User ImageMore people were raising their ideas of what they wanted their next move to be. One beorc suggested about the finance of weaponry (even though the tiger didn’t need them) when trying to resist them. Though the tiger wasn’t sure if the resistance needed more bloodshed, thanked to the war, he had to admit that they couldn’t win unarmed if battling against the army.

The bird laguz agreed with what the cyan-haired beorc said, but devised a more stealth tactic around. Rajin didn’t like the idea of sneaking around and gathering information. He felt that this would only prolong the action if they were to gather information. Sure, gathering information would give them the upper advantage and battle against them smartly, but there was one problem to that idea: time. They weren’t sure about the execution time. So even if they had the date of execution, did they need enough information in order to launch their plan?

“I agree with you about leaving the kid behind. He has nothing to do with that old goat.” Rajin commented to Annis. “But gathering information will take too long to act the plan. We don’t know when these folks get executed nor where this execution be held. Hell, I bet they might have already executed while we’re talking. I say we need to start making a plan immediately and take actions right now.”

Suddenly his ears twitched when he heard the swindler spoke. A single vein popped out as he turned his attention to the red-headed. Kitty Rapist?! Rajin thought angrily. How dared that b*****d call him that? Rajin wasn’t a rapist or a kitty (It was too bad he didn’t remember what happened during Valentine’s Day). That blasted swindler was going to get paid for calling him that, despite that the swordsmaster agreed with him. It seemed that the debt had been made double.

When the swordsmaster laid his plan, the tiger let out a growl. “Who the hell died and made you leader? If we have a man on the inside, there’s no way in hell they would have suspicion on the fellow if that guy knows how to act deceitful unless that guy sucks at fooling others like you. In case you didn’t notice, that old goat had already made the Watch and that guild disbanded, thanks to the trials he threw. Not only do you fail to see your flaw, but telling citizens not to attend to public execution will draw suspicion. There’s no way in hell it will look normal if there’s no citizens to attend the public execution. With no citizens, that b*****d will know it’s a trap. Sure, it will harm the citizens if we attack that old fart, but having no citizens will show that we’re onto them.”

“So you decided to have four groups to do three tasks? Swindler, you don’t know how to count. Not only do you not know how to count, but you also have no ******** idea how to make these tasks work. Hell, does anyone have a better idea than that idiot over there?!” Although Rajin could come up with the plan to have the resistance move, he was more of a fighter than a thinker. It was “fight first, ask questions later.” But even some fighters would have common sense if the plan was sounded stupid to do so.

Just then, he heard the door knocked. He turned his attention to the door, wondering who could it be. When the tiger saw it was one of the Guards, his gut made a sudden turn.

s**t. It looked like they were caught without even acting. Great, now they were in deep s**t.

-Ephraim-

Even the outburst of the new comer couldn't break Ephraim from his train of thoughts. The raven haired man had asked him about his plan to save Rath. Truth be told, that was a difficult situation that would take careful thinking. Assuming the soldiers escorting the ones to be executed are Learanians themselves, hurting or killing them was out of the question. If Rogvald wasn't the one escorting, they could perhaps surround them long enough to knock them out...or a decoy....unconciously, a slight 'hmm' escaped and he returned to his thinking pose. Joshua then spoke up of when the execution planned to take place. "The execution will most likely be a hanging in...public as you say" If Ephraim recalled, that was how they executed people in Magvel. It wasn't a pretty sight, but it was to show how shameful the hanged person was depending on the crime he or she had committed.

If they were going to follow up with the plan of separating the Advisor and the King from each other, then stealth would be required..however, none of the people around them were that much familiar with the shadows to begin with. It wasn't like they had much thieves or rogues..or even assassins around that they could get to cooperate with them on this sort of thing. "If we could separate the Advisor and the King......" Ephraim murmured. "Joshua, you and I both know how that feels or how it will even happen. Its not an easy task to pull off...not without the right people at least" since both males were and are King, they would both know that even a task such as that could almost never be done. Given the circumstances that they had at the moment, it would be even more difficult. The idea was good...however, how played into question.

The subject moved onto the execution. There were a couple of archers here...Well..from what Ephraim could tell, Sue was a Nomad that was capable of using both a bow and a sword. His head turned to the brunette on the couch, the other archer that they had on hand and then..there was John. How well all party member's aims were, Ephraim didn't know. He raised his head and started to count how many people were here currently. "Thirteen..." is what he counted including himself. How were things going to be divided...at most, three groups is what they need, they don't need an entire group to rally up the citizens. When Rajin started to accuse Joshua of being stupid, Ephraim spoke up..rather in an irritated tone "He is talking about one other group for rallying the citizens, or have you forgotten that was one of the suggested task. Thus making it four tasks. However, Joshua. Only one will be capable of doing that, not a whole group"

Ephraim was about to speak up once more until Ciela started growling at the door. He looked at her, then toward the door. It seems that they had visitors. But from who? Could Rogvald had found their get together...or had information been leaked out that they were here plotting? The guards were spotted and the calm look Ephraim had on soon shifted to a horrified, shocked look.

"You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything.
You have to look forward. Remember what you have here now.
Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from
Elibe or anywhere else!"

{Amelia}
So many people were in the manor. Again. Thankfully, there were no guards, no soldiers, and no advisors in the manor today. Amelia was more than glad to let people gather there. There was talking of resistance, of rising up to fight back against Rogvald. Amelia busied herself in silence in the adjacent kitchen, preparing some kind of food. Some of these people were going to be staying here for a while, anyway.

The problem is that our power's already been splintered, Amelia thought as she chopped tomatoes. Aisen slept in his crib near her, perfectly content, even with the rising and lowering voices from the living room. Rath's going to be executed, Vaida's locked underneath Rogvald's control, I haven't seen many of the guild members, and then most anyone else around here has had their weapons taken away or are fugitives from being wrongly imprisoned...

The tiger laguz that had arrived was yelling now; she recognized his voice by this point. We're in some deep s**t.

Amelia was moving to make the sandwiches, intending on giving her own input once she went into the main room, when she heard the knocking. Everyone fell deathly silent.

...Even deeper now.

"Coming!" Amelia shouted. She started to move to the door, but the combination of shouting and then the feverish pounding on the door stirred Aisen's sleep, and he began to cry. "Er... i-in a minute! Just hold on!" Amelia moved to the baby, scooping him up and cradling him delicately in her arms. "Sh..."

She continued to rock the still-crying baby as she appeared in the kitchen doorway. "Someone get that for me!" she hissed at the party gathered in the living room. "Now, before they bust the door down! I'm not asking, I'm telling!"

"Goddamn... stupid... dye..."

Gale was sitting in a tub in one of the manor's many bathrooms, repeatedly dumping buckets of heated water over his head. "That damn gypsy told me this would come out when I washed..." He grabbed the soap once again, running it violently through his hair. If he scrubbed hard enough, he could see the black slowly leaving the strands of hair and staining the water he sat in. He hoped it would dilute enough to avoid staining his skin. Scrub scrub scrub. Ever since he'd gotten back from the expedition, he'd been in there. He'd given no explanation to the bewildered ex-prisoners, instead opting to navigate straight to the bathroom. It'd been a few hours, and perhaps someone would idly wonder if he had fallen into a proverbial waste pit. But he hadn't. Gale had just been sitting in a tub of heated water for the last few hours, scrubbing his head.

But eventually, the dye had rinsed at least mostly out of his hair. It still left a few blackened marks, which would probably look pretty cool when dry. He got out of the water, inspected his chiseled muscles in the mirror, then grabbed a white towel to pat himself dry. He didn't want to dry his hair with the towel, lest it stain the fabric, so he opted instead to let the blue strands air-dry. And he didn't have any clothing with him besides the dusty, dirty, sweaty garments he'd worn in, so he wrapped the towel around his waist and left the bathroom.

Outside, the resistance was growing in number and resolve. They were already discussing ideas, some of which sounded better than the others, but Gale remained silent. He would have to navigate across the room to obtain clothes anyway, and he didn't want to distract them. He hung silently along the back of the room, listening to the discussion.

When a knock came upon the door, the room went deathly silent. Faces were pale. A cursory glance outside the window revealed the presence of some guards. His own heart jumped for a moment, then... Didn't that spirit girl say something about those with ill will being unable to get in here? He glanced around the room -- everyone was frozen in place but Amelia, who was tending to a crying baby.

"I've got this," he softly announced, bringing attention to himself and his state of undress. "Hide if you feel the need to."

Gale wandered towards the door slowly, giving those who needed to hide that chance, then paused a moment before opening the door and meeting the face of a scarred woman. She was a woman of little introduction and immediate business, it seemed.

"Reports say that a lot of guests have been coming here in the past couple of days. The resistance wouldn't happen to be using this place as a hideout... would they?"

Gale watched her for a moment, still wearing nothing but a towel around his waist, his long blue hair hanging damply over his defined chest to dry. "Resistance? Hideout? I haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about, ma'am. And the woman who lives here is busy with a child." He flashed a sideways glance at the woman as he moved to casually place himself in the doorway, obscuring a view behind him inside. "Is there anything else I can help you with, however?"

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed
Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your
will to live...

They were safe. For now, at least. She would have to settle for that. For now.

She had settled on the couch once they had arrived back, watching the company around her plan. Well, there was a lot of shouting and a lot of conflicting ideas. She mostly absorbed their statements and the suggestions, considering them. Blossom picked silently at a stray thread in her scarf.

"I think getting Rath free is what comes first," she murmured, but her voice was drowned out by the increasing volume, finally hitting full-out yelling. "I think... um... we should probably... maybe if we figure out where Rath is being kept..."

Thudthudthud.

Blossom froze on the couch, clutching onto her scarf. They were already found. Blossom instantly thought of Gale's protests from before, wondering if he would end up telling her about that later. All my fault, they caught us, they--oh my God that's hot.

The small Hero stared at Gale as he passed by, damp hair dripping against his back and well-defined chest. There were a lot of questions that needed answering, really. Since when was he the man in black? It had to be him, since it wasn't like anyone else had gone in that bathroom since they arrived. Why hadn't he intended on telling them beforehand? And why hadn't he gotten dressed?

I don't think I mind that last one, though...

Blossom could feel a blush rising up to her face, and she managed to push down the shame at this as she studied Gale's muscled torso. When he addressed them quietly, she only gave a wordless nod before rapidly scrambling off of the couch and around the corner of the kitchen doorway where Amelia was still tending to Aisen. She could still hear and--if she was very careful--see what was happening in the living room. All that was left was to wait and listen to Gale interact with whoever was at the door.

There was an odd feeling that she had seen him before, though. It was one of those senses people couldn't explain but knew to listen to it. "Do I know you from somewhere? You look very familiar..." She shook her head and looked passed all the muscles. "Nevermind that! Look, let's not play each other for fools. I won't come inside if I don't have to and I don't plan on taking any action. The fact that I passed through the barrier is proof enough. Rogvald's demanding- sorry, requesting that the resistance disband. I need an answer to this and I'm not leaving until I get one! It was a short trip. Valter had been to Fefga's many times, so he didn't have any trouble finding his way back. The Commander and his guards touched down a few yards behind Captain Vaida, dismounting quickly. It was pretty obvious that everything was under control so far, or at least the two parties weren't trying to kill each other. The wyvern knight approached his subordinate, casually motioning for his guards to follow behind him.

"Captain," Valter smiled. "Are these the rebels?" As he said this, he cast a glance at the figure standing in the doorway. He had never seen the man before, and this caught his attention. What was a complete stranger doing in Fefga's manor? He has to be a new addition to the Guild, Valter reasoned. Nobody else would be using the manor. Would Fefga even allow it? Valter's smile wavered for a split second, then turned into a slight frown. "Who is this man?" he asked Captain Vaida.

"Oh goody guests. Everyone we should make ourselves presentable." Wil smiled jokingly as the door was pounded on. He saw Amelia having trouble with her child. "Ma'am do you need help? It's the least I can do for letting me stay here." Wil sat up on the couch and stood quickly when he heard a familiar voice. 'Couldn't be Vaida could it...?' Wil moved to Amelia.

"Thank you so much for letting me stay here. It's been horrible sleeping outside. I've no other place to go really. Been wandering around for months now." Wil laid one hand on Amelia's shoulder and winked as if to say "play along". "So please if there is anything you can have me do, don't hesitate to to ask."

Wil looked over his shoulder at Vaida. 'Huh so it was her.' He looked at Amelia again. "Again you are the nicest person. Time's are hard and taking on someone else in your house is so generous." Wil wasn't sure how believable he was but he sure did try his best to make it seem like he was a traveler.

The sound of boots on the stairs echoed in the quiet room as the Hawk King made his way down from the second floor. "Ah, Comma-- that is, Captain Vaida. And Commander Valter," he added, narrowing his eyes a bit. Despite his initial active role in setting ground rules for the Resistance, Tibarn had been scarce and hard to find in the Manor over the past week or so.

"What's all this about a resistance? What are we... resisting, exactly?" He cocked his head, striding across the room to face them. "Or can't a group of old friends convene in a house these days without Rog-- King James' approval?" He smiled, folding his wings, and held his hands behind his back. "He certainly is getting paranoid, isn't he? After all, why would any of us possibly want to cause harm to this fine, newly established autocracy Rogvald's set up?" He glanced back at the others.

"How about you guys? Any of you think of a reason? No?" He paused, pointing at Ephraim. "Thought I saw your hand-- no? Okay, never mind. Yeah, I don't see why he would think we have anything against him," he said, turning back to face the guardsmen. "We're just some old friends meeting for pie and to celebrate old times. Did you want some pie? It's not finished baking, but if you come back in an hour or two I'll be sure to save you a piece." He grinned. They weren't laughing, and he couldn't blame them. Except Valter. He could blame Valter a lot. ********' Valter.

"But if he really demands an answer, I suppose we'll have to say that no, we're not going to go anywhere. Tell him to shove that in his pipe and die horribly. From me. With regards, of course."
PostPosted: Wed Sep 22, 2010 4:01 pm

"Uh, yeah, what he said."

Gale shot a look over at the hawk to join his side before returning his attention to the guests at the door. The woman was Vaida. Gale wasn't stupid. He'd heard the stories of her spread through the Bernese army, told years after her active service to the country. And here she didn't seem to be much older than him. More time shenanigans, much like with the situation with Blossom, he assumed. In any case, he assumed it would be safe to tell her his name. The man by her side was wondering that very thing, though he was not quite as nice as her about that.

"I am Gale, a former Dragon Knight of Bern. You are too, Miss Vaida. I served years after you did -- I never thought I'd be meeting you one day. It's flattering, almost." His gaze wavered uncertainly to Valter. "You don't look familiar, however." He glanced back at Vaida. The way she was referring to Rogvald was assuring, but Valter's presence was not. "What's with your... eh, friend, there?"

"But yes," he resumed. "Pie," he said, with a slight grin.

It was funny how one little knock and a couple of the guards could get so many people to freeze in place. Ephraim however, did not move from where he stood..others, ran off to hide somewhere. His expression returned to that of the calm look he had on the minute he stepped foot in this place. He had no reason to hide, he was here trying to help..but apparantly that did not seem wanted by a few others. Someone got the door at the very least and sure enough, there stood Vaida along with someone else. That voice, Ephraim recognized that voice anywhere. Valter, so he was here with Vaida as well....The lancer didn't know what he was more shocked at, the fact that Vaida was out and working for Rogvald..or the fact that Valter had a lacky once more. Deja vu wouldn't you say?

His eyes averted toward the stairs where Tibarn, a hawk Laguz Ephraim knew and heard of. He was then pointed out for having a reason to start a resistance in the first place. Ephraim scoffed and flicked a strand of hair out of his eyes "Hawk King, I would appreciate it if you would not accuse me of such a thing..After all..I'm just here for the gathering like anybody else" play along, why not. It doesn't seem like they were buying it anyways. Don't assume the worse when people decide to gather in a manor most of the time. He shifted his weight, tucking his hands in his pockets as he ignored the soft growling coming from his wolf companian.

User ImageVaida turned as she heard the wyvern's wings and saw the riders land. She glared at the man in the lead. 'Valter...'

She growled to herself as he walked over, clearly unenthusiastic about his arrival. He started asking her a whole bunch of questions and was just being annoying right from the start. Vaida knew she wasn't going to enjoy being...serving under him. "Hell if I know..." she replied. "And why the hell are you here, Valter? I don't need your help."

The awkward conversation was interrupted as Tibarn came out and acted annoyingly carefree. He obviously knew that Vaida was aware the resistance was there, he was just acting like an a** on purpose. Vaida rolled her eyes at him. "Fine then, if-" She stopped and recalled what the naked man had just said. "...Really? Huh. I remember a soldier named Gale in training. I heard he was very skilled. You turned out rather..." She looked him over thoroughly once more, then shook her head and continued.

"Anyhow! I guess if there's no resistance here, then I won't inform you that Rath's execution has been moved up to two days from now." Vaida shrugged her shoulders, acting as if it wasn't a big deal. "I guess I also won't give you the message from Rogvald about the king meeting with you all to resolve things peacefully." Held her head up snottily and turned around. "Ah well, I guess I'll just have to keep searching and give the details to the real resistance..." She glanced back to see if anybody would respond.

Valter

Valter was about to make an undoubtedly witty reply when he was stopped by a familiar voice. The smirk returned to the Commander's face when he saw Tibarn walk into view.

Well, that answered a lot of questions.

"Well, it certainly is good to see you again, Tibarn," the Wyvern Knight replied with an obvious note of sarcasm. "I do have to wonder why I wasn't invited, however. You're fortunate that I'm not easily offended... comrade," Valter chuckled. Then, turning his attention to the almost naked man before him, the Commander introduced himself. "As you have surely heard by now, I am Valter, the finest Commander the Learanian Guard has ever seen. If you don't know my reputation, I'm sure you'll experience it firsthand soon enough."

After Vaida was done speaking, Valter waited eagerly to see the expressions of shock on their faces when the resistance members heard of what was about to befall their beloved leader.

-Ephraim-

They were bumping up the execution? Preposterous! "Two days from now....But that..." time was not on their side it seems. Rogvald had no intentions to play around if these resistance were slowly starting to form. If what Vaida says is absolutely true, then they would need to start moving now. However, rallying the supports of the people would no longer be needed nor would they have the time. "Hold on" the lancer called out, grabbing the former Commander's attention. "Two days from now, what is the meaning of this? Is Rogvald so eager to get rid of Rath or is this some sick joke" whatever the reason, it wasn't funny. Perhaps a threat? No, even with the threat Rogvald would still carry out the execution. But two days...that really did not give them a whole lot of time to prepare if they were going to save the lot of them.

Resolve things peacefully how the old geezer was going to take down the Captain no matter what they said. "Resolve things peacefully?" that's a laugh, if they wanted to settle things like civil people then they should have thought of that way before they got out of hand, accusing people, sentencing them to their death or even banishing them from the village. Ephraim pondered the thought a moment, his eyes glanced toward the marble floor for a bit before he lifted his head up again.

"Please, tell us more" The lancer spoke out loud, clear for anybody to hear. "Should anything happen, I will take full responsibility. It is as you predicted, we are the resistance" Vaida was not going to turn her backs to the guild members..so it was safe for Ephraim to assume that she was on their side.

If anybody was going to bash him for saying something they think he shouldn't have then he would probably get a beat down for it. He was by no means trying to take leadership, but if nobody was going to move or say anything then hell, Ephraim will speak up for everyone whether they agreed or disagreed. They needed to know the details and circumstances of where things stand and there was only one person who knew of the details. Vaida.
