He check the pie quickly, then seemed to settle down as the other rider remained calm. Maybe standing around, esply when Scarath was occupied with the other dragon, wasn't so bad.
"Sure am! I've never flown before. We'll finally be able to put all those drills to use." He'd wondered how they would differ from doing them on the ground. "How about you?" He leaned a hip on the counter near G'brel, so they could talk comfortably. He'd love to watch his bronze gliding over the Weyr and listening to his comments.
'Oh. I don't see a problem with that, but I will be happy to get into my own weyr. Then I can truely make the wallow mine.' He checked quickly on His, seeing that he was settling down.

There is much to look forward to, he replied to the bronze, speaking of growing in general this time. They had quite a few milestones left to hit.
"Shards yeah!" she replied, grin widening a touch as she once again shuffled the contents of the pan. "Been imagining this for Turns now. Of course, someone had to take his sweet time coming into the world and make me wait," the teen remarked playfully, glancing back at her blue.
How else am I to teach you patience? he replied easily, deciding to just go along with it for now. Although really, it wasn't as if he had had any control over when he was born. At any rate, you won't be waiting much longer. I will take you into the air with me soon enough. Flying was rather nice, but somehow it didn't seem quite complete with His stuck below on the ground.
"Yeah, yeah, I see how it is." The teen chuckled before turning her attention back to the bronzerider. "And once we master basic flight we'll start learning more aerial tricks and formations. That'll be fun." Especially for her, as her blue Lifth would be much more agile in the air than bronze Scarath.

He grinned. "Do you think you're imagination is where close?" The furthest his imagination had gone was riding his stallion and trading with spices. He knew nothing he dreamed up for flying would come close. A fond glance toward the bronze that picked him brought a small smile to his lips. Had Scarath waited until he specifically knew a certain trader would be in the stands? It was an amusing thought for sure.
"He giving you backlip?" It seemed each dragon has his, or her, own quirk. "Exactly. Pattern drills are on thing on the ground. I have a feeling they're going to be slightly more complicated once we get into the air. I hope they have a couple experienced riders watching." Maybe it was foolish or unnecessary for that much protection, but S'kor could see how easily it could go wrong.
'Yes. There is flying with Ours, then making sure we've learned formation flying, and of course our own weyrs, after that we need to learn flaming.' He rumbled loudly at that last. Scarath was looking forward to that and knew His was as well.

"Probably not," she replied when asked about her imagination. "But that only means the real thing will be that much more exciting, right?" Lifth had subtly 'offered' to show her his point of view from the air once before, but she had declined on the matter. As awesome as it would have been to see through his eyes, she'd much rather experience flying for herself first. Then maybe she'd ask him to show her what he saw.
"Not quite backlip," she replied with a smile. "But yeah, doing the drills in the air will be more challenging likely. For one thing we won't have a constant level that we are all flying on. That allows for more complicated things to be done in the air later, but we'll all get through it in time." It helped quite a bit that Lifth was pretty good at remembering the drills given to them.
There is also going Between, Lifth added as a reminder. That would be a nice milestone to pass, simply so he and His could go wherever they wished.

"Certainly." He paused. What more could he say about it? To cover, S'kor went to check on his pie. Nearly there.
Turning back politely as she resumed talking. "Simply adding up and down will make anything more challenging." He chuckled softly. "I worry that someone wont stay on their level and crash into someone else. Maybe its a foolish worry with the dragons, I donno.
'Yes, yes. That is important too.' Every dragon had to be able to go between didn't they?

"Nah, it's a legitimate worry, although if it makes you feel any better I've never actually seen any dragons crash," she replied. Food finished by this point, G'brel removed the pan from the fire and placed it down on a piece of cloth on the counter. "Hm, now just to grab a bowl..." she muttered to herself, looking about for the dishes. "Ah, would you like some, S'kor? I've made a bit much to eat on my own, and Lifth isn't too inclined toward human food."
Shall I request the extra for you? Lifth asked, glancing over at the bronze beside him. He had offered it to Scarath earlier, but hadn't mentioned this fact to His yet. He would leave it up to the bronze and his rider on who received the extra.

"That is reassuring then. I guess we'll understand better when we start flying ourselves." Now he was looking forward to the riding lessons. For a moment he wondered who would teach that.
His mind got yanked back by a short leash. "Hm what? Oh yes." S'kor flushed a moment for getting distracted. It took a moment between when he heard and when he understood her question. "If you have no other intention for it, then yes. I will try some." He grinned. "If Scarath leaves any of the pie you'd be welcomed to taste that in return."
Scarath lifted his head and looked with fondness on the blue. 'Yes I would like that.' He had not wanted to ask for it specifically, but the smell was driving him wild with curiousness. The bronze turned a haughty eye upon his rider. 'Mine, I do not eat that much. You may take a slice for Lifth's rider and yourself.' It was a generous act. He knew His wanted to repay the blue's rider for offering to share. Besides, if he kept his happy, maybe they would meet and share again. There was always a chance.

"Nah, that's fine, I wouldn't want to take any of his pie," G'brel said with a smile as she grabbed two plates. "Thanks for the offer though."
Mine, I offered Scarath my portion earlier. Would you mind setting aside some for him to try?
Ah, sure. Though you probably should have mentioned that before I offered the food to his rider, she replied, going back for a third plate.
It was a spur of the moment decision on your part. There wasn't enough time to forewarn you, he replied simply before turning back to the bronze. Mine will separate some for you as well.
The blue rider began dividing up the portions between the three plates. "There we go. Hope it tastes alright." She probably should have taste-tested it before offering, but it looked like it came out well, so hopefully it would be alright.

He nodded. Though he wouldn't show it he was slightly disappointed she didn't want to try the pie. "You're welcome. Don't worry, he gets plenty. A couple slices wouldn't have bothered him." S'kor inclinded his head to the bronze. "If it helps, Scarath offered to share."
"I think it will taste fine. It certainly smells good." Grabbing a couple of stools to sit on, S'kor offered one to G'brel before settling himself onto the other.
Scarath shifted around to watch the distribution of the food with a critical eye. The tip of his tail twitched with eagerness to try something not made by his rider. 'Give Your's my thanks please Lifth. Mine, we can compare notes when we try it together.'

"Aw, that's so sweet," G'brel replied with a smile when S'kor said that Scarath had offered her a piece. "Well, perhaps I wouldn't mind a small taste. If Scarath still has no objections that is." The pie did smell rather good after all, and it was difficult to say no to freshly baked goods. She gave one plate to S'kor and carried the second over to Scarath before returning to sit at the offered stool with her own.
Scarath sends his thanks, Lifth told His as she sat down with the other rider. He eyed the plate that she had brought over their way, but more out of a vague curiosity than any real desire to try the food. Well? Is it edible by human standards?
Oi! I heard that! the bluerider replied silently. Of course, it didn't appear that her dragon had made any effort to hide the remark and even felt vaguely amused by her response. Wherry-butt.

"That's because he ate almost a full tray of sweets when he was a baby." He smirked at his dragon. As far as he was concerned, Scarath was the sweetest thing. "Nah, I'm sure he wouldn't." With a nod of thanks, he took the plate from G'brel and watched her give Scarath his share. When she came back to sit down he whispered over to her, "I bet he'll be talking about your cooking all night."
S'kor took a bite of her dish and slowly nodded his approval. It was good. "Hey you should have the cooks add this to our meals. I think it'd go over well." He finished his quickly, noting the flavor of the spices. Setting his plate down, he went to the oven and pulled out his pie.
With hot gloves to guard his hands, he carried it back to the table. S'kor quickly cut a couple of slices out of the pie and set them onto plates. "Feel free to pick one G'brel." On another plate the pie was arranged for Scarath and taken over to him. "Now be careful eating that. It's hot and will burn your tongue." His dragon pacified the rider returned to the table to try his pie.
Scarath crooned his thanks to Lifth's as she brought the plate over. Despite his eagerness to try he took his time over the place. Much to his rider's amusement, the bronze gently sniffed the food. Making comparisons of his rider's spices and what spices G'brel used. After that he delicately licked his plate clean and chewed slowly. He nodded politely as His brought over his promised pie. 'Thanks Mine. I'll be careful.'

"Psh, yeah right," she replied, though she ginned nonetheless. "You flatter me, but I don't quite think this is 'add to meal worthy'. Glad you like it though." She ate her portion contently as S'kor went to fetch his pie. "That smells wonderful." There was always something nice about freshly made good. They had a scent and taste like no other. "I'll try it after I finish with this then." Save the best for last after all, plus it would give the slice a chance to cool down.
Lifth assumed from the fact that Scarath cleaned his plate that, yes, the food had indeed been edible. Always a good thing to know. The blue drifted back off into his own thoughts as the bronze ate.

S'kor nodded seriously. "Oh he will. He'll keep me up all night if he could. One track mind that one." Even if his dragon tried to keep him up all night, S'kor was glad he had such an interest in food. Optheli had never shown as much interest in S'kor. He could never figure out why she picked spices in the first place.
"Oh? Why not G'brel?" He wondered what she had found wrong with her own cooking. "If I like it, so will others." He grinned, "Scarath thought so too, and seems we agree with him." S'kor nodded. "Sure, whenever you're ready."
Picking up a plate he took the first bite of pie and had to admit to himself that it was pretty good. Good thing you have a mind for remembering recipes eh? Otherwise I'd of embarrassed myself in front of G'brel.
Scarath eyed His critically. 'Mine, you would never embarrass Yourself or Me with your cooking. Yours makes good food Lifth. If she made other things, I would not mind sampling them if you didn't mind of course.' After all, G'brel was Lifth's and not His. Delicately he licked a piece of pie from the pan and crooned happily.

It wasn't that she found anything wrong with it, she just didn't think it that original or spectacular of a meal to warrant that. "Heh, well, only if your pie makes it onto the meal list as well. That really does smell wonderful."
Lifth was amused by Scarath's remark. Why would I mind? I'm sure she would be happy to share future meals as well. The blue was not particularly over-possessive of His. He didn't care if she chatted or interacted with other dragons or not (which was a good thing, cause she was very want to do so). At the end of the day His was still His, and he didn't feel the slightest bit bothered or threatened by 'sharing' her with anyone else.

'It is only polite to ask.' The bronze replied with dignity. He didn't want to create animosity with one who's rider might offer him more tidbits. 'Mine, I would like a bath and oiling now.' Scarath mentioned almost sheepishly.
S'kor gave a grin. "Oh I think they'd both be passable on the tables. Considering where Scarath heard it from, they may already be planning the pie for the tables. We'll see. Now you're plate is certainly worth mentioning to the chefs." He bestowed a wink on her that suggested he may well do that.
"Oh dear. I hate to cook and run, but it appears Scarath wants a bath now." He rose and picked up his plates to take to the wash station. "Please pardon my abrupt departure and feel free to eat the pie at your leisure." Dishes safely set down, S'kor afforded G'brel a polite bow. He signaled the bronze to join him and started out of the kitchens.
