Professor Kain nods her head. "Well there's one. I'll give the others maybe 5 or 10 mins. For now we can start with introductions."

*Looks around* I guess I'll go first. I'm Liviana. I'm a Ravenclaw, and a prefect. I like cats and tea. Earl Grey is the best.

"Thank you for sharing." She taps her fingers, looking through her attendance book. "Well, I am giving them at least 6pm central time to show up before they get a bad score. Until then, let's get class started."

 Professor Kain
She stands from her desk and walks over to the chalk board. Without touching the chalk, it moves on its own and begins to write on the board. "As suggested, we are starting with reading tea leaves. Which is actually quite simple, fun, and a good excuse to have tea. Before we begin doing hands on. I would like to talk about Tasseography, which is the term for tea leaf reading. The terms derive from the French word tasse (cup), which in turn derives from the cognate Arabic word tassa, and the Greek suffixes -graph (writing), -logy (study of), and -mancy (divination). Now, you don't necessarily need to use tea leaves. You can also use coffee grounds or wine sediments.
This practice started in Scotland, Ireland, and England where produced a number of practitioners and authors on the subject, and English potteries have crafted many elaborate tea cup sets specially designed and decorated to aid in fortune-telling. Cultures of the Middle East that practice divination in this fashion usually use left-over coffee grounds from Turkish coffee turned over onto a plate."

Professor Kain"Yes, this is quite interesting information. However, we will only be using tea leaves in this class." She walked back to head desk and picked up a box and placed it on her head. "I brought in a selection of tea since not everyone likes the same kind.
Anyway, on each table are tea pots, cups, saucers, and burners. The pots should already have water in them. Since for now it's just you and me. I'll help you since this requires a partner." She grabs the earl gray and walks towards the table. While the pot is on the stove or in this case, the burners, place the dry tea leaves onto the saucer and have the person you are reading stir them. Then the person puts them into the pot, doesn't matter how much. After it starts to steam, have the person pour the tea into the cup. Remember we are not using filters. Let it cool since the tea is more than likely boiling hot.
After that, have the person you will be reading sip the tea slowly while concentrating on a specific question, like something that's troubling him or her. You know, anything. Then tell him or her to leave a little bit of liquid left along with the tea leaves. You then take the cup, swirl the liquid around clockwise 3 times. At the same time, your right hand must remain ontop of the cup. If there's some shaking, it's ok. That's normal for beginners. And the 3 swirls, you look into the cup. This is were things can get tricky because there's so many things to look for when looking at the clumps of tea leaves, but we shall learn the basics.
Triangles mean good karma. Squares mean the need for caution. Circles mean success. Letters refer to names of friends or family. Number indicate spans of time like months or days.
Then there's so much complexity in this. You may look here for more information."
