Bunnietenou I know what its like. I have 42DD with hips to match. Luckly I was blessed with a small middle so i have a nice hourglass look but hardly anything shows it off and looks like i'm wearing a trashbag. I found (From alot of experimenting) That is you put on a nice button up white shirt and then a corset (I wear a real one but some of you younger girls might want to look into one that doesnt have boneing in it. Binding hurts and is illegal in some places... like here in oklahoma.... eh sue me) ANYWAYS.... I wore the white shirt with a black corset over it. It looks FABULOUS... add a nice tie or something to your neck and you can match just about anything you want to wear on the bottom. I just happened to put on a black tutu... and lot of flowers.... Hee hee That outfit is fun and turns alot of heads. but i dont care. WHEE.... I should really act more my age sweatdrop wearing corsets in places in America is illigal?!?! what the hell? lol...i've never heard of such nonsence sweatdrop thats really sad...but thankyou for the great advice!! i'm making my first corset soon (when i get the pattern through the mail), and i was going to put boning in it until i ran out of money... i really need a real boned corset, i totaly agree about how hard it is to wear EGL with huge hips and skinny waist without looking like you have a bin bag on lol...it's sadly turned me towards punk lolita and meybe a bit more EGA...unfortionatly ;-; i still love my poofy skirts...

Maybe it's illegal because women were doing some major damage to themselves back in the day...? That's interesting, I would look into it if I wasn't so lazy xp

er... i kinda have the same problem some of you have....
i have full b boobs and since im small i have to watch out for crazy cleavage cuz that just dont look good!
and i have a huge a**, if my a** were a bra size it would prolly be a d; and i have a 27 inch waist. i dont wear pants that much any more because i have to upsize my pants so they fit my a** and in consequence they are loose on my waist. so annying.

Me <3 you. Trashbag = always. I have like one skirt that doesn't make me look like that.
I bought a PVC corset with boning, that laces up the front in thick pink ribbon. I bought a cute button up shirt from HotTopic, when I was in the US, with puffy little sleeves thats looks wonderful with the corset and a black fluffy skirt.
Yesyes. I suggest if anyone buys a corset though, although boning is alright, and doesn't get annoying still about 3 in the afternoon at school [XD] I suggest not buying PPC or vinyl because it gets incredibly hot and sweaty under it sweatdrop
Corsets are a good alternative, and skirt & shirt combos are often better than dresses since dresses have to fit two places perfectly at once, it is harder to come by one that fits your hips and chest >.<

Oh dear Lord I'm not alone. I am cursed with a hefty 38 DDD, a rear-end to match, and a tiny waist. Whoever thought that hour-glass figures were sexy weren't in the fashion industry because I can never find clothes that fit right -- Ever! Fitted shirts are always too short and t-shirts make me look huge. I bought a corset, which I love. However, it's a civil war pattern, which means that it comes right up above the nipples and I am popping out of it. However, it fits perfect everywhere else. grrrrrrr...... It's so frustrating. My pants never fit right, and to top it off, I'm a little on the short side. I know all about frustrating fashion.

crying 40-D and hips that match. I've given up on finding pants that fit properly. They are always too big on the waist! And shirts are always too short! It drives me crazy! stressed

I get the same problem considering, skirts dont want to go past my a** and hips, and my boobs make all shirts go up. I'm a full B and my arse isn't about to get any smaller and I have a small waist, hourglass figures I love but I wish the fashion industry did when I'm for once lookng for clothing I like and fits. Whenever I get shirts I have to get them in a bigger size(which results in looking like a bag so I have to do surgery) because when I get a shirt that fits the length of my upper body and waist my boobs pull it up in the front and I'm not about to let my stomach hang all out. Plus when I get skirts, whether they're the right length or fit my waist, it's either up high in the back or I cant even pull it past my hips. Shopping and ordering clothing definately sucks.

Wow, so many hourglass figures @_@ are all of you true hourglasses? (meaning 10 or more inch difference from bust to waist, bust and hips same measurement)
Recently I had a vintage pattern used to make a dress for me in a play...they had to take in the shoulders on a bigger pattern so it would fit my shoulders and bust...and then after that I had to take in the waist a few inches with some saftey pins as well ._. I mean, these patterns wer made to fit someone wearing a friggin waist cincher and cone cups!
Oh...and just about ever pair of pants I own I can pull down without unbuttoning, they fit my butt really well, but the waist just doesn't stay up :

i have an hourglass figure as well, my bust is a 40C and i have wide shoulders (like those oh so loveable supermodels..) and i'm a short 5'2''. the corset+shirt thing is a great combination idea. i can usually pull almost anything off in the right combination. There are also those times when i just look stupid sweatdrop but hey.. you can't win 'em all. i have a hard time pulling off sweet lolita, but i think maybe if a style of clothing doesnt look good on me.. then maybe it isnt really part of the real me at all. usually i find that it isnt part of my personality after i think about it, and i find something better that fits my body and my personality perfectly. ^-^ you could also modify things as said before. but if you cant sew.. you're basically lost in the lolita world, of course.. unless you're rich and have a money fountain.. you know.. xd

Im a 38 DD and it is extreamly dificult to find any lolita outfits my size, so I make them ^^ my most comon outfit these days is my waist clentcher, with a puffy pesant top on under it ^^ it looks more nicole kidman (moulan rouge) with an extream gothic ballroom look -.-' my friends say its far from lolita, but alas the problem of money always wins ^^ so any busty lolis out there, think tight waist and a pesanty top -.- or make your own ^^ making loli outfits is the true joy of being a loli so says me, but I probably know nothing, living in a small town in canada crying

I have a 44.5 inch bust, 44 inches around the hips, and a 32 inch waist. When I wear my corset it take up to a full 3 - 4 inches off my waist. Having been busty all my life, I do have very wide shoulders, which is another issue. If I find a shirt that will fit my bust, it will often not fit my shoulders, and pulls in the front. This is very irritating. As for pants, whatever fits my waist can't make the climb over my hips. I just bought a new pair of pants and had to take them back because I forgot this.

Wow tank girl, that's amazing! I'm sorry, but I find stuff like that fascinating, I think the hourglass figure is the most beautiful thing ever, and I've loved it since I was a little girl. I've heard it is one of those things that is almost universally found attractive. It's very feminine smile

As weird as this might sound coming from a 13 year old I really know your pain, I'm cursed with a large bust (38B-C)and wide shoulders and I'm still growing. I haven't measured my waist bust and hips but I can pretty much assue you I'm an hour glass. Shirts never fit right and when I finde one that fits my bust it's way to big on anything else. Also I'm cursed with huge thighs (playing soccer doesn't help) so pants and some skirts won't want to go up around my thighs..unfortunatley Mum won't let me wear a corset under my clothes so I have to get really large sizes andave help altering patterns to fit properly.
