, show Sato that he wasn't bothered about the way she acted around other guys. Even if she wanted them or not... He knew he had to trust her but right now, he'd lost his self control he didn't know how.
He smiled at Alice as she kept her eyes on him, her attention clear. His name didn't roll as freely as it did on her tongue. Figures. He was helpless somehow but, he did perk up at the sound of his name, somehow a hell of a lot. He felt mellow. "Just walking? Awwh you tw-" His glare shot daringly at Jasper as he spoke, instantly bringing his placid acting done to a short fuse. The way he acted towards her. He couldn't take it but, he knew there was nothing he could do, or there was anything to actually do about it. He shook his head. There was only one solution!
"Be careful there pretty boy, shes a mean one, if you get what I mean." He winked, a grin formed in a playful way as he strutted right up to Alice and around her, letting Sato think that, he wasn't really too bothered and interested when he knew he shouldn't be forcing this on her, if she did care as much as she said. His heart was trying to follow his instincts when all it really wanted was... His one winged Angel.
"It's not fair only one gets all the attention, is it now?" He looked at Alice, a smirk a long his maw.

Sato froze with Jaspers words and then his sudden intense gaze... if that hadn't been enough to make her feel uneasy then Zeekes actions sent her over the egde. She felt her heart racing at a pace that shouldn't have been possible... was he.... really? She stared at him, helpless and unable to stop him. Maybe she had been right after all, he wanted an Angeni... one of his own kind. His own kind. Those three little worlds echoed and rattled in her head until she felt sick to her stomach. She couldn't compete with that. She wouldn't....
In that moment she felt her heart break, she didn't want to play this game. She had only tried to be friendly, she didn't even understand what it was between her and Zeeke... and now she never would. It was obvious that she had read more into it than there was. She couldn't breath, she felt her wings drop as she gave up trying to hold them up, her broken one hung at a strange angle.
Unable to think. Feeling trapped. Alone.... how could she feel so alone when she was surrounded by three other people? But they where all 'His own kind'... she was the odd one out. She didn't belong here. She should have stayed at home.
Looking up she took one last look at Zeeke, tears filling her eyes that she made no attempt to hide as they ran tracks of moisture down her cheeks. She had been so stupid, so niave to ever think that she could have found... found... found... the one. It had been too easy. No wonder her father cried himself to sleep at the loss of her mother.... she should have known better.
Unable to take any more she turned away from them all without a word and started to walk away from them.
The tears flooded down her cheeks easily now though she did her best to keep the sound in check, she had not been able to stop the tears but she would not shame herself futher.
She just walked in silence.

Jasper knew the moment he had said the words that he had pushed too hard, he looked to Alice his eyes almost pleaded for her to fix the mess he had caused. Sato was walking away, there had been so much betrayal and hurt in her eyes that he hadn't been able to calm her by simply willing it. The emotion was too raw.
Jasper looked at Zeeke and said truthfully, "She doesn't seem so mean to me."

Alice felt her heart thump harder in her chest, had they made a mistake? Or was this the way it was meant to happen? She knew that by seeing the future she always risked the chance of changing it without meaning to but she had been so sure that Sato and Zeeke where destined together. Without speaking she took a step closer to Jasper and kissed him softly on the cheek before looking at Zeeke. There was nothing they could do now... it was all up to this young stallion.

Zeeke had fallen in to a trap. He never, ever wanted to see that look on her again. Of being so hurt, he could see the pieces tearing at the seems in her eyes and over this, he refused to lose her. He was so stupid. Such a god damn jerk! He took it too far and he should of known not to toy with her feelings like that but, he felt that she had done the same to him somehow yet... What was she doing other than saying a friendly hello? He had caused the awkwardness from the start. He felt pathetic and when the mysterious stranger kissed the male angeni on the cheek. He got the picture.
He wanted to throw himself at a rock really hard right about now before Sato managed to fall completely out of view, he pushed hard against the ground in to a full blown canter to catch up with her, coming to a skid as he flew across the dirt, scoring it with his hooves and spun till he was in her way. Eyes falling, ill at her sight. She was so broken and he had done that to her. He could feel fear whacking him, stabbing him in the chest.
Her tears killed him as much as they had betrayed her. He looked her in the eyes, feeling something merging up in his but he wouldn't believe it. He wouldn't agree that he was crying for her, that he wanted to but he did... In that one moment back with the other angeni's he felt like nothing without her by his side. He was just a knucklehead in a heystack whereas to Sato. He was full of life, she saw him in a light no other could. He pushed his muzzle towards her, to whipe away at her tears. Ears pinned back against his head.
"I'Im sorry. I'm an idiot. A jerk. I'm just... Not worth while."
Those words, he ate and swallowed hard. She really was too good for him. At the thought of losing her forever, of making such an amateurs mistake he was on the verge of begging. "I need you, Sato- I lo-"
He what? He was strapped to the spot. Mouth frozen in mid sentence. He loved her? He looked away from her, not so sure if to continue or not. Everything else other than his common sense screamed that he did. He really did love her, didn't he?
"Please don't go... I'm nothing..." He whispered, closing his eyes as he hung his head. "Without you."

Sato had never felt as defeated as she was right now, she walked and walked, trying her best to keep her head held high despite the fact she could litterally feel her heart breaking. She wondered if she had caused this, after all she had shhed him with a look.... he had changed.... how could she? NO! A voice screamed in her head, she couldn't blaim herself for this.... even if she couldn't completely bring herself to blaim him.
In the distance, a place that felt like a different world, she was aware of the sound of hooves impacting with dirt. Something was moving fast and determinded towards her, of that she was sure.... so be it, she though. Let whatever evil that lived in this world have her, she didn't want to think about it anymore. At least in death the pain would go away.
The last thing she had ever expected to see was Zeeke. She froze to the spot and simply watched him. She couldn't speak, couldn't moved, couldn't react.... what should she do? Oh if only she could fly! If only she could move faster than him... but that was a pointless hope. Everyone knew that the Angeni where the strongest and fasterest of the purer races.... they even had the strength to fight a pure skinwalker and live, something a mere kirinwind could never do.
She looked at him. Took the time to really look at him... did he really come here for here?
Then she saw something.... tears?
TEARS?? Was he crying? Why was he crying? She felt guilty for making him cry, this strong elegant creature with power in every muscle and inche of him. How had she made him cry?
Listening to his words she wasn't sure what to do or say, she knew she couldn't just forgive him so easily... part of her was too hurt to do that. But she wanted to try... "I..." She hesitated, frustration riddled on her face as she closed her eyes and looked to the ground.
Then he spoke again... but stopped. 'I lo' What was I lo? "Zeeke.... you're...." She started, the tears had nearly stopped now but she was unable focus. Her mind was so confused, so mixed up.... why was he here? Didn't he want his perfect angeni female? She wasn't perfect... she wasn't an Angeni.
Yet his words affected her. And the truth was she was here and not with Jasper and Alice. Opening her eyes she looked up at him. Trying desperatly to think. Finally she knew what she wanted to say.... but would she have the courage?
Not allowing herself time to hesitate or shy away she went straight to it, "Zeeke... you are not worthless. You are something. Something special... I had hoped..." She was going to stop but refused to let it happen, she had to finished... had to! "I had hoped there was something between us... I... want you Zeeke. No one but you... I...I..." She closed her eyes as tightly as she could as she spoke the one truth she had been trying to hide from even herself, "I love you."
The pain of his actions still stung but she was trying to focus of the positives... he was here. He was trying.....

He lifted his head with eyes as wide as dish plates, her words sank in. He knew, in them there was hurt, there was anger, that she didn't know what to do with him but, she loved him. She said it. She really did just want him? Now he felt that pang of guilt, like she had every time family had come in to the equation or how he called her princess. A sigh left his lips as he walked closer, resting his cheek next to her.
"I love you too, Sato."
He admitted, with more feeling put in to them than he ever had before. He looked at her, with praise and consideration. "I guess I just get jealous too easily. When theres no need to be." He shrugged his shoulders lightly, even when the situation was so breaking, so fragile, so weak. If this was love why did it feel like it was shattering?
"I thought you wanted him, it hurt me the way he looked at you, the way you studied him and I panicked. I thought I'd lost you. The one perfect amazing thing that's ever been in my life. I wasn't ready for you to go. I knew I'd never be."
He had a careful smile, a loving one at her own words, they were still ringing through his ears. He had never been good with attention. Having a small attention span and all but, with her everything was unique special. There was no unnecessary things they all meant something and, she didn't lie to him. So where had this uneasiness come from. He shook his head, he really was still just a kid, they both were.
He grinned, surprisingly. With all the mixed emotions, it was all he could bring himself to do.
"You can hit me if you want." He laughed lightly. "I'll follow you until you forgive me, even if it takes forever and even then. I'll still be following you... I always will. Your... The only thing that matters."
His words cut to a loss, he could of spoke forever and said everything, confessed everything but, would she really want to stay with someone who's emotions were so fickle? He stepped out of her way. If she wanted to go he wouldn't stop her. He just knew, they would never be able to recover their hearts again if she did. His heart was pounding, throbbing it yearned for her touch, for her smile. Just for her...

Sato felt her heartbreaking again, but this time it was different. She stared unbelievingly at him for a long time, listening to each of his words, running them through her mind to make sure she understood him. Unable to stop herself at his proclaimation that he too loved her she burst out asking, "You do?" She knew her expression was slightly shocked as she watched him but she didn't move her head away from his. The warmth from his cheek radiating through her and just like that her sences where alert and tingling.
But when he admitted that that he had been jealous she felt something loosen within her, so he had simply been trying to make her feel jealous as well? She knew she should have been angry at him, knew he would have accepted her anger... but... she couldn't bring herself to do it. She tried to smile at him, hoping it would appear sincere despite the fact she was still hurting.
"Want him?" She shook her head, "He... he..." She paused for a moment and looked away from him, she was rather embarassed about what she was about to admit. Surely Zeeke had seen her step away from him? Or was he too blinded by his jealousy to notice that? Sighing softly she continued, "He scared me Zeeke, thats why I stood back.... he had.... scars riddling his body.... they looked like teeth marks. I was only trying to be friendly Zeeke.... the way I was brought up. Sorry." The last word came out mummbled, she really did feel ashamed for her actions. After all, Jasper had done nothing to deserve such a responce from her -he couldn't help his scars. Yet at the same time she knew that the other angeni had been different to Zeeke, Zeeke was.... cuteness, warmth and play most of the time. That was what she had fallen for. But surely, if she really did love him -and Sato knew she did- then surely she loved all of him. Everything, good and bad.
She melted a little when he said she could hit him, a natural smile covering her lips as she looked up at him. His face not too far away from hers, the warmth of his breath licking delicately across her skin. She bumped her head into his. "There....!" she said playfully. Sato could still feel the dark emotions swirling within her but she was trying.... trying to see the kindness that was Zeeke. Part of her knew that he had been acting out of impulse, he was simply trying to protect himself, and for that she couldn't blaim him.
After a moments pause she said, "Don't do it again!" And with that she nipped and tugged gently on his hair before adding, "I don't want you to leave Zeeke." The words where no more than a whisper, a near illusion that was carried by the wind but they where true. No matter how hurt she felt she didn't want to lose him. That was why when he moved away from her and out of her way she made no effort to move forward, she just simply stood still and turned her head to face him.
Silence, Sato was use to silence... just not around Zeeke. There was something in the silence that unsettled, at times they had a comrades silence -comfortable and natural- but this was different. Her hairs stood up in alert as she watched him. Why was everything so hard? Why was love full of hurt and pain? Why did jealousy sprout so easily? Why did they ever have to meet those two Angenis? WHY? There was however one possitive that had been born from this heartbreaking situation -she now knew without a doubt, that Zeeke loved her.
Unsure what to say or do, she simply gave him a soft sweet smile before inquiring, "Eden?"

So she was scared of him? Well, shame on him for not realizing it. If he'd of known he would of stayed by her but, the way she had greeted him didn't look like she was scared to him. He thought she was getting a long great with the pretty boy. Guess he had to start paying closer attention but after she shusshed him. What was he supposed to do?
A chuckle escaped his lips as she bumped heads with him, he was careful to keep an eye on her horn, but his eyes now held a brighter spark. Enjoying the fact he cheered her up even a little. The tears had faded a short while ago, as things started to perk up and change from the once stuffy tension that clung to the air. Lastly she spoke of Eden and he nodded, lips turning in to grin.
"Yup, Eden." He turned to face in the right direction, making his way forward he paused and looked back at her, now with a welcoming smile. "It's this way." He had hoped things had helped bring them closer together but could they get any closer? To be honest, he felt like an idiot. Pouring all his emotions out on her. If the guys heard about this he would be laughing stock of the herd no doubt. He pouted inwardly, wondering if she thought he was a fool or... If she found it cute.
"I'm not waiting all day." He smirked, as he nudged his head forward signaling her to walk a head. He said he was going to follow her, now and forever so he better start getting to his promise. In any case, he knew those two angeni's had been there for a reason but he couldn't figure out what. All he knew and cared about was that, he still had Sato.

Sato relaxed as she saw Zeeke calm down and become more like... well, him. It actually helped her raging emotions, helped her to focus on the good rather than the bad. She looked in the direction he had indicated, it seemed her little 'detour' had taken them away from the direction they needed to be in. Typical, she was already feeling exhausted -though this time it was more emotionally drained than physically. Her wing however was still a constant throb, a constant reminder... and yet it was also a reminder of how she had met Zeeke. Their teasing and games... and of course his eventual saving her.
Focus on the Good.
She had been so consumed in her own mind that she didn't notice him already moving away from her until his words woke her from her daze. "Oh..." She blinked as if not believing he could possibly have moved without her noticing before sighing and simply trotting towards him. As she came closer she purposfully bumped into him on her good side, a quick wink... a silent challenge, before she started to run. Her muscles rippling with the trained freedom she loved so much. She loved running, the way the wind swept her hair around her head, and cooled her flesh with its gentle caress. She loved the way her heart pounded in a steady rhytm in her chest.
Turning she looked to see what Zeeke was doing. As the scene before her regisitered she took a moment to think... everything that had happened had done what for them? Brought them closer? Forced them to admit what they felt? Had it indeed helped them somehow? Part of her was secretly thankful for what had happened, despite the fact that he heart still stung with the aftermath of her 'betrayal', but she knew better than to hold it against Zeeke.
After all, Zeeke loved her. And she knew, now and forever... she would always love him too.
